Hey aditi..Im preparing for SSC Cgl....it will be my 1st attempt this year...there were ppl who didn't support me, never believed in my potential & didn't acknowledge my growth(they were my college professors)knowing the fact that i was my department topper they sowed a seed of self doubt inside my head...honestly i want to clear this exam for myself & make my family proud...

Hi guys! This might be an unpopular opinion but i want to share! Please dont make UPSC your dream. You can work super hard and do nothing else and it still all comes down to luck. My dream was to work for the conservation of wildlife and i thought cracking upsc and becoming a forest officer was the only way. I slogggged for two years and missed the prelims cut off by 2-3 marks each time. I'm doing my Masters in Wildlife Conservation now and ACTUALLY learning what aids conservation instead of polity and geography and history. So unless ur dream is just to have power dont get sucked into the UPSC rabbit hole. There are other ways to achieve your dreams.

It’s sad to see people spending a lot of years on this journey, only to be disappointed in the end. But I guess, some people only want to give it a fair fight once or twice. And I always tell everyone to always have a plan, if UPSC doesn’t work out. There are so many incredibly talented people who are unable to clear the exam. This exam doesn’t determine anybody’s worth. It’s just incredibly glorified, that’s all.
