I don’t think LV is tacky at all ! All is about the perspective and the person carrying the bag or the piece and his/her behavior ! I can easily wear an LV bag but I will not be confortable wearing the HERMÈS H belt or the GUCCI belt. Meanwhile people raising quiet luxury while they are dressed in full ZARA or HM are so funny. So be you and wear what makes your heart sing !
What’s tacky to me is when people wear every logo from their bag to the belt, too there shoes to the jewelry and none of it matches It’s giving trying too hard to impress and it’s just very tacky.
How is wearing an LV Monogram bag trying to hard? I love that print and I can give a rats ass what people think. You only live once and if it makes your heart sing, go for it!!
As a millennial who grew up poor, watching things like the girls next door or simple life or even just seeing tabloid magazines, louis vuitton was THE GOAL to Luxury and status. That monogram said you were it. Now that im in my 30s, i can buy myself the bags i had only seen on celebs. I don't find the monogram tacky i see it as a little girl who is making moves in life. 😊 now i dont like chanel double flap, its everywhere and right now just comes off as fake. I said it. And quiet luxury is nice but boring looking lol. It's all about how it make you FEEL when wearing that bag. 😌
Thinking of buying a Chanel WOC but Chanel looks tacky as well. Like Louis Vuitton, it's one of the most copied brands. That being said, I will opt instead for YSL, Fendi, or Celine.
Quiet luxury is classy, tailored and elegant, most people don't get it, they need monograms and a brand name on their tshirt to feel special, whatever works for the individual.
I continue to enjoy LV bags logo or not. Mine goes with sentimental and fond memories as my mom used to carry it herself and I lost her 20+ years ago. So when i carry it, she’s on my mind and I really don’t factor in at all whether it is tacky or not. LV is special for me and plus it is a fashion house that was the first and has history going back to the 1800s. It’s genuinely special to me whether or not people carry it for perception of status or if considered overly used by authenticity or replicas. I have to mention the style of my collection are classic and timeless. Best of luck to those who now label LV as tacky. I don’t agree. It has a history like no other fashion house will ever have and that’s truth. It may fade because of videos like this but people like me won’t let go so fast for the next new thing.

Well thats the problem, its not the Brand or Brands. I have carried LV since undergrad in the 80’s, and carry it because of the aesthetic. LV doesnt define me nor make me happy. It appeals to me and marks the Journey of my life via travel and accomplishments. Granted, they are appealing to the younger generation as I am now 59yo. But I can look at my custom orders, Runway pieces, limited edition pieces, Trunks and bags, and can say WOW that piece reminds me of when……
It certainly is. Things we own are just that, objects that were with us in a time we remember fondly. Little time machines that can only mentally transport us into moments that we would love to go back to and relive.
I love LV I currently have several pieces but I stopped buying anything new because the prices now are not worth it to me. That said, I’m glad I bought all the classic staple pieces like the Speedy, Neverfull and Pochette Métis and use them all the time. LV monogram is not tacky, it’s a staple pieces that you can wear daily and not worry about it. If the vachetta gets worn, you can bring it to LV for repair.
I love LV. I am disappointed by some of the quality issues and I def don’t love the price increases, but there’s something to be said about “purse peace”. That state of happiness includes a few essential Louis Vuitton bags for me. I have a small collection of beautiful bags from different designers and their timeless style will keep me fashionably satisfied for years to come ♥️
It’s a shame because people would never say French shit , but when it’s Chinese made everyone goes on and on about how something is bad because it’s from china
I think how you feel about LV would apply to all the luxury brand out there. It’s up to people perspective and personal taste. No one can justify how bags look good or bad on anyone except the owners.
I have two Gucci two LV one Chanel. I honestly love my Coach better. I also wear vintage anything, and I have some early Zara bags I love just as much. Oh and I have a frye. I wear what I ike. Whatever is going on with brands and trends means nothung to me.
My LV's are dupes & sit on the shelf in the closet, while my Coach bags that are real are the ones I reach for, along with a few that I love & use just as much that are 'no-name-brands'.
Coach is a no name. It’s a cheap brand. And of course you’re not using the Louis Vuitton knockoffs because why would you they’re icky? I can’t believe you spent money on those.
LV monogram is tacky. Even people who are not in fashion can tell what is is. Gucci mono is a bit different for persons not in fashion to tell. I have both mono and LV is tackier lol
I think the excessive exposure on social media destroyed the mystique of LV and we got burned out. I own a Speedy Bandouliere 25, a Neverfull, a Capucine and that’s it. The LV magic is over for me.
I so agree but I would add Chanel, Hermes and Dior (I’m sure I’m missing more) to that list too. I live in an area where there is a lot of new money and these brands are everywhere. The other day I saw a lady wearing a dress plastered with the Dior logo on the entire dress and when she turned around the belt was emblazoned with Christian Dior in large capital letters. In addition she was wearing a Chanel classic flap and Chanel dad sandals. I was utterly speechless.
Now that’s too much. I think there is still space for Luxury and Quiet Luxury to co-exist, but there is such a thing as over doing. I also don’t like weird brand mixing. I’m like pick a look already 😳😩😫😂😂😂🙈
I have Louis Vuitton bags and I love the brand but I also wear what makes me happy I understand that the monogram logos are not for everyone but for me it’s classic and stylish I personally think that brand loyalty is ridiculous because let’s be honest these fashion houses don’t even know we exist 😆 and don’t get me started on quiet luxury 🙄 at the end of the day it’s all subjective and you should wear what speaks to the ❤ great video 😊
That's exactly right. At the end of the day, it's all material things, and everyone is going head over heels to outdo the next person especially in their dressing. Trying to out do the Kardashians. The bags by themselves are not tacky, it is the way people dress and carry themselves otherwise, such as the person's manners, their demeanor and their attitude. Frankly, the type of dressing when people expose their bodies in a very indecent way, causes the luxury bags or shoes to simply disappear. So yes, I agree, it's the people. I don't care if they are carrying a million dollar handbag, if the person is tacky, no LV handbag or otherwise can help that person.
Girl, LV is the number one luxury brand in the world. Literally. Number two is far behind. It's over for you personally- not for others, by a long shot. You do you but the arguments around aesthetics are not valid for others.
Yes I agree, the things I said in this video are completely personal. And I'm happy for those who enjoy their LV products, if it's making them feel better, then they should go for it ✨
It’s also the number one most copied brand and the massive fake market and oversaturation of that same old canvas print that’s so easy to replicate has made it stale for some. You sound very personally offended, she literally is just giving her opinion and so can you, u don’t need to announce her opinion doesn’t represent everyone, she literally said that and that’s common sense
I agree with you, over time I don’t gravitate towards LV and I’m not willing to spend that kind of money on a product when I can use it for other important things. Great video!
Louis Vuitton has gotten as tacky as Micheal Kors or Guess. And Gucci is heading that way too. Buy quality, not labels. A good quality HM or Zara product will always be a better purchase than Louis Vuitton, MK, Guess or Gucci. Even better, buy local artisans not boutiques. Or have stuff tailored to you.
Omg, someone finally said it! The monogram is very, VERY, tacky. It's wayyyyy too overused. I'd love to see some changes, imagine LV doing something timeless like YSL these days? Maybe a new logo (I get it, they don't need to throw away the monogram)
My first luxury bag is LV Retiro back in 2015. The second was bought by my husband in 2017. During the pandemic I splurged into quite amount of money with it. But haven’t purchased any in almost 3yrs. I venture into other brands which are leather after also realizing the monograms are basically the same. But I love the brand. And maybe in future will buy another one.
Why would Louis Vuitton get rid of their monogram? That is what makes their brand. I think you made the right decision to stop buying their brand if you don’t like the brand. Louis Vuitton should never get rid of their monogram, ever.
I bought an LV wallet back in the 90's I still have it. It cracked and peeled and I vowed never to buy anything else from LV. Sadly, their items, still crack and peel to-date, based on all the rants here on youtube.
Attaching to material things will never boost your confidence, whether LV, hermes or amazon dupes- self worth & value is an individualized inner personal matter. -luxury purchases made with meaningful intention is enough to decide how you spend your money.
As a 54 year old who has collected many authentic LV bags I tend to agree with you. No longer the “special” bag it once was due to the high quality knockoffs. I am finding myself looking at Coach again, Tory Burch, Demillier, Polene, and even Teddy Blake. Quiet luxury is classy. LV …not so much anymore. When you can walk in Walmart and see many wearing fakes it takes away from the allure.
Lol all luxury is really ppl wanting to flex. Otherwise no one would pay more than coach bags, those last forever. Now LV has become truly unaffordable. Most of the ppl can’t afford it anymore. So yeah, no money, no LV for you!!!!
Monogram and all the big LV logos are tacky as hell. I see them everywhere and there's nothing unique about it. I have the same opinion for Rolex (although I got into the hype and bought submariner, daytona years ago)
I have bought many LV bags. I too have been looking elsewhere. I have enjoyed finding other brands including contemporary brands that are well made. One in particular is Dooney and Bourke Florentine collection. The leather smells Devine!!
I love my LV bags❤! However, after spending thousands on three originals, I have a vendor that provides me with mirrored quality bags. There are some that even have the micro chip. Every bag I've bought, and there are a few, have been perfect! Right down to the smallest details!
You are right! What makes a luxury brand more desirable is exclusivity. That feeling you get when you finally purchased your first LV 💼 bag is like no other. Fake or not what matters is that I know it’s really!
Let’s face it, “quiet luxury” is no different than logos. People now want to show status with bags that have no logo, but are recognizable. What’s the difference?
I totally agree with the video. I’m so over the monogram, it’s boring. You walk down the road carrying an LV bag and everyone is wondering if it’s fake or real because there is no much difference when looking at the two.
Overall, I have only liked a handful of bags since I first got into it 15 years ago. My likes have dwindled even more….. waiting on some cool bags to fit my style and match my shoes.
I have few LV, but also stop buying it because of the quality and price now. I noticed that my old LV have better quality than my new ones. Plus their price is not really worth for the item. Now, I want to explore new bags that is classic with good quality and reasonable price.
Same I have two LV handbags and one Gucci and I’m totally over it! The quality issues alone are enough to make me stay away and the price increase, like WTH! I am going to keep my bags of course but I won’t be buying any that is heavily overpriced and logos all over! I have been checking out a few other brands like APC and Demellier as I would like some nude colors to route in my spring attire but after I think I’m done completely as I have to be honest I wasn’t buying the bags for status purposes but because I genuinely like the aesthetic of them! I don’t want a collection just options for my personal style! Thanks for the vid ❤
I have two beautiful MONOGRAM pieces. The Speedy 35 I received from my husband for my 60th birthday. My monceau monogram is gorgeous and turns heads everywhere. Both are investment pieces which my grandaughter will inherit from me. Timeless, classic, and definitely not tacky.
Thank you for making this video. I totally 💯 agree with you. I won’t spend a lot of money buying LV. There are greater style of purses out there and every time I see the LV it is it is annoying me. I like Donney and Bourge better quality of purses. I rather spend $2,000 or $5,000 on jewelry.❤
I think once you get to a point in your life when you can afford any bag then boredom may set in. Good thing LVMH has been able to keep the brand valuable. Some limited editions continue to increase in value. If you buy good pieces you can actually make money when you decide to sell.
Nowadays you can walk into the LV store and they would try to sell you a fake bag. Can’t rely on buying authentic even in the retail store. My wife and I confirmed this on our most recent trip to check out the small backpack she wanted. Game over
I have LV bags and I love them. I also love the monogram. I tend to look for more quality bags where there’s a leather lining like the Saint Laurent Manhattan bag, although it’s in box leather which is so had to take care of.
My one and only LV bag is close to 20 years old.. the strap has a nice patina and I love it.. I'm not buying a new one.. my belt is a lil cheesy but I love my new sneakers .. Run 55 is somewhat understated.. I do however feel the same way about too much flashiness.. I like a more subtle set up. I don't dig the logo etc on anything but the bags and in limited choice, shoes.
I just sold my damier set Micheal & Keepall 55 I don’t feel bad for some reason I had to let them go I may upgrade to Christopher or Mountain back pack who knows may downsize to 45 keepall ..
May ex hubby and I used to buy LV from Neiman Marcus, Dallas. We’re into fashion business, so we travel first class to All over the world with style, That was 30 yrs. Ago. But then my lifestyle change, I got divorced, my daughter got married. Chanel got so popular, Gucci and Hermes was very much in demand. Back to Asia, there’s a lot of counterfeit products. LV Just lost interest on LV cuz m feeling is not the same anymore. I’m senior now..my LV’s are vintage;now.
I used to love LV my sister gave me one of her little handle bags when I was in my late teens. I still have it and I’m 41 now. Quality is so different now, I have a few bags from LV and the quality has definitely changed. Also My partner was so happy he found a LV in the bins today ( his a bin man and finds stuff all the time ) it’s the Louis Vuitton Kensington bag, but in monogram not damier and a fake. Decided to keep it. Needs a good clean but I told him I wouldn’t buy the real thing anymore anyway. I got the ballerina Louis Vuitton Rose Ballerine and Damier Azur Coated Canvas Studded City Pouch a few years back and hardly used it and it’s the latch is flimsy the gold tarnished even when it was stored properly and now has a smell to it! That’s put me off buying any more from them. Wouldn’t complain if my partner decided to get me one for Christmas tho haha. But no I’m in no rush to buy anymore for awhile!
I still like LV. I just think the quality of the product is not so good at this time. I have many old pieces that I still use. But just like you, I stop buying LV.
I've never been fond of LV mainly because of the color choices. And the monogram is just too much for me -- but that goes for any brand. I hate logos. Always have. I have absolutely no interest in luxury. I want QUALITY. I value QUALITY. Not status, not brand names, not luxury. Give me quality.
I don’t think the logo is tacky at all… I think it’s the subtle luxury mindset. Personally, I just don’t like how they use thin canvas for their mini instead of leather, but at least make the canvas thicker… the quality just doesn’t justify the cost.
What is tacky is wearing everything LV all at once lol: scarf, earrings, belt, bag etc. the only prints I like is the subtle empreite and the damier azur.
Not tacky at all! it’s classic and to each their own! but don’t let fashion and style define you. it’s you who define your own style and fashion. now, read it again.
I have LV bags, they are not tacky. Instead, I love the monogram, I think it was classic. How do you want to have an LV bag and not the monograms? I love Capuccines too but having the monogram is a must.
I think people should wear what makes them feel happy. I think other people opinions doesn’t matter. It’s their money and their choice. So be happy and if you don’t have anything good to say, shut your mouth 🤫. Thanks for sharing 😊
The comment about carrying a bag (whether LV or not) to feel "confident and happy" made me uncomfortable. If you are carrying a bag, or any other fashion accessory, to change your mood that's fine. However, I feel if the bag doesn't have the desired effect and you still don't feel happy then that's not really on the bag. It's more likely something else in your life that carrying a bag won't fix.
I think people need therapy regardless of LV. They basically have no life and buying stupid stuff over and over to compensate on luck of life is not fixing their problem obviously. Maybe therapy can help to get life and forget about bags etc. 😂
THESE LUXURY BRANDS WERE NEVER MEANT FOR YOU AVERAGE OR BELOW AVERAGE WOMEN. THEY WERE MEANT FOR MONEY MAKING LADIES OF CLASS WITH MONEY THAT YOU CAN'T PHATHAM IN AMOUNT!!!!!!!!!!!! SO, IF YOU HAVE TO SAVE YOUR $$ YOU WEREN'T MEANT TO PURCHASE AND AS A RESULT NOW TRY TO ACT LIKE YOU WON'T BUY BECAUSE THE LUXURY BRAND IS WAY OVER EXPENSIVE. WHEN YOU HAVE THE DOUGH, YOU DON'T COME UP WITH 1001 EXCUSES ON WHY YOU WON'T BUY WHEN YOU CAN'T BUY - IS THE REAL REASON!!!!!! KEEP YOURSELVES IN CHECK AND DON'T SHARE YOUR LEVEL OF INEPTNESS!
Truthfully as much as LV has been replicated- Chanel also has been replicated so it would also be considered tacky too! And believe me I have a lot of LV and a lot of Chanel…. Your opinion is what it is because the entire luxury market is over! Over since COVID
Same, I thought it was just me, I do carry my damier ebene delightful mm as a work bag because of the fact that it doesn't have the LV monogram on it...I guess I have moved on Hermes because of the quiet luxury nee the Birkin and Kelly bag...
Lol. This is a funny video. But I think you nailed it on the head for yourself, you’re in your questioning phase. Seems like you are still figuring out what style works for you! I’ve been carrying LV since the late 80’s. Like you I went through phases where carrying LV didnt suit my lifestyle. But I would never go as far as calling it tacky. I would venture to say that the person carrying any brand bag whether designer or contemporary or fast fashion bag would really determine what is considered tacky not the bag/brand itself. I do find it disappointing that LV has become fast fashion in my eyes, but I will still carry my LV with confidence. I think I have enough self confidence to carry my designer bags and not worry if think I’m tacky. Lol 🤷🏽♀️

I think how you feel about LV would apply to all the luxury brand out there. It’s up to people perspective and personal taste. No one can justify how bags look good or bad on anyone except the owners.
Exactly! Everyone has their own taste of fashion, and that's totally fine ✨
I never liked the logo. Same with Ralph Lauren. My boys used to wear RL polos all of the time and I hated when the shirts moved to the huge logos.
I have two Gucci two LV one Chanel. I honestly love my Coach better. I also wear vintage anything, and I have some early Zara bags I love just as much. Oh and I have a frye. I wear what I ike. Whatever is going on with brands and trends means nothung to me.
I bought some LV recently but I feel my coach is better😂
My LV's are dupes & sit on the shelf in the closet, while my Coach bags that are real are the ones I reach for, along with a few that I love & use just as much that are 'no-name-brands'.
Coach is a no name. It’s a cheap brand. And of course you’re not using the Louis Vuitton knockoffs because why would you they’re icky? I can’t believe you spent money on those.
I love the Louis Vuitton monogram. I think the Gucci monogram is tacky.
LV monogram is tacky. Even people who are not in fashion can tell what is is. Gucci mono is a bit different for persons not in fashion to tell. I have both mono and LV is tackier lol
I agree. Gucci monogram is way tackier and uglier than LV Monogram. LV mono is beautiful!
Oh wow 🫣🫣
Now that’s too much. I think there is still space for Luxury and Quiet Luxury to co-exist, but there is such a thing as over doing. I also don’t like weird brand mixing. I’m like pick a look already 😳😩😫😂😂😂🙈
Exactly! 😂
Literally, a money walking on the street.
i used to have 15 lv bags now i cut it down to 3. i got tired of the brand too.
Thanks for sharing your own experience with the brand ✨ I totally agree with you, people should wear whatever they want!
you do you LV dose not care I love LV or even Coach it how people wear the bag Tacky you shop at Ross and look high end it the person not the bag
Totally agree. Well said.@@stephfrancis7109
Girl, LV is the number one luxury brand in the world. Literally. Number two is far behind. It's over for you personally- not for others, by a long shot. You do you but the arguments around aesthetics are not valid for others.
Yes I agree, the things I said in this video are completely personal. And I'm happy for those who enjoy their LV products, if it's making them feel better, then they should go for it ✨
You sound stupid .
Hermes is number 1 not LV
@@wj1731 no, it's not. Look at the numbers.
The monogram looks cheap, there's a reason Louis Vitton bags are known as 'every girls first bag'.
Ludicrously capacious
LV Monogram is not tacky it’s beautiful and it makes my heart sing😍
Omg, someone finally said it! The monogram is very, VERY, tacky. It's wayyyyy too overused. I'd love to see some changes, imagine LV doing something timeless like YSL these days? Maybe a new logo (I get it, they don't need to throw away the monogram)
As a guy, I only have 3 luxury items. An LV leather body bag & belt (without the monogram logos), and a black Rolex Oyster Perpetual watch. That’s it.
It’s been so overdone on the fakes and it’s so easy to replicate that it has just kind of ruined the look for some people
It’s classic they won’t do that. You have to be confident to wear luxury. It’s for people who care what others think
Lol... when everyone decides to be I minimalist they choose to say Iconic LV is tacky. Funny how when it was our THING it wasn't tacky.
I bought an LV wallet back in the 90's I still have it. It cracked and peeled and I vowed never to buy anything else from LV. Sadly, their items, still crack and peel to-date, based on all the rants here on youtube.
I have two monogram bags from over 20 years ago and they’re perfectly fine
I've always felt any bags that are plastered with their brand emblem all over look extremely tacky.
I have the same opinion for Rolex (although I got into the hype and bought submariner, daytona years ago)
the material of the bag did not worth the thousands they charge. no for me
I'm not huge on luxury. I have a few luxury sneakers, but I doubt I will be buying anymore. At $1000 on average for sneakers, its not worth it.
I love the LV logo.. especially when it’s my initials.. ❤❤❤
I have bought many LV bags. I too have been looking elsewhere. I have enjoyed finding other brands including contemporary brands that are well made. One in particular is Dooney and Bourke Florentine collection. The leather smells Devine!!
Too bad they’re cheaply made with a cotton lining.
😂 thanks for your opinion. *clutches beloved LV bag & heads out the door*
Let’s face it, “quiet luxury” is no different than logos. People now want to show status with bags that have no logo, but are recognizable. What’s the difference?
Can you do a video about Mark Jacobs and Tory Burch if there good quality brands thank you!
That's a great idea, I'll add them to my list, thank you!
I am not a NASCAR driver and LV is not paying me to be their walking billboard. So no I do not own LV, nor do I plan to purchase from them.
I totally agree with the video. I’m so over the monogram, it’s boring. You walk down the road carrying an LV bag and everyone is wondering if it’s fake or real because there is no much difference when looking at the two.
I respect you opinion
Louis Vuitton bags will never be over - I can guarantee that!!
Overall, I have only liked a handful of bags since I first got into it 15 years ago. My likes have dwindled even more….. waiting on some cool bags to fit my style and match my shoes.
Yes I do notice lv has the some old logo I get colorful ones that match my outfit. I'm tired of looking at old designs.
I want less people to wear LV!… But for me, I love my Louis Vuitton and I’m unapologetic about my love for monogram canvas. 😂
We’re into fashion business, so we travel first class to
All over the world with style, That was 30 yrs. Ago. But then my lifestyle change, I got divorced, my daughter got married.
Chanel got so popular, Gucci and Hermes was very much in demand. Back to Asia, there’s a lot of counterfeit products. LV
Just lost interest on LV cuz m feeling is not the same anymore.
A few seasons from now LV will be the IT brand soon ‘quite luxury’ is done. 😏 Quite luxury has always existed with brands during the logo mania.
I agree with you and never liked or purchased LV!
I rather buy honest quality over a brand name anyday.
LV is as classic as it gets.
What is tacky is wearing everything LV all at once lol: scarf, earrings, belt, bag etc. the only prints I like is the subtle empreite and the damier azur.
I’ve moved on from luxury collecting but my collection is complete lol
Not tacky at all! it’s classic and to each their own! but don’t let fashion and style define you. it’s you who define your own style and fashion. now, read it again.
I love the logo l just hate the brown LV bag.but love the black LV men version
The modern luxury brands aren't making anything amazing. Compare the modern with the old vintage releases, it's like night and day.
I have LV bags, they are not tacky. Instead, I love the monogram, I think it was classic. How do you want to have an LV bag and not the monograms? I love Capuccines too but having the monogram is a must.
I feel this way about LV, Chanel, and Gucci (and to a certain extent Prada too).
I think people should wear what makes them feel happy. I think other people opinions doesn’t matter. It’s their money and their choice. So be happy and if you don’t have anything good to say, shut your mouth 🤫. Thanks for sharing 😊
Your right about it’s tacky, I hate looking at purse that looks like a box or a trunk
I hate the monogram and find it ugly. I personally think Ferragamo or Delvaux when I think of luxury brands.
LV is timeless and never tacky. Just my opinion
😅
Truthfully as much as LV has been replicated- Chanel also has been replicated so it would also be considered tacky too! And believe me I have a lot of LV and a lot of Chanel….
Your opinion is what it is because the entire luxury market is over! Over since COVID
Luxury is waste of money. There are much cheaper products with similar quality
No there clothes the lv print is tacky.
There’s a lot of judgement in your reasoning which means to me that you still haven’t settled your convictions about this topic
Same, I thought it was just me, I do carry my damier ebene delightful mm as a work bag because of the fact that it doesn't have the LV monogram on it...I guess I have moved on Hermes because of the quiet luxury nee the Birkin and Kelly bag...
Same and it’s funny bc I do admire their bags on others 😆
I love my bags. They are mostly vintage. 80’s-90’s LV is the good stuff. Buy used, enjoy n move on.
Yes, LV to me looks very tacky and cheap. I always avoided that brand.
Bankrupt 😂
LVMH does not go bankrupt
Lol 🤷🏽♀️
