I don’t see the problem? It needs to be clean yes! A city with 8 million people needs around the clock cleanup. Other than that what’s wrong with this area? Not a damn thing.
Would it be possible to organize a neighborhood clean up? The local government could do more, but it’s not physically possible for the government to keep every inch of the city clean, all the time. At some point, people who live there have to take some pride in their neighborhood
I was just there and you can get a really nice natural fruit smoothie or hot tea in the food court. The primark, old navy and target I always stop by. Honestly I'm from bedstuy and I have lived in queens for a few years and I love it. Jamaica has character and it's changed a lot. Used to be WAY WORSE. You gotta live there and talk to people! Good people here regardless of what it looks like.
This is like any busy and crowded neighborhood that is near a Transportation Hub. It is the same around Penn Station and the Port Authority in Manhattan. You may have some blocks that accumulate a lot of trash and a number of homeless people. The city needs to do their job pick up the trash and find permanent solutions for the homeless people.
@@dddjmkn2011 lol!!! Really, I know. The pigeons even need drugs to deal with life there. City is dirty, dangerous, crime a over, rents ridiculous, and crappy political "Leaders. " a shithole. Enjoy your day. The Gringoman of Cypress Hills.
Sutphin Boulevard has always been like that! I haven't been there in a min but from the looks of it nothing has changed. The Wendys on the corner of Jamaica & Parsons is gone.
Wow! You were looking for the Wendy’s too 😂😂😂😂That’s how long I haven’t been there either. I use to work at a few nursing homes in Jamaica. That area is always crowded.
I was down there and seem like it haven't never upgraded. In Chicago this how our old stores look back the in the 90s but now everything is new and upgraded.@@LindaWonge
Same thing in every other street people not carrying and throwing there fuckin garbage on ground when there a garbage less then 5 feet from them it's ridiculous
Aside from the trash on Archer and Sutphin Blvd, nothing wrong with the area. It reminds me of the Brixton area of London, England. People from all over trying yo make a living and survive. Certain folks want to call it trashy, well this aint for you. Democratic or Republican it always looked the same. its looked like this for 40 years, just a few more extra immigrants. I know I wish I had some of that pizza they showed. Nothing like NYC pizza❤

They ASK what happening in Jamaica, Queens? Alawani Alassane your GOD, ASKING what happening in Jamaica Kings, because of SHAME, they mention Queens, Are there only Queens in Jamaica 🇯🇲???
I moved here for the proximity to the subway and railroad. Not a bad place to live but it is very dirty. The people that live in the shelters such as the YMCA for example hang at the bus stop all day on Parsons Blvd between 89 and 90 ave right by the Dallas BBQ. They sit there all day and night littering and leaving empty bottles on the floor even tho there are garbage cans a few feet away. Sutphin Blvd looks like zombie land with drug dealers and addicts everywhere. It’s a nice neighborhood and with a lot of potential but we can’t have anything nice because of the low lives in the area. I feel as if the national guard should come intervene hahaha
Really? Like Columbine, and every other small town that's been shot up by school shooters, and white supremacist's that kill people shopping for groceries.
Thank you for capturing this. I said the same thing a few days ago. My church is right on Jamaica Avenue. I was born and raised in Jamaica and on the AVE for over 30 years. Growing up it was busy and gritty but NOT THIS GRITTY AND DIRTY. The "ave" was a hub that people came to from all over for deals and good Caribbean, Spanish, and Indian food. The coliseum or "colley" block was the spot to go to with LL COOL J back to school events and shopping at Jimmy Jazz for your school clothes. Now Sutphin BLVD was busy and sketchy always (lol) but it was at times a good busy seeing your neighbors from different countries going to the fish market. With the influx of gentrification and changes to Jamaica Ave, I feel as though they may be purposely making it look that way to push us out and then clean it up like they are doing Brooklyn. For example, I saw new luxury apartments starting at $2K+ off Archer. Like, what??!! Jamaica AVE had its dirty spots but the Jamaica Development people always had people cleaning either every night or day. It never was THIS bad. I still love my Jamaica but something certainly isn't right. It could be just me but I am glad someone shares the same sentiment.

Nothing new Jamaica Queens has look like this for 10 plus years
Nasty and dangerous.
Awful place, it looks like Calcuta , Nothing to be proud of
The entire dam place has become a cesspool🤮🤮
Corruption has become widespread
The same thing everywhere else. Rent TOO high & gentrification process
This is brutal, we don't have anything like this in Russia, even in small towns, there's no trace of it, it's a complete mess
Meanwhile half of Russia lives here in Brooklyn! Yall love it!

I was home sick watching I was reminded how good the pizza was now 11 years later in Tennessee I'm still remembering jamaica ave

Queens is a nice place.
Whatever happened to storefronts being kept clear of their merchandise..Summons were issued many moons ago.. A city without law and order…
This Mayor needs to go no more of him.
I love the street vendors.
Nice to see these lovely people in Jamaica, Queens, getting along with each other and looking peaceful; beautiful!

Lol… Jamaica Queens where they beat you up and take your jeans 🤣
Why is my old neighborhood like this wow. Come on folks get together as a community and clean up. Come on this
People dont care. We have got the dirtiest city
Save for that one area of compact trash everything else looks quite nice in Queens. People out and about.
I live in bayside and never seen this nasty like this.
We must acknowledge the relentless depletion of the earth's minerals and our negligent disposal of endless waste disposal.
