I’m aware the Simpsons debuted in December 1989 and cover it in the video. The commercial announcing its premiere gives the date January 14 and given The Simpsons craze largely took place in 1990, that year is mentioned more.

I have an interesting story from my childhood that didn’t make sense until I saw the original Tracy ullman show shorts last month (I downloaded the complete Simpson’s series up to season 9). I was born in 91 and when I was 2 or 3 my mom would leave my brother and I at a baby sitters house while she worked. Well, one day during nap time, the baby sitter’s daughter who was like 8-9 was trying to hypnotize me into going to sleep. She swung a pendulum back and forth while saying “you are getting very sleepy”. I had hardly ever thought about that memory until I saw a Tracy ullman show short with Bart doing that exact same thing. And then I realized she must have seen that or been around other people who had.
Pretty impressive that despite hitting its peak in popularity 30 years ago the show is still doing relatively fine in ratings today all things considered
how is the word hell considered swearing? I miss that old music they used to use at 2:18 for their promos, they also used to use it for the end credits, why did they stop using it anyways and what is that music called?
I guess it just depends on the context. If you're referring to the actual Hell then it's less objectionable to say.

90s Bartmania was the shit! I'm so jealous my old cousin got to experience it. No wonder his oldest son, my nephew, is named Bart, and he lives up to his namesake. The 90s were the time of the Simpsons, seasons 2-8 were TV cartoon masterpieces and Bart Simpson was a hero and icon for us misfits trying to do our best.

@@picsnportraits Amazing. I really get an odd sense of hauntology watching /listening to your sleepcore content. I grew up in Ireland watching the Simpsons and SkyOne, the channel with a monopoly over their content used to make cool adverts and also in later years got a dominos pizza sponsorship and they used to make zany adverts. picsandportraits 7:54 I curious if you know that the lip syncing is intentionally imprecise on The Simpsons in order to enable re-dubbing lines if the writers were not satisfied with the initial dialogue. It works with your voice-over.

Actually, the show debuted in December 1989. They started using the opening sequence in January 1990.
Boy, I really hope somebody got fired for that blunder.
Pictures and Portraits. It did. The show premiered in December 1989 with the Christmas special as their first episode. By January 1990, they start using the 1st opening sequence with Bart The Genius and last appeared on Some Enchanted Evening, aired on 05-13-90. It was later removed in favor of the 1990-2009 intro premiered in the second season (1990-1991).
I always found Bart to be pretty damn annoying as a kid, Homer has always been the best of the family by far
I feel really old because I was born in the 80s. Most people on the internet claim they were born in the 2000s but I don't know if I believe them. I love The Simpsons but I admit that I'm old.❤ I remember this time. A bunch of Christian fundamentalists who wanted to cancel everything.
