ODUN IFA AGIDAN OYO (mysterious mountain)

The Yoruba tribe of South -west part of Nigeria have been described as a people with a rich Cultural heritage.
OkE AGIDAN FESTIVAL is an annual festival and one of the glamorous Cultural festivals in South west Nigeria.
OKE AGIDAN FESTIVAL has developed into a tourism event that attracts thousands of tourists across the globe who come to witness different Cultural activities i.e Cultural dances,Cultural chants,Orisa praises and worships being carried out by the priests and priestesses. They come to experience Yoruba Spirituality etc.
OKE AGIDAN is the biggest mountain in Oyo town,which has numbers of caves that contain over 500 deities and Ifa sacred palm tree that has 16 branches, and this palm tree was originally left by ORUNMILA (god of divinity)to OYO EMPIRE.
The history of Orunmila is incomplete without AGIDAN sacred mountain and palmtree,when we are taking about where ORUNMILA lived-in amidst other deities
The festival is usually an opportunity to pay homage to Orunmila and other deities as well as to pray for continue peace and prosperity of the people, the Town as well as the visitors.
People's belief is that, coming for the festival is coming to a sacred place, where they make requests and personal consultations with the deities.
The festival helps us to keep connected to our root and culture,our African traditional values, our origin and a time to forget all the problems of life and to embrace good hopes.
