@@PBKreviewsBased on your Pixel 6a disassemly video as my main guide (+Fixit guide and a few other vids), as a complete noob I was able to disassemble and reassemble my Pixel phone and make serious repairs on it including desoldering by a 10 bucks solder iron and a 10 bucks magnyfier lens and 10 bucks worth other tools. and it was the very first smartphone I ever opened. Last time I did something like this was 30y ago as a kid, with Amiga computer. BTW you could go one step furtehr with that earpice mic module which is built together with the flash and the flex cable to the buttons (unfortunately). Will you show us if the phone works if you desolder the GPS chip? :)
Ps.: I made a mistake and now I have to find a glue to glue the display frame of Pixel 6a (that plastic) to the display. The glass and the display is intact.

02:49 Just a quick question here. Since the back plate of the phone is nice and flat, without various bumpy parts sticking up (like the phone body has), wouldn't it make more sense to fit the ready-made sealing strip to the back cover of the phone first, then press the back plate (with the sealing strip already attached) onto the phone? Is there any reason NOT to do it that way?

    • @PBKreviews

I've never used anything aside from the adhesive tape itself so I can't give you any recommendations on that. I think it's best to just use what the phone originally came with. In most cases the original pre cut adhesive, but if you can't find it, then resort to adhesive roles that you cut yourself, but they are never as good as the original adhesive pre cut tape that is made for the phones.

300LSE is pretty sticky and strong, however check mobiledefenders.com first and see if they carry any pre cut adhesive which is made for your phone model or if any are available online at other marketplaces before using adhesive stripes you need to cut yourself since the pre cut ones are made for the material of the phone and always work best.

If it's already going bad and coming off, you won't need a heat gun to pry it off. But you will need to remove the back plate to replace the adhesive for it. Depending on the model, there are pre cut adhesives made for the phone that you apply once you remove the old adhesive.

( Thank you for your Video.)( As a Customer in which now, we are all forced to have our Phones to function. No Pay Phones for Emergencies, or the thousands of Homeless People, who need affordable Pay Phones!)(Ridiculous and disgusting how our Cell Phones ever started to be made with Glue! This was obviously a plan to Leech/Con more money from Customer's! ( My last Cell Phones had a secure 'Snap Together')( I was forced by Sprint to go to a 5 G, which is less effective in Internet Speed. This so called Free Phone, I still paid a lot in Taxes on it. Now having to worry about 'Adhesive', and this Phone is only 7 months old, and one whole side and bottom coming unglued! Truly Disgusting!)

Did you know how to repair a water damaged smartphone??

First thing you need to do when a phone gets into water (that is not water resistant or passes the amount of resistance the phone can withstand) is to make sure to turn it off and not try to use it. Then take it apart as soon as possible to disconnect the battery cable so the phone parts do not short. After you would need to dry out any water or moisture inside the phone and then use a tooth brush or something similar to brush off corrosion on any chips or connectors. If needed you can use bw-100 electronic contact cleaner if the corrosion is bad and wont brush off. After all that you put the phone back together and see if it works.

@@PBKreviews I think it's too late my phone has already dead in almost 3 months, because of water. If I do that, did you think it's still gonna be work? Also the water is already dry. Only the motherboard that I need to clean or the charging port too?

It is okay to use WD-40 to fix the water damaged phone? Bw-100 it's not available in the hardware store.
