Every assist has to be a mid because otherwise if you hit a high attack at the same time you get a completely unblockable hit, which is completely unfair. That's why only the point character can go high or low, to prevent both at once
I'm running Super Baby 2 with UI Goku C assist and Ginyu B, and the synergy of UI with Super Baby is just impressive + his C (I'm gonna grab you anywhere on screen) assist is one of the best in the game.

At first it was for the meme, now I just genuinely love it. It's a good defensive tool, it's a good assist in neutral, it's a good anti-assist assist due to his invul, it punishes whiffs well, and you can tack it onto the end of any combo for a free DR knockdown, no matter how scaled the combo may be.

For Ginyu C, 5H would have been more interesting than 5M. It could have stood out as being the only C assist you had to block low for.

2h c assists are kinda jank, I think if you're going to use a c assist then auto tracks and beams are the way to go
