Well nobody gets to the lore part when they can't get past the difficulty spikes in the games XD But yes, the lore is soooo good. I'm always drawn into it when playing
Cause we didn't care. I've skipped every single line of text without reading as much as the first word. I also play without music so I don't know how amazing it is. I also didn't care about how good it looks cause when u're in a juiced map surrounded by enemies and everything burns and exploded it will look like shit anyway. 😂
Great breakdown of the early parts of the lore of PoE 2! A small tidbit, that I don't think you mentioned: In the Manor Ramparts, on the way to Ogham Manor and the Count, the player encounters The Gallows. Those are the gallows from the character select screen, where the classes you don't choose get hanged.
A small detail that you didn't mention is that Geonor's biggest secret that pushes him to doubt himself is that there are one or more Eternals in his bloodline, so he is not a pure Ezomite. Very nice video nonetheless. Thanks!
@@ZillahEnoch main reason he went crazy is he needed to pee but his mansion was so god damn big he could not find a toilet so he turned into a wolf to be able to pee at a tree but the shit map was too big so he just lost it
Thank you for helping make more content on the cool lore of poe. which is usually overlooked. my first playthrough i read just about everything and its super awesome.
Definitely they are keeping a huge suspense with the upcoming 3 acts. The story is about 40% revealed, and what may come next will definitely surprise us. They didn't create this cinematic trailer just to keep it up with the current trend, they did on purpose so they can tell the story properly, and I have the feeling it won't be the only cinematic trailer PoE 2 will have.
A good overview of act 1. its getting interesting for sure though with only a part available it gonna be interesting what the final 3 acts will bring to the table.
I feel the fear wasn't inadecuacy but that people learn that the Count clan was afflicted by lycanthropy in order to survive the winter after the rebellion. There are notes that states "people knew" about a secret, more than thougt about his qualifications. It also explain the amount of werewolves in Act1
Also there is a link between Geonor and the frost witch named Beira of the Rotten pack in Clearfell. Geonor has a line "of Beira's misery...the won't forget" And Beira drops Head of the winter wolf on death aswell as she summons undead wolfs Geonor wolf form also named Putrid wolf. So he knows her(?) and they both share themes of rot, frost and wolfs.
I understood it as werewolves being part of the clan because they are blessed by The Old Ones. The secret he's talking about is that he has Eternal blood in his ancestry making him impure and paranoid about stuff. I've looked at every lore bit in every act just to see what stuff might mean.
@@Midaspl But only after he gives in to the corruption. When he transforms into a wolf in the 1st stage of the fight he's a proper wolf without corruption and two mouths
@@KerzahdGaming Agreed, I think turning into a wolf is considered reasonably normal by Ezomyte standards. Rigwald, the Wolven King was doing that in PoE1. The Druid class is probably going to be a shapeshifting Ezomyte too.
So good! More!!! I tried to follow the story but being new to POE, it felt like I was missing context of the world. This is a great way to get that missing context. Thanks!
It's really cool that they start us off with the Ezomytes. We almost never see much from them in PoE 1. Talisman league was my very first full league so it feels like its come full circle.
Never played this style of video games until POE2 caught my attention. The lore is INCREDIBLE, thank you for sharing, def gave better perspective & now I have way more interest on continuing the rest!
I'm new to POE and I try to listen to characters and read the lores in the game as I play. But it feels better to watch a video as it feels complete and streamlined. And honestly i tend to forget the minor details as i progress. So it's nice to listen and learn everything in one sitting. Thanks and kudos for making this.
It was explained to me that these people are the vile types of criminals that can’t be forgiven. Could be wrong though, bc they hint at these people simply being enemies of maraketh
I was getting a little lost with the story on my first play through until I remembered that you have to go back and constantly talk to the NPCs to get updates on lore and the story.
Thank you for the content you create. I started watching your channel becuase of Diablo 4 story . Diablo 4 is my first ever RPG GAME. But you made it understandable for me. I understood the story so thank you.
Great video, it complements GGGs excellent level-design and enemies. In general, the game's atmosphere is so dreary and dark, I'm in love with it. The details around the mobs becoming more and more afflicted by the Seed as you come closer to it is really cool! I'll be waiting for the rest of these videos.
Great video! Since I stumbled into the desolate battleground & graveyard of the Titans in PoE2 (Act II, Valley of the Titans) I'm intrigged to find some lore of them and why they fell. But I could not find any clues yet. 😔
much better at doing lore videos than playing the game 😉. when you're playing it's like you're scared to take time to think about stuff and just close your eyes and click stuff to keep moving on and hope for the best. that lore video though was something else. 10/10
Great video! Almost makes me want to play POE2 again. I won't, though, because of all the issues and the constant crashing for textures not being found. I'm enjoying replaying poe1 instead while they sort out 2.
Who do you think the final boss will be? I think there’s three options: Oriana, the Beast or the Hooded One. I kind of think the Beast would be most interesting, the Hooded One, knowing who he is, would be cool as well (though we‘d need an explanation why he wants to fight us all of a sudden), Oriana as the final boss would be kind of meh, even if she definitely transforms into a corrupted and monstrous form. I think she should be a big story boss in the final Act but not the final boss itself. I think fighting a legendary creature in the Beast, a huge Eldritch abomination would be great.
I actually appreciated quite a bit in POE2 that I can generally follow the broad strokes of the story (follow the seed, contain the seed, oh my god the seed is out of control how do we stop it?!?) while never knowing almost any of these details. I even clicked on a lot of the optional dialogue because it was cool, but I didn't retain much beyond vibes from it. I had levels to gain, after all. Contrasting with POE1, I made it about 30 minutes before I gave up even trying to understand anything beyond "go to that zone over there and kill monsters." It really shows the difference between a company that has paid for professional and experienced game writers who know how to sketch out a plot and also fill in lore details, versus the original POE1 devs who were just a bunch of Diablo nerd computer programmers in a garage when they wrote most of it.
Honestly, if you struggle to understand the plot of poe1, I wonder how are you even able to play the game of that level of complexity. The story is not hard to follow at all.
@@kekplexis It's mostly that the presentation was so bad that I stopped listening to any dialogue very quickly in favor of going to kill more stuff. POE2's dialogue windows are a lot shorter and even when you skip through some of it the broad strokes are still evident from the stuff happening in the world, it's not all dialogue based.
@@ladnil you must be a gen z with a short attention span in this case. Appreciating the story the game has to offer is probably an acquired skill for people like you, but for me it's never a problem. Skipping the story is something I would never do, because I'd rather stop playing at all then, which I do very rarely.
Is there much lore around the player classes? Really interested in witches in this universe but not sure how much there is to know. Not much luck finding anything

That one seems fairly obvious but also not critical to the story and he did say he was going to focus on the critical details
