I grew up with Billy in Ionia, mi. I used to sit in my buddy Ben's basement and request song after song. He's a few years younger than me but even when he was just a kid I thought someone somewhere needs to find him. I couldn't be happier or prouder for him!
He’s gotta be one of the fastest and most accurate flat pickers of all time. I love listening to this guy play the guitar because he absolutely shreds it.
@@cameronmallin3097 trey is otherworldly. Really like Billy's classic style with the doc and tony rice influence. He's not really the most technical, but his phrasing is really fun to listen to and his songs are great.
Patrick Foster he’s really good but bluegrass players have been ripping the guitar just like this and better for a looong time. Very under appreciated musicians
@@wesleyhack1745 There's is the only style of playing that approaches the ghastly shred that is worth listening to. There's speed for the sake of flash and there's speed with heart and soul - Billy lives that in spades.
Man that guitar gives you nowhere to hide, but on the other hand it gives the experienced player like Billy an opportunity to stand out even more. Good stuff
This guy could make a stick stuck into a pile of shit with fishing line as strings sound like gold. What an awesome musician. The guitar does sound great.
I've heard stories from people about Eddie Van Halen play different people's guitars and amps and they are amazed, it is all in the fingers, all the nuances, the right pressure, slight bends, and perfect timing. He beats those strings like they owe him money at times.
This may be my favorite video of his I have seen. You can see and hear that he is not just playing the guitar, but that the guitar has become an extension of his hands and fingers. The sound that comes out is pure and clear.
Incorrect. They're 2 Grand. I have one and I suck just as much as I always have. I am now aware however, that what I need next is a toaster and some shoelaces... that should fit my skillset perfectly!
People asked me for years of i could play guitar..id say yes..are you good.. I'm ok.. then i heard billy strings for the first time about 10 years ago and realized I just play at it.. this man plays a guitar
@Kev Cthulu I don't believe Johnny cash was near the caliber of players as Roy and Chet. Nothing against the guy and he was unique with his card trick in the strings but no candle to hold from a pickers standpoint.
The guitar sounds good. So I guess it’s supposed to have the action and ease and playability that you get with a solid body electric guitar. And add the hollow body for sound but keep the electric guitar shape. So you were shooting for an acoustic guitar that looks and plays like an electric? Great. Love that idea! Billy did a good job with the demonstration playing a lot of fast chops that would be very difficult on most acoustic guitars. I like it!
Damnnit boy!! To be that young and already THAT good, all I can say is slide down on the bench Chet, Roy This ol boy is right up there with the greats. In 20 years ain't no tellin where he'll be!! Just hope I'm around to see it!!

I hear you. Never heard anybody this good. Pretty close though. Not to mention many who thought they were.
I'm definitely that person in the guitar store.
Billy Strings is the real deal isn't he? Man he can play, love the guitar too.
He's tremendous.
Yes he is the real deal. People dont understand we are watching a future legend...yes he is that good.
With a Surname like Strings it was always going to be inevitable
Now finally that guitar gets played like it should...makes me want to buy one!
Thanks Billy you are an inspiration to all of us!

I remember seeing his video in his trailer and he’s come all the way here now...crazy how far a guitar and some fingers can get you
And thousands of hours of practice!
he makes it look so simple and when you try it you realize how hard it is to play that in time and with those finger moves he does. A true genius.

What an awesome musician.
The guitar does sound great.
James Hanford true
This cats a real player. I enjoy everything from his finger work style to his lyrics. Much respect mainman...
We couldn't agree more! 🤘🎸😎
This is a terrible advertisement and it proves nothing. Billy could tie 3 pairs of shoelaces around a toaster and make it sound good.
