Hello everyone, hope you've had a wonderful week:) Today I'm sharing a few favourite timeless and elegant outfits plus a few handy tips that I reach for when it's hot outside. Do you have a favourite look? I think I'm on countdown to our holidays now:) I've got that customary cold you get when you start to wind down for 5 minutes and I'm soooo looking forward to spending the days mooching from sun lounger to dinner haha! Hello Jess, well I just got back from 2 weeks in Newfoundland, 🇨🇦. All your choices are great and I did take with me some if the same as it was Hot and Humid! A white cotton shirt as a shacket, Bretton top, striped red/white tee, a safari style putty colour dress, long jersey knit brown skirt, black pleated crop tencel pants, three pairs of jeans! Lol. Only wore one. I love those pale pinks and blues for summer, I took a thin pink cashmere sweater for the cool maritime mornings. Running shoes and a pair of burkinstock style sandals in neutral. I let my hair go wavy as you did and also did a loose up do. I ended up buying a navy linen dress while there. What I need is a pair of those khaki trousers! On my list. Thanks again for the tips. You look amazing as usual, fringe is cute!

I live in a hot climate. The coolest fabrics to wear are very thin linen, rayon or cotton that is OPAQUE without a lining. As soon as you add a slip or camisole underneath, you are creating a layer of air that insulates and retains body heat.

Your clothes are always beautifully ironed, that’s very chic! So many women don’t bother, and it just ruins their outfits, especially linen ones. Ironing is a pain, but so worth it.

Hello Jess! Love the green dress 😉 Here in Italy we have over 35° temperatures and we risk draught so jeans are well closed in the closet! I prefer dresses to skirts because they are easy to wear: one thing and you’re done!

Thank you great ideas for summer. I love the white, soft colours and the midi. I found my pastels looked washed out in the Caribbean sun so I “had” to buy bright pinks and blues there, otherwise always a winner.

But are made from linen dress,high-quality cotton dress, viceo dress. Very over size. Pieces but are very beautiful and comfortable to wear in the heat. Sorry for miss spelling if one word. Hello Jess! Love the look jeans and stripes, tropical green dress and the blue dress. I am waiting for a two long skirts deliver, I hope ot will fit good. I love beiges, blue and green (not pop green, soft green - olive or safari ...????). I have some pairs of beige/cream trousers, I adore mix them with my shirts and blouses (all in soft colors)! Almost my whole wardrobe is comprised these light colors: white, cream, light beiges and taupes, and the cooler pastel pinks, blues and greens. These are the colors the work best with my soft, light, cool coloring, and I love them. I also have some darker basics like navy and khaki green, but the light shades are by far my favorites.

Hi lovely, if there’s less fabric I use a hair bobble and just wrap the extra fabric back on itself. It helps keep them in place and looks a little neater x
Hello Ms. Jess, Linen, linen oh how I love linen. Living in a desert, it is imperative to have natural lightweight fabrics. I absolutely love your linen white dress(I purchased a similar one), your chevon style dress, the yellow dress & really all of your outfits 😀. Something else I love is how you showcase comfortable shoes. I can no longer wear high heels; so, I appreciate the gorgeous sandals, low block heels, sneakers (not trainers) & loafers. Hi Angela, so lovely to hear your thoughts, so glad you found the video helpful:) I can’t imagine what it’s like living in the desert, does it get cold or night or can you go out without a coat most of the year? And oh yes, comfy shoes all the way for 99% of the year🙌🏻 Once in a while I get my party shoes but generally I love my smaller heels that don’t make my feet cry 🤣 Have a wonderful week ahead lovely 😘
@@FashionStyleEdit I love that "make my feet 😢 cry". 😂😂. In the winter, a desert can be extremely cold. In Las Vegas our summer starts in May & goes to the first week of November. We do not have typical seasons. It is either 🥵🔥 hot or 🥶❄️. Where I am from, Santa Monica, CA year around it is about 65-70°/16-21°. I miss my home & the weather. It is very Mediterranean. Have a wonderful week 💓.
The blue shirt/beige short inspo photo was essentially me on Thursday. 33 degrees in Alberta Canada? Where's my bridge to hide under?! Lol Lots of great inspo! So many pretty dresses too (I don't wear them at all, I'm a linen trousers type girl and more masculine than feminine.) But had I need of one I know who to turn to!

I feel cooler already! Love ALL the outfits. I am a sucker for halters- just love that line and I love wearing a lightweight button down as a jacket. I loved all your helpful tips for looking good in summer. Personally I always feel it's harder to look nice in summer as I never seem to go brown and pale colours never look as nice on me as they do on others. I loved the Breton top and jeans look but how does you tie your top without pulling it out of shape? Secondly do you ever do a Reiss haul? Have a good week. xx
Hi Sue, thanks so much for watching and I’m so happy to hear you found it helpful:) I tend to use a hair bobble a lot to tie my tops. It helps to keep the knot in place and looks a little neater. I’ve found once I wash the top the shape comes back no problem:) I do this in Winter too with my knitwear, only then I’d say use a softer bobble so it doesn’t make marks. Great ideas and suggestions. I’m about to start selecting things to pack for my holiday later this week and it will be primarily linen. I’ve bought a fair bit of linen over lockdown, especially during the sales, and chuffed to mintballs that I’m finally going to get the chance to wear it all......better late than never 😬. We are looking forward to our August vacation in my family too, and I’ve just started pulling possibilities from my closet. Linen and cotton items lead the way, for both comfort and coolness. I always look forward to your Sunday videos, I absolutely love your style! Great video as always but I live in Southern Italy (I am however American) and I find that I avoid sleeves and pants (even linen ones) because it is so so hot. Mid 30s has become the norm and we can reach 40 throughout the summer. I envy you guys wearing your long sleeve linen shirts. I just bought a striped one which I adore and am longing to wear, but I just can't bring myself to do it. So sleeveless tops and midi dresses and skirts all the way for me until mid September unfortunately! I have a quick question about how you knotted your t-shirts in the video. Does the top or t-shirt need to be very oversized to do it or will I be able to do it with a more form fitting one?
Hello Rebecca, so envious you’re living in southern Italy 🇮🇹 What a beautiful country:) I lived in Roma for a couple of months and never wanted to come home! I understand what you’re saying re the heat, this is always a tricky one to film as everyone’s climate is different. However I must add I filmed this while we had our little heatwave so I was definitely working with what I had 🥵 I do find when it’s super hot adding a linen shirt over my shoulders can feel like a bit of relief somehow? The extra layer is quite cooling on the skin and doesn’t seem to make me boil even more. In regards to the knots I find I can do this with almost all of my tops. If there’s less fabric I’ll use a bobble to knot it rather than tying the fabric on itself. That seems to make a neater knot too:) Have a wonderful rest of the weekend Rebecca and please do send more of that sunshine this way ☀️x

Hi Marianne, lovely to hear from you 😊 I’m wearing the uk10 in the Karen Millen dress:) Re my hair I did have to do it fairly slowly, the first highlights I as the hardest as I thought I looked a bit like a zebra 🤣 But by the third month of highlights I felt much more like a blonde again. I bought a couple of things from them a few months ago and thought they came up big so this time I went with a UK8 and I would say that’s perfect 👍 I’m very much a UK10 normally so I’d say size down. Only exception to that rule would be trousers where I’d probably stick with my normal size. Sorry, that’s really waffly isn’t it🤣 Hope that makes sense 😘

Hi lovely, thank you so much for watching and I’m so glad you enjoyed the video:) I am usually a UK10 and I ordered all 4 dresses in a UK8 and I live the fit, so I would suggest sizing down in their dresses. If I was selecting trousers however I would probably just go true to size with the 10. For reference I’m nearly 5ft8. Hope that helps but do let me know if you have any questions x

A few weeks ago I discovered that my extant sunscreen expired 12 years ago! So, after searching and reading reviews, I purchased Neutrogena’s Oil-Free SPF 70 “Age Shield Face” cream, it doesn’t feel greasy after it dries and it’s also oxybenzone-free. I’m very happy with it and the price is reasonable, so I use it on my arms, shoulders, etc., too. Also, on the tops of my feet, which can burn painfully in sandals. I’ve always used sunscreen on my face, neck and upper chest, but realized I’m getting sun damage, mostly freckles, on those other exposed body areas. My father gets squamous cell skin cancers all the time, so far successfully removed, so I want to take more care to prevent them in my skin. I haven’t been using it long enough to know if it stains. (No affiliation).

For the Leontine, I've bought quite a few of these over the last few years and I now buy them a size up in the medium. I prefer that style to be a little bigger, so it's more of a laidback casual style which i think works well. I'm not sure which one you mean on the sailor jumper? Let me know, always happy to help wherever I can x

Tu cuerpo es muy bonito y los parches del sol distorsionan el concepto general Y con relación al vestido de flores verde, es muy bello, pero ese color no te favorece, si utilizas un accesorio fucsia cerca del rostro, te da un brillo diferente. Amo ese color, pero mi tez blanca amarillosa, tampoco me luce. El amarillo te queda fantástico!!!!!

Here in Italy we have over 35° temperatures and we risk draught so jeans are well closed in the closet!
I prefer dresses to skirts because they are easy to wear: one thing and you’re done!
ps. I think that dry cleaning will help with yellow stains from suncream, surely not cheap but I don’t like yellow/orange marks on white clothes!

Thank you great ideas for summer. I love the white, soft colours and the midi. I found my pastels looked washed out in the Caribbean sun so I “had” to buy bright pinks and blues there, otherwise always a winner.

But are made from linen dress,high-quality cotton dress, viceo dress. Very over size. Pieces but are very beautiful and comfortable to wear in the heat. Sorry for miss spelling if one word. The skirts are from a Spanish called CorteFiel!! A big hug!!!
Almost my whole wardrobe is comprised these light colors: white, cream, light beiges and taupes, and the cooler pastel pinks, blues and greens. These are the colors the work best with my soft, light, cool coloring, and I love them. I also have some darker basics like navy and khaki green, but the light shades are by far my favorites.

Hi lovely, if there’s less fabric I use a hair bobble and just wrap the extra fabric back on itself. It helps keep them in place and looks a little neater x

Linen, linen oh how I love linen. Living in a desert, it is imperative to have natural lightweight fabrics. I absolutely love your linen white dress(I purchased a similar one), your chevon style dress, the yellow dress & really all of your outfits 😀. Something else I love is how you showcase comfortable shoes. I can no longer wear high heels; so, I appreciate the gorgeous sandals, low block heels, sneakers (not trainers) & loafers. We do not have typical seasons. It is either 🥵🔥 hot or 🥶❄️. Where I am from, Santa Monica, CA year around it is about 65-70°/16-21°. I miss my home & the weather. It is very Mediterranean. I feel cooler already! Love ALL the outfits. I am a sucker for halters- just love that line and I love wearing a lightweight button down as a jacket. Hi Sue, thanks so much for watching and I’m so happy to hear you found it helpful:) I tend to use a hair bobble a lot to tie my tops. It helps to keep the knot in place and looks a little neater. I’ve found once I wash the top the shape comes back no problem:) I do this in Winter too with my knitwear, only then I’d say use a softer bobble so it doesn’t make marks. Great ideas and suggestions. I’m about to start selecting things to pack for my holiday later this week and it will be primarily linen. I’ve bought a fair bit of linen over lockdown, especially during the sales, and chuffed to mintballs that I’m finally going to get the chance to wear it all......better late than never 😬. I always look forward to your Sunday videos, I absolutely love your style! Great video as always but I live in Southern Italy (I am however American) and I find that I avoid sleeves and pants (even linen ones) because it is so so hot. Mid 30s has become the norm and we can reach 40 throughout the summer. I envy you guys wearing your long sleeve linen shirts. I just bought a striped one which I adore and am longing to wear, but I just can't bring myself to do it. So sleeveless tops and midi dresses and skirts all the way for me until mid September unfortunately!
I have a quick question about how you knotted your t-shirts in the video. Does the top or t-shirt need to be very oversized to do it or will I be able to do it with a more form fitting one?
Hello Rebecca, so envious you’re living in southern Italy 🇮🇹 What a beautiful country:) I lived in Roma for a couple of months and never wanted to come home! I understand what you’re saying re the heat, this is always a tricky one to film as everyone’s climate is different. However I must add I filmed this while we had our little heatwave so I was definitely working with what I had 🥵 I do find when it’s super hot adding a linen shirt over my shoulders can feel like a bit of relief somehow? The extra layer is quite cooling on the skin and doesn’t seem to make me boil even more. In regards to the knots I find I can do this with almost all of my tops. If there’s less fabric I’ll use a bobble to knot it rather than tying the fabric on itself. Hi Marianne, lovely to hear from you 😊 I’m wearing the uk10 in the Karen Millen dress:) Re my hair I did have to do it fairly slowly, the first highlights I as the hardest as I thought I looked a bit like a zebra 🤣 But by the third month of highlights I felt much more like a blonde again. I wore sunshine yellow to an event at this time of year and ended up covered in tiny insects! Bee warned, especially if the event is in a rural area or parkland.

I bought a couple of things from them a few months ago and thought they came up big so this time I went with a UK8 and I would say that’s perfect 👍 I’m very much a UK10 normally so I’d say size down. Only exception to that rule would be trousers where I’d probably stick with my normal size. Sorry, that’s really waffly isn’t it🤣 Hope that makes sense 😘

Hi lovely, thank you so much for watching and I’m so glad you enjoyed the video:) I am usually a UK10 and I ordered all 4 dresses in a UK8 and I live the fit, so I would suggest sizing down in their dresses. If I was selecting trousers however I would probably just go true to size with the 10. For reference I’m nearly 5ft8. Hope that helps but do let me know if you have any questions x

A few weeks ago I discovered that my extant sunscreen expired 12 years ago! So, after searching and reading reviews, I purchased Neutrogena’s Oil-Free SPF 70 “Age Shield Face” cream, it doesn’t feel greasy after it dries and it’s also oxybenzone-free. I’m very happy with it and the price is reasonable, so I use it on my arms, shoulders, etc., too. Also, on the tops of my feet, which can burn painfully in sandals. I’ve always used sunscreen on my face, neck and upper chest, but realized I’m getting sun damage, mostly freckles, on those other exposed body areas. My father gets squamous cell skin cancers all the time, so far successfully removed, so I want to take more care to prevent them in my skin. I haven’t been using it long enough to know if it stains. (No affiliation).
Here it is, the beginning of August and the weather will be mid 60s and possibly rainy tomorrow. Too cold for any of these outfits.

For the Leontine, I've bought quite a few of these over the last few years and I now buy them a size up in the medium. I prefer that style to be a little bigger, so it's more of a laidback casual style which i think works well. I'm not sure which one you mean on the sailor jumper?
