The best thing about YiSeo's feelings for Saeroyi is the fact that she didn't sit around and wait for him to achieve his dreams; she literally was the foundation for his success. Let's not lie to ourselves, without her, he wouldn't have been able to do so much and get so far. She was his lucky charm. I related to Sooah because I also like to put myself first in everything, but if I had a love rival like YiSeo, I would have proclaimed my defeat long before she did. YiSeo didn't wait around like Sooah for saeroyi's greatness, she gave it to him.
She is the ultimate boss 100%. And whats crazy is that she never claims a feminist, complains about gender related stuff nor ever demands for equality like the typical feminazis you see today. She works hard and smart, making her a total badass
@Joan I think the show did it realistically. Sooah didn't have a choice but to live her life the way she did. Saeroyi left for 7 years to do his own thing and she had to live on, she didn't have anyone else in life. And when he came back she was 30 and well settled in her life, she couldn't leave it all for someone who is unsettled and just starting out. It was easier for YiSeo because she was 19 and had time to start out. That being said Sooah could have joined him when she saw him doing well but for some reason she still chose to work with the enemy lol
that is exactly whats wrong with this drama. instead of developing psj's character as a super smart entrepreneur, they made yi seo to be the main reason for success. which made the 'revenge' feel less satisfactory. and it made their love team feel forced. besides, every thing yiseo did for saeroyi, soo ah could've done better- it's just that she needed to stay with the enemy to bring them down eventually.

The nail in the coffin was her pride getting hurt when heard the chairman didn't really value her. That was the reason she did it, not for Park Saeroyi but herself

Yiseo's love for Saeroyi is probably the purest love i've seen in Kdrama. When Saeroyi said that "love is not a give and take" she swallows that and stand by it until the very end. All she ever wanted was for him to see her as something more and for him to be happy, never in a slightest moment she wants him to return what she ever sacrificed for him and his dreams. The purest and the kindest love. Truly mesmerizing.
When he told her to not do that to him like doing and saying things that she loved him, I feel terribly hurt for her. It has been many years since the first moment she realized her heart belonged to him. And when she accidentally met him and Soo ah in the coffee, her eyes could tell that she was hurt as hell. I just want to see them as a couple asap, they are meant for each other ~
Like for real though it takes her LOT of patience and bravery to keep her one - sided love for such a long time, not to mention all the hardships she has had to go through in this relationship. That's so sad, because this means that what she said to Hyun Yi in the hospital is true-she's always *earning* her existence in his life. Before Saeroyi knew that she loved him, that was never the case. She entered his pub as a confident, self-made woman who knows that she can be a great manager with just minimal effort. *She* *knows* *that* *he* *needs* *her,* *not* *the* *other* *way* *around.* For the first months, she thought that the job was not as important as her well-being, and it's obvious because she tends to go on walks or a vacation when she feels stressed about her work. I think saeroyi doesnt realize it.. bcs she always be there for him. He confuse between love and family, like hyunyi said to yiseo.. So in the last episode and added more time jump in the story, he was change.. bcs he know bfr time jump.. yiseo alr confess her feeling.. So, he can differentiate feeling love / family between him and yiseo. He also stop doing skinship after yiseo confess. Lol And honestly he is only doing skinship with yiseo. No one in dambam got special treatment like he did to yiseo 🤣

Sae roy showed his discomfort feelings when yi seo saw him hanging out with soo ah, as if its not their routine lol. I mean sae roy still not accepting yi seo's love at that moment, why he acts guilty all of sudden? Sae roy, you have fallen into yi seo without realizing it

Of all the kdrama’s I’ve watched and fantasised, yi seo and se ro yi are my favourite couple because the love for each other is seriously so pure and is as well as deep. I mean the scene where she looks at his scars and cry. I cried too. I don’t know why. The way she actually wants to make his life amazing is something really so so pure and really romantic. Not all the love is about dating, being clingy and touchy and stuff. Love is when you are really there for someone in the hardest times and like them even after knowing their real character. YiSeo is an amazing character, she came to love a man who was an ex convict, still struggling financially, did not have a college degree, he's not an ideal man for any girl who's materialistic like her mother and Soah..I remember when Soah told YiSeo that she doesn't know SaeRoYi, and she answered that she knows he's an ex convict and that makes him more attractive to her, that already made me judge Soah that she's embarrassed at SaeRoYi's background...Soah never cared or love SaeRoYi , while YiSeo saw SaeRoYi's inner strength( his goodness, his strong moral integrity) that was what fascinated her at first until that curiosity turns to love as she declared when she cried while resting her head at SaeRoYi's lap( I cried with her on that particular scene)...so yeah..YiSeo proved her love to SaeRoYi by helping him became the man he is now..a rich man...so yeah..what an amazing character YiSeo is, who wouldn't be in love with her..glad that finally before it was to late, SaeRoYi realizes that..I'm now looking forward for the culmination of this love story...just saying.

“You finally see me as a woman.” The absolute hope and relief and inevitability in her voice is just!! And their chemistry is so great, I don’t get why so many people hate on them. They had a well developed relationship and were friends first before it even got romantic. I feel like a lot of people dislike them because they A) Are mad that Saeroyi didn’t meet Yi Seo first and instead met Soo Ah, but didn’t stay with her. Which. Happens in real life. You don’t always live happily ever after with your first love. B) Because Yi Seo isn’t like a typical female drama lead, but IMO that’s what makes her so refreshing. They still made her really human and didn’t over exaggerate her mental illness by having her stab everyone in the back and rub her hands together menacingly in the background, but did show her growing and managing her sociopathy to the point of being able to develop genuine empathy and love for not only Saeroyi but also her friends and establish meaningful relationships not based off of greed or for personal gain. Soo Ah and Saeroyi’s relationship has always been shallow to me. At the most she was his first love, crush, even. They didn’t have a grownup relationship and Soo Ah only ever tried to confess to Saeroyi when it’d benefit her and she felt like she had no other viable option. She was using him to get ahead when Yi Seo wanted him to succeed and dedicated years and time and her reputation and even sacrificed her relationship with her mom to help him (and eventually the entire danbam crew) reach their goal.

Gosh I adore them and this drama. She has always, always pulled the rug from under him. It's a gorgeous romance that come from genuine sentiment. So unlike other kdramas, I cannot get over it.
Itaewon Class was beautifully done. I just loved how it ended. The story, the characters, the diversity, the revenge, the acceptance, the forgiveness, the success and the love. I’m so glad Saeroyi succeeded, it was inspiring. I’m also glad he chose Yi-seo over Soo ah. Yi-seo deserved Saeroyi’s love more. This is my favourite kdrama and it really resonates with me. I never knew I could love a show so much where it has me thinking about it a lot. I hope I’m able to find unconditional love one day. I really learned a lot from Saeroyi. Being honest with yourself is very important. This show is going to take me a while to get over it.

I absolutely LOVE Yi seo as a character,and I love that she`s played by Kim Da mi.She is selfish,at times ignorant and possessing no ounce of empathy,but she`s also loyal,supportive and confident.And I love that Saeroyi is the kind of character that he is.Because you can totally see why anyone would fall in love with him.Itaewon Class is a drama adorned by imperfect,layered characters and that`s AWESOME. No one is perfect and we don`t have to agree with everything characters in dramas do in order to relate to them.I love how split people are when it comes to Yi seo because that means that the writer has suceeded. I`ll take a drama like this over dramas whose characters are as dimensional as a piece of paper,thanks.
SRY just found his luck and blessing after he met YS, although his road to success is rough but how can he manage to franchise his company in just 4 years! He is continuously showered by love of this psycho girl whom just devote and sacrifice her life to him only. Thank God that he finally realizes his feelings to her! In real life no one will ever be faithful as YS especially if the one you like is just around you daily and saying that he don’t like you. 90% will just give up. So I really love YS character so unique and refreshing!
I love Yi Seo with all my heart. She grew up and learned a lot. She's my favorite character. Let me say that SaeRoyi is zaddy and I will never think anyone good enough for him (except me, natch) I always felt he needed someone who matched his work ethic, singleness of focus, loyalty, steadfastness...in other words a female version of himself. That he gravitated to SooAh is natural because alpha men rarely date alpha females. I think his feelings for SooAh were lustful teenage passion that then put her on a pedestal so high he would never reach her. Indeed, when he met SooAh on Halloween, the differences between them were stark. She was a college graduate. He was an excon with a middle school education. She was surrounded by friends he was a loner (self imposed). She had a clearly defined goal that could be achieved based on what she had already accomplished. He had a yearning for revenge that was at best a dream to keep him busy and at worst a calling that would cost him his freedom and/or life. SooAh offered him to sleep at her place on Halloween night and he declined. I think then was the beginning of SaeroYi idolizing SooAh. Effectively keeping her at arm's length and staying in this 12-year dance of push and pull. Then in comes YiSeo like an unwelcomed winter chill in the middle of Spring. She is brash, abrasive, manipulative, a bully. Seemingly the physical manifestation of all things SaeRoyi is not and/or cannot stand. Who does she think she is?!? The reaction of many to YiSeo. So I ask you friends, who does Saeroyi think he is? Look at their trains of thought are they not similar? PSR & JYS learned from each other, grew to care for others / stand up for others, be more decisive, less impulsive and yes respect was earned, given and received. Then came love. What I think many drama watchers failed to realize is that SaeRoyi declaring he liked SooAh the first time was impulsive and right for that moment. When he hinted at it on Halloween he still meant it. When he said it again while telling her he'd make it possible for her to quit Jang Ga, that was habit and hubris. He had long stopped liking her. He did and still loves SooAh but is not in love with her. The reason YiSeo and SaeRoyi are the OTP is bcz she is selflessly devoted to him, single minded in helping him succeed, and fiercely protective of him and anything/anyone in his life (except SooAh ofcourse) They are so similar thar them being together was a matter of time. I knew the PD was not going to waste the scene of her crying over his scars or her crying after being rejected. Those were key scenes. Mind you all the times SaeRoyi was professing his love for SooAh, YiSeo was doing that to him. PSR and JYS kept getting closer and closer physically (skinship), emotionally (meaningful conversations at night) and spiritually (realizing they bet their lives on an idea...his was revenge and hers was love)
My goodness @nesiedelice comments like yours get me more obssessed! Srsly! 😭 I disagree about Soo-ah being a mere lustful teenage passion since I don't see Saeroyi being lustful. He said it himself, she was his first love, a puppy love at that. She was a piece from a happy time when he still had a dad. And I think he held on to her for so long despite her betrayals because that was his way of holding on to his good memories. And that's what made her immortal to him. What you said about the bus scene is spot on, it was indeed a force of habit and not a declaration of passionate love. He was pining to get revenge, but never to have her. This is also why he was so slow to realize that he was liking and falling in love with Yiseo. He was already consumed with revenge, but it was so obvious to all of us how she makes him feel. The way he cared more for her swollen cheeks when Yiseo said she got the recording, the way he smiled drunk while Yiseo tells him he will surely win, the way he waited on the bridge for Yiseo to come back from Jeju, the way he rubbed his bowl-cut hair when Yiseo told him 'sarangheo' over the phone. I love how you described that she came as an unwelcome 'winter chill' in the middle of spring. That is indeed true. Yiseo is a quite a shock to the senses. That was how she came. But she stayed and loved him a like relentless, consuming fire, warming him in a chilly, frozen winter.
Firstly I want to notice is that fact he hasn't figured out his true feeling towards Yi Seo yet. It will be the next great stage but not this one. And I really admire Yi Seo's openness. Cus that kind of character is difficult to find nowadays.

Yet Yi Seo says it all the time to let him know that he is loved by someone. I would think ideally, a person hear and feel that they are being loved. And Soo-ah isn’t giving that feeling to SRY like Yi Seo is.
I'm so mad at 1st when she kept forcing him but I realise, she was just being honest. He could always let her go if he didn't love her. This make it so sweet up until the end when he finally love her toooo
I don't know why some people didn't like the main lead because 'they don't have the chemistry' when all throughout the series i've been screaming at how subtle Saeroyi shows his feelings to Yiseo. I get that he's been saying he likes Soo-Ah but that just it. He actually wasn't in love to Soo-Ah in the first place. It was just pure crush. It was shown in the last episode when he said his mind and heart are all filled with Yiseo, and then he ask YiSeo if that's what she feels the "heart beating". That shows he actually didn't know what being in love is.
Because they live in denial. Kim Da Mi is a good actress.She surpass other actress that partner with Park Seo Joon. To be honest this the best chemistry between Park Seo Joon and his female lead.

An extremely creative, beautiful, well written, amazingly directed drama with so many talented actors especially the two leading characters.. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰They have this extraordinary talent to convey emotions through their eyes. The script is mind blowing together with the soundtrack ❤❤ I watched this drama with all my heart..and soul...it was an emotional rollercoaster all along..I cried a lot too. I totally appreciated the fact that there was a blending of culture through the character of 'Toni', the black korean. And of course our cutie transgender Hu-ying. It will be very difficult for me to pass on to another k-drama. I feel so empty and heart broken 💔because it's over ..
The fact that I binged watch this drama in 3 days cause of Ms. Corona and self quarantine tings but I think through everything Yi seo has been added to my list of fav female characters. For me, their relationship has been a joy to watch. I differ with the fact that people may think he should be with Soo Ah. She practically needed Saeroyi to state how he felt over and over again to feed her bit of selfishness. She’s already betrayed him a couple times anyway and lacked in efforts to believe in him for his goals. Yi seo grew a lot in between the 4 yr gap and she grew into even more hardworking and understanding women. May I say “DANG GIRL YOU BOLD” LOL

@Joan I think the show did it realistically. Sooah didn't have a choice but to live her life the way she did. Saeroyi left for 7 years to do his own thing and she had to live on, she didn't have anyone else in life. And when he came back she was 30 and well settled in her life, she couldn't leave it all for someone who is unsettled and just starting out. It was easier for YiSeo because she was 19 and had time to start out. That being said Sooah could have joined him when she saw him doing well but for some reason she still chose to work with the enemy lol
that is exactly whats wrong with this drama. instead of developing psj's character as a super smart entrepreneur, they made yi seo to be the main reason for success. which made the 'revenge' feel less satisfactory. and it made their love team feel forced. besides, every thing yiseo did for saeroyi, soo ah could've done better- it's just that she needed to stay with the enemy to bring them down eventually.

Yiseo's love for Saeroyi is probably the purest love i've seen in Kdrama. When Saeroyi said that "love is not a give and take" she swallows that and stand by it until the very end. All she ever wanted was for him to see her as something more and for him to be happy, never in a slightest moment she wants him to return what she ever sacrificed for him and his dreams.

Like for real though it takes her LOT of patience and bravery to keep her one - sided love for such a long time, not to mention all the hardships she has had to go through in this relationship. I adore her so much and really think that if after all of this Ro Yi still isn't with Yi Seo in the end, I would die of feeling sad for her character.

Of all the kdrama’s I’ve watched and fantasised, yi seo and se ro yi are my favourite couple because the love for each other is seriously so pure and is as well as deep. YiSeo is an amazing character, she came to love a man who was an ex convict, still struggling financially, did not have a college degree, he's not an ideal man for any girl who's materialistic like her mother and Soah..I remember when Soah told YiSeo that she doesn't know SaeRoYi, and she answered that she knows he's an ex convict and that makes him more attractive to her, that already made me judge Soah that she's embarrassed at SaeRoYi's background...Soah never cared or love SaeRoYi , while YiSeo saw SaeRoYi's inner strength( his goodness, his strong moral integrity) that was what fascinated her at first until that curiosity turns to love as she declared when she cried while resting her head at SaeRoYi's lap( I cried with her on that particular scene)...so yeah..YiSeo proved her love to SaeRoYi by helping him became the man he is now..a rich man...so yeah..what an amazing character YiSeo is, who wouldn't be in love with her..glad that finally before it was to late, SaeRoYi realizes that..I'm now looking forward for the culmination of this love story...just saying.

A) Are mad that Saeroyi didn’t meet Yi Seo first and instead met Soo Ah, but didn’t stay with her. Which. Happens in real life. You don’t always live happily ever after with your first love.
B) Because Yi Seo isn’t like a typical female drama lead, but IMO that’s what makes her so refreshing. They still made her really human and didn’t over exaggerate her mental illness by having her stab everyone in the back and rub her hands together menacingly in the background, but did show her growing and managing her sociopathy to the point of being able to develop genuine empathy and love for not only Saeroyi but also her friends and establish meaningful relationships not based off of greed or for personal gain.
Soo Ah and Saeroyi’s relationship has always been shallow to me. At the most she was his first love, crush, even. They didn’t have a grownup relationship and Soo Ah only ever tried to confess to Saeroyi when it’d benefit her and she felt like she had no other viable option. She was using him to get ahead when Yi Seo wanted him to succeed and dedicated years and time and her reputation and even sacrificed her relationship with her mom to help him (and eventually the entire danbam crew) reach their goal.

He was always in love with her and it was evident since the first time she said she loved him. He made up excuses about age differences and the first thing he brought up was the his friend liked her and that she said she would be with him and that "that's how it's supposed to be." He was always trying to abide by his principles of not betraying his friend until he finally realized what he was doing for YEARS! Yi Seo was always the one for him!

Gosh I adore them and this drama. She has always, always pulled the rug from under him. It's a gorgeous romance that come from genuine sentiment. So unlike other kdramas, I cannot get over it.

Itaewon Class was beautifully done. I just loved how it ended. The story, the characters, the diversity, the revenge, the acceptance, the forgiveness, the success and the love. I’m so glad Saeroyi succeeded, it was inspiring. I’m also glad he chose Yi-seo over Soo ah. Yi-seo deserved Saeroyi’s love more. This is my favourite kdrama and it really resonates with me. I never knew I could love a show so much where it has me thinking about it a lot. I hope I’m able to find unconditional love one day. I really learned a lot from Saeroyi. Being honest with yourself is very important. This show is going to take me a while to get over it.

No one is perfect and we don`t have to agree with everything characters in dramas do in order to relate to them.I love how split people are when it comes to Yi seo because that means that the writer has suceeded. I`ll take a drama like this over dramas whose characters are as dimensional as a piece of paper,thanks.

He is continuously showered by love of this psycho girl whom just devote and sacrifice her life to him only. Thank God that he finally realizes his feelings to her! In real life no one will ever be faithful as YS especially if the one you like is just around you daily and saying that he don’t like you. 90% will just give up. So I really love YS character so unique and refreshing!

I love Yi Seo with all my heart. She grew up and learned a lot. She's my favorite character. She's just so pure, bold and true, she helped and loved Saeroyi wholeheartedly, cheering for his happpiness and helping him in every way she could. I was so happy when he finally >saw< her, they make a great pair ❤
Let me say that SaeRoyi is zaddy and I will never think anyone good enough for him (except me, natch)
I always felt he needed someone who matched his work ethic, singleness of focus, loyalty, steadfastness...in other words a female version of himself.
That he gravitated to SooAh is natural because alpha men rarely date alpha females. I think his feelings for SooAh were lustful teenage passion that then put her on a pedestal so high he would never reach her.
Indeed, when he met SooAh on Halloween, the differences between them were stark. She was a college graduate. He was an excon with a middle school education. She was surrounded by friends he was a loner (self imposed). She had a clearly defined goal that could be achieved based on what she had already accomplished. He had a yearning for revenge that was at best a dream to keep him busy and at worst a calling that would cost him his freedom and/or life.
SooAh offered him to sleep at her place on Halloween night and he declined. I think then was the beginning of SaeroYi idolizing SooAh. Effectively keeping her at arm's length and staying in this 12-year dance of push and pull.
Then in comes YiSeo like an unwelcomed winter chill in the middle of Spring. She is brash, abrasive, manipulative, a bully. Seemingly the physical manifestation of all things SaeRoyi is not and/or cannot stand. Who does she think she is?!? The reaction of many to YiSeo. So I ask you friends, who does Saeroyi think he is? Look at their trains of thought are they not similar?
PSR & JYS learned from each other, grew to care for others / stand up for others, be more decisive, less impulsive and yes respect was earned, given and received.
Then came love. What I think many drama watchers failed to realize is that SaeRoyi declaring he liked SooAh the first time was impulsive and right for that moment. When he hinted at it on Halloween he still meant it. When he said it again while telling her he'd make it possible for her to quit Jang Ga, that was habit and hubris. He had long stopped liking her. He did and still loves SooAh but is not in love with her.
The reason YiSeo and SaeRoyi are the OTP is bcz she is selflessly devoted to him, single minded in helping him succeed, and fiercely protective of him and anything/anyone in his life (except SooAh ofcourse)
They are so similar thar them being together was a matter of time. I knew the PD was not going to waste the scene of her crying over his scars or her crying after being rejected. Those were key scenes.
Mind you all the times SaeRoyi was professing his love for SooAh, YiSeo was doing that to him. PSR and JYS kept getting closer and closer physically (skinship), emotionally (meaningful conversations at night) and spiritually (realizing they bet their lives on an idea...his was revenge and hers was love)

I disagree about Soo-ah being a mere lustful teenage passion since I don't see Saeroyi being lustful. He said it himself, she was his first love, a puppy love at that. She was a piece from a happy time when he still had a dad. And I think he held on to her for so long despite her betrayals because that was his way of holding on to his good memories. And that's what made her immortal to him.
What you said about the bus scene is spot on, it was indeed a force of habit and not a declaration of passionate love. He was pining to get revenge, but never to have her.
This is also why he was so slow to realize that he was liking and falling in love with Yiseo. He was already consumed with revenge, but it was so obvious to all of us how she makes him feel. The way he cared more for her swollen cheeks when Yiseo said she got the recording, the way he smiled drunk while Yiseo tells him he will surely win, the way he waited on the bridge for Yiseo to come back from Jeju, the way he rubbed his bowl-cut hair when Yiseo told him 'sarangheo' over the phone.
I love how you described that she came as an unwelcome 'winter chill' in the middle of spring. That is indeed true. Yiseo is a quite a shock to the senses.
That was how she came. But she stayed and loved him a like relentless, consuming fire, warming him in a chilly, frozen winter.

Firstly I want to notice is that fact he hasn't figured out his true feeling towards Yi Seo yet. It will be the next great stage but not this one. And I really admire Yi Seo's openness. Cus that kind of character is difficult to find nowadays.

Yesss. It’s time for him to not only give love to others but start accepting love. Soo-ah has never confessed to SRY and she keeps making him confess as if she needs the reassurance. Yet Yi Seo says it all the time to let him know that he is loved by someone. I would think ideally, a person hear and feel that they are being loved. And Soo-ah isn’t giving that feeling to SRY like Yi Seo is.

I don't know why some people didn't like the main lead because 'they don't have the chemistry' when all throughout the series i've been screaming at how subtle Saeroyi shows his feelings to Yiseo. I get that he's been saying he likes Soo-Ah but that just it. He actually wasn't in love to Soo-Ah in the first place. It was just pure crush. It was shown in the last episode when he said his mind and heart are all filled with Yiseo, and then he ask YiSeo if that's what she feels the "heart beating". That shows he actually didn't know what being in love is.
Because they live in denial. Kim Da Mi is a good actress.She surpass other actress that partner with Park Seo Joon. To be honest this the best chemistry between Park Seo Joon and his female lead.

An extremely creative, beautiful, well written, amazingly directed drama with so many talented actors especially the two leading characters.. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰They have this extraordinary talent to convey emotions through their eyes. The script is mind blowing together with the soundtrack ❤❤ I watched this drama with all my heart..and soul...it was an emotional rollercoaster all along..I cried a lot too. I totally appreciated the fact that there was a blending of culture through the character of 'Toni', the black korean. And of course our cutie transgender Hu-ying.
It will be very difficult for me to pass on to another k-drama. I feel so empty and heart broken 💔because it's over ..

The fact that I binged watch this drama in 3 days cause of Ms. Corona and self quarantine tings but I think through everything Yi seo has been added to my list of fav female characters. For me, their relationship has been a joy to watch. I differ with the fact that people may think he should be with Soo Ah. She practically needed Saeroyi to state how he felt over and over again to feed her bit of selfishness. She’s already betrayed him a couple times anyway and lacked in efforts to believe in him for his goals. Yi seo grew a lot in between the 4 yr gap and she grew into even more hardworking and understanding women. May I say “DANG GIRL YOU BOLD” LOL
