Sexism can go both ways. Some people don’t recognize that.

The reason is the same as the most people not understanding that racism can go both ways or even in the same race, one side did some bad things at one point and now its expected and no one believes the other side could do that. (Sorry for any confusion to anyone reading this I'm bad at grammar still and the ADHD doesn't help 🤷‍♂️)

As a boy, I loved gymnastics. It started with cartwheels as these things nearly always do, but from a young age I was always climbing on things, trying to do flips, and balancing on train rails or parking kerbs. When I was 10 my parents signed me up for a private gymnastics course. I was one of two boys in the class of 12.
I loved it. I struggled at first with anything that required me to flip backwards, but I had fun, and even went to a few competitions. I continued with that class for a few years, and when I got to highschool I started asking about joining the gymnastics team.
The gymnastics coach said they don't allow boys to take gymnastics. I asked why not and she explained that there are no other males in the division so I would have no one to compete against. I asked her if I could just come to practice anyway and participate but she said it's against the school policy.
I went to the athletic director and asked if I could join and he flat out told me "No. We don't allow boys gymnastics. If you want you can try out for the wrestling team."
A few weeks later a friend of mine introduced me to Parkour, so I returned and asked if we had a parkour team. The athletic director didn't know what it was and asked me to explain it. I told him it's a physical discipline based on navigating unusual or urban terrain in a safe and efficient manner, and involves running jumping leaping and rolling.
He said if I could find a teacher willing to supervise I could start it as a club. So I asked around and one of the math teachers who was into rock climbing agreed to meet with us after school once a week. I registered the club and put up an ad.
At our first meeting next week we had three members including myself. The teacher who volunteered, observed my instruction on safety recovery rolls, safety falls, and cat grabs (a safety technique for when you have to suddenly grab onto a ledge).
He approached me afterwards and said he had full confidence in my abilities and that I could run the course without him from now on, gave me a number to call if there were any incidents, and for the next four years I was the head of the parkour club at our high school. We only ever had one girl attend.
I now enjoy both parkour and gymnastics as a hobby.

As a victim of domestic abuse and violence. Men can and do experience domestic violence on a very regular basis! I fully believe that if a woman is attacking a man he has every right to defend himself! If a woman is hitting a man, she should expect one back! Just because there’s a taco between your legs doesn’t give you a pass to go round abusing people and not getting any repercussions!

I have friends that have accidentally hit me, elbowed me in the face, tripped me by moving feet as I was stepping over legs. We have to be so careful about who we make jokes about these incidents around because I’m a 5’3 woman and the ones that this has happened with are all 6’+ men.

    2 - 3times i can recall: (im a man)
1 time when i started to grow out my hair (15/16) my mom hated, no, she *HAAAATED* it, she even screamed at me "Only women should have long hair, not men"
2: had a little to long nails sure, but didnt have Clippers or time, brother complained, asked why women could have long nails but not men, kinda got the same response as above: "That woman should/could have, not men" (he got backlash almost immediately, from his now wife)
3: at a workplace i had (health care) had a patient with dementia, got aggressive, almost all woman stood around him in his room, meanwhile only me helping the other patients, got the famous from a female coworker; "But you are a man." And expecting me just to handle it, i just said "ok, im helping others"... one angry side eyed later, she was angry she had to handle it

@@renta1015 Heck, the woman can have consensual intercourse and then go to authorities saying she didn't want it and get you arrested for rape. At that point, it's only your words against her and the many friends, family, and now lawyer's words. Unless you can get her to admit she lied, you're done. Even worse when you had life doing great. A college football player suffered that fate solely because a chick didn't want to have her crush find out she slept with a black dude as a sl*t. Although she lost that case, It hurt many people and I'm sure people would defend her actions today.

Story 5: You have that absolutely correct. The customer is always right in matters of TASTE. If a customer wants to order a lime-green zoot suit and grape purple shoes with a safety cone orange wide-brimmed hat, you say "Yes, sir! Let me ring that up for you" knowing full well they are about to commit 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree murder on the senses of anyone that get within visual range. However, if they say you have to sell that same ocular abomination at 50% off, you can tell them to get bent and either pay full price for their war-crime of fashion or GTFO.

So no matter the situation I get labeled as the aggressor. Im very easy going and passive. Yet here I am in a miserable relationship, fighting to keep my kids. I also worked at a Petco. I was very knowledgeable on saltwater aquatics. I was told to bag up all the very expensive saltwater fish and corals and when talking to the customer asked them how long they’ve had the tank. They said they were going to set it up when they got home. That’s a sure fire way to kill your fish and lose all that money. When I explained that I wasn’t going to sell them the fish because they will die, but would have a re order on those fish once their tank was up and running and already cycled for the recommended 30days, they got PISSED! My manger at the time just said to go ahead and sell them the fish. As someone who LOVES all aquatic life was so frustrated that I was basically sending off all these fish to die. Well low an behold they had come back about a week later demanding their money back because all of their livestock in the take had died. All sales on saltwater were final and no returns on those fish were allowed. I was so mad.

If customers in Florida buy wool caps and mittens in July, they drive demand and are therefor right.

We had to take a questionnaire in middle school about dysfunctional homes. One of the qeustions was "Have you lived in a home where a male in the house abused a female in the house?" For a good chunk of my early childhood (we eventually got the heck out of dodge) my father was abused by my biological mother, so I asked if it still counted the other way around. Her response? "Yeah, it's the 21st century, I geuss anything could happen." I think she was trying her best, but it felt so dismissive, especially since I was asking about a very touchy subject at the time

    On the scary stuff section:
One day, me and my (now ex) boyfriend arrived at his house after a night out. As we enter, we hear his dog (a half pit bull) whining upstairs. He lived in a not very safe neighborhood, so we both snuck to the kitchen, grabbed knives and slowly climbed up the stairs. He went ahead and left me behind, since he was bigger than me (6ft buff guy and 5ft 4 skinny girl), when I suddenly hear him laughing hysterically and calling me to his bedroom. Turns out that his dog was wearing one of those cones because of a skin condition, she somehow managed to crawl under his bed and got stuck. We both lifted the bed a few inches to set the poor thing free, while laughing our asses off.
EDIT: she was fine, just hungry as always

On the calm person losing their cool one I have a story.
In school "assigned" seats where the chair you sat in the first day of class. Well in 8th grade, about half way through the school year I had set my stuff down on my desk and went to sharpen my pencil. I had been going through some personal stuff so I had a somewhat quiet and passive attitude that had made me a target for a bully we'll name E. Well E had shoved my stuff on the ground and had sat in my spot. When I got back I looked down to see all my stuff on the ground, and E with a smirk. I flipped the table over on him. Boy was he mad, he got up and went to try and hit me and I was ready for the fight but the teacher only saw him fixing to hit me. She started yelling at him about flipping the desk and attacking another student. I played it up and faked cried about how mean he was. He was sent to the principal office. No one in the class corrected the teacher on the actual events. The next day E saw me in the hall and said "well played" as he passed, giving me a nod of respect.

Something scary that happened probably a year or 2 ago. So I was in my old room with my brother his bed was on the left side and I was on the right side next to the window. I was in that stage where I was half asleep and half awake. Suddenly I hear Someone with my voice talking to my grandmother (I was not talking at all and she was not in my room and probably asleep) then she says "Do you know about the man behind you?" and 2 seconds later I heard a manly voice right next to my ear say "Hello" to me. I was so scared I looked out the window around my room basically everywhere but the only other person there was my brother. I'm so glad I moved to a different room.

One of my middle schools had a pin pad you put your lunch number in on. I was home with my son one night and we were laying in bed when he was 2. He kept saying mommy man in field we had a corn field behind our house. I grabbed my gun and went out to clear the area around our house but I saw no one.

I was schooled at that turning point between old and new school, and when I was in Year 3, I joined the netball team for the school (it was intersex, though I wasn't sure of the gender things at the time, and I wanted to leave school early to play sport) with my friend, and it turns out we were the only males in the town at the interschool weekly carnivals (about 2000 girls).
My now wife tells me our presence there was met with anger, mocking, and curiosity 😅

In our high school, early 1960s, we had this James Dean knockoff who had all the girls fluttering around and squealing, "Oooooh, Dino!" I'd never seen him, but I did see this girl come out of the principal's office, walking bowlegged and with the greasiest hair and the most awful haircut I'd ever seen. Dino. Forced into a skirt and with a lot of explaining to do.

For context, I live with my parents and how my house was built the basement is also our garage, which is a two car garage, and my sister had parked the truck in the garage at the time. My dad was working, and my mom and sister were doing errands. Which left me by myself with the pets in the house, and I was watching tv in the living room. For a second, it sounded like my mom and sister had come home cause I swore I heard the car door close. Next thing I know I heard the truck horn as if my sister or mom trying to get my attention. Me and my dog looked at each other and I get up to go downstairs to look to see they were home. They were not even home yet, and it freaked me out. I went back up and called my mom and asked where she was, and she said that she was on her way back to the house and asked me what was going on and I told her what had happened. It kinda weirded her out. I got a lot more stories, too.

I agree with Mainly Facts Guy. Sometimes, things can go too far in the other direction when trying to solve a problem. Even as a female, it's a pity that male sexism is a thing. And yes, self defence is for everyone

my creepy story: My cat refused to go into my library. The downstairs bedroom of my house is a dedicated library, and my cat was afraid of something. I went in there and immediately got a feeling of dread, fear, and adrenaline. I figured there was an animal in there so came back and searched the place with a heavy flashlight in one hand and a Buck knife in the other. I sensed an evil presence and figured there was a demon or other spirit haunting my library. I refused to go in there for a few hours, placed a new blessing on the home, and got ready for bed. Then I started thinking about how this thing was keeping ME out of MY library and felt a cold fury. Storming back downstairs, I flung open the door and rebuked the spirit, commanding it to leave my house. The evil stopped at that point. But the library still feels "soiled" even years later. I don't like going in there at night.

In Junior High I was working on a poster in class. It had all my comic strip characters displayed in pencil, and I was working on shading the characters. I had it hung on the wall when busy with other school work. Another day I found someone had taken Crayola markers and colored in part of it, ruining the drawing. Later that day I was working in class and heard a scratching sound and there was one kid drawing on my poster. Pure rage took over. I sprinted to him and stabbed him, Psycho-style with a pencil. After about two dozen hits I realized what I was doing and stopped with a broken half of a pencil in my hand. I never broke the skin, but the kid had pencil lead marks all over his nice shirt. Then he had the utter gall to demand I pay for his shirt, after destroying my drawing.

(Sorry for it being long.) When cousins are throwing play punches it's fine but if it becomes a one way fight than it's slightly a little bad, if they are playing and the person is tired and if they are just light ones like a poke but if it's full blown punch and the person doesn't like it than it's not fine, it doesn't matter the gender

actually mainly facts dude that customer is always right thing is atributed to Sam Walton but it's actually meant it to read ( the customer is always right as far as a refund on a actual defunct or damaged item is concerned) i learned that in H.S..Decca..but it's been so misused and misquoted..so much over the years and funnily enough before the founding of Walmart or waltons .5 and.10 stores and Cafes..used to have signs that said customer service is a privilege and a right not a Demand you misstreat the wait staff your out the door..or shops would say catchy stuff like act like a jerk the clerk has the perk to show you the door and you wont be allowed here anymore..we definitely need to go back to signs like that in retail and customer service again

i have a story but ill make it quick, a had a gf and we talked together online but we went to the same school, eventually something happened and i broke up with her and the next day im called to the principals office for harassing, blackmailing, threatening, and coercing her into sending inappropriate pictures. because we were underage the police got involved but after a 10min check off all me texts and messages i was proven innocent, i was still expelled before i had to go to the station and even after wasn't allowed back st school. worst part is she got off scot free and was allowed to stay in school. i was also kicked from my spirts team and for the next 6-8 months i was called a pedo, rspist, and creep by almost everyone at my new school. If anyone does see this i just want to say thank u

I wouldn't say sexism more like the real difference between genders. I go to church youth service, me and this one girl were play trash talking and I said "You hit me and imma hit you full force" She then proceeded to hit me and in that moment I had to eat my damn words because if I were to hit her I'd do way more damage than that one punch did to me😅😅😅

Actually I personally don't think that either sex has more history than the other of being violent against one another. I just think that one sex has the freedom to talk about it more than the other since even before awareness of violence against women was a thing, if a man said anything about being abused by a woman, his buddies will give him hell for it. And I don't think that even back then fhere weren't women that were abusive to their husbands first which prompted him to get defensive and then got the story spun around on him. My reasoning is if it's happening now when everyone knows it's a huge possibility but still take the woman's word for it anyways, ain't no reason it couldn't have happened then. But then again men were quite violent against women a lot. I'm not saying it never happened, I am saying if it's this bad even with awareness concerning men now, imagine when there was just nothing like that. It's possible to have happened but where I grew up personally, a man being known to be a wife beater even back in my grandparent's parent's times would be dealt with by the community on some way.
Edit: Story 2 happened to me except for the telling her friends part. Now I admit that when we fought, I hit her places I shouldn't hit her but where can you hit a girl? She was throwing punches at me, hitting me this huge plastic toy we had as kids that was super sturdy and felt like I was being hit with a wooden door. Then my parents would get home and she would tell on me even if she started it and I would get into trouble and get my ass beat and they would say next time she did something like that, I should tell them and they would do something about it for me. Except that when I did, they never did anything but always whooped my ass in front of her when she reported. She even started making up lies to get me in trouble when we got into arguments. I hated her so much as a kid. But now, it's all good. Parents try to deny they ever did beat me that much or try to justify why I got punished and she didn't. Makes no sense to me. Now, I just avoid problems with females entirely. If a female is pissing me off, I try to leave the area. Ofc there are those ones that will try to follow you around. So I just sit there, take it and when they exhaust themselves, I go away and go vent on games.

The customer is always right, in regards to supply & demand; if customers are wanting to buy something that you don't carry, you should start carrying said item(s), then you'll have, customers.
It is not, the customers are always right in that they can throw fits & get giftcards from the p+ssy managers, but that's what ends up happening, usually.

So I'm not a man, but I was considered one at birth. Idk if I am Trans, non bi, fluid, or something else, but I know I'm not male.
While this hasn't happened yet, a part of me lives in constant fear of (among other racial/LGBTQ+ related bigotry. I'm also bi racial) the day I get into a fight with someone because of me being me in the only way I know how. And when the law does come, I'm going to be treated as a man and all of the sexisum that can come along with it.
Me being in California, I'm not exactly worried about the court going against me on account of what I am, but I am worried if evidence defending me is even collected to begin with.
Nothing against the average witness but I'm not sure it's the easiest of things to tell who's at fault at first glance when the assulter is looking like the assaulted on account of me having to go so far as to scare them with kempo to get them off my back.
