- Just weeks after being devastated by Hurricane Dorian, people on the Bahamas are bracing for more severe weather. Tropical storm warnings are up on Grand Bahama and Abaco Islands. Errol Barnett reports from Nassau.

Oh dear Christ, please help those people! One storm was bad enough!
Just watching how many people are still stranded with no food and no utilities while they can still observe dead bodies all around them. Another storm may just clean the mess as it is not done by the survivors. They are helpless. These poor people need to leave now and never look back. Such vulnerability is not sustainable. Another tragic side of humanity, unable to get real help.
They arent helpless. They want someone else to come clean up the mess. They need to get together and clean their island, find supplies that can still be used like pots and pans and they can distill their own water.

Zuko Kurama I’ve visited the islands many times over. Always smart to avoid hurricane season for a reason. They have seen a CAT3 before with winds up to 165 mph. They saw 185 mph winds. Not much difference in damage. The difference is, the media put it all out on film and broadcast because it was hit the US States hard as well. Usually when a hurricane avoids the US, we never get media on it. Especially when that tsunami hit in Indonesia that killed over 200,000 people in 1 day. It wasn’t national news.
ACG Medical the hurricane stayed over the islands for a little over 36 hours by the way. 185 mph winds, 240 mph wind gusts, 20 ft+ storm surge. For almost 2 days.
Funny how the working poor class make too much money to qualify for any aid at all, but everyone wants to hold hands during a catastrophe.........complete bull
What’s the point in trying to rebuild when at any time another hurricane can come through and destroy what ever progress has been made? It would be a waste of time and money....they just need to evacuate that island and never look back

Building designs?? Did you not see what hurricane michael did to north Florida last year?? Cat 5 don't care for building designs unless u have the money to afford the top of the line building. And let's be honest, most of these people cant afford that. Even if they could, the storm surge was over 20 ft. So even if your house remained in tact it'll still be inundated with water.

@@retsrow2899 normal people cannot afford sturdy homes. Idk where we expect the poor in the Bahamas to get the money to afford sturdy homes. And yeah there are storm proof houses in Florida but there are also plenty of mobile homes, single family homes etc. Donot pretend like all the houses in Florida are made out of brick. And again, you're house could be made as durable as you like but unless its 30 ft off the ground, it'll be inundated by the 20 foot storm surge. My solution, if you can, build far from the coast but that's not really an option for most tiny islands. Evaluate to designated storm shelters if u can. All of SFL should get on their knees and thank GOD that Dorian didn't hit with its 180 mph winds. Had it done so, SFL would've been decimated.

Lunky Straydog Seriously?! The hurricane was a category 5 and was only moving 1 mile and hour with 180+ winds. It just sat on them for at least 3 days straight. That’s not normal and nothing and no one else could have been prepared for that. Also, tropical storms are different from a cat 5 hurricane so they don’t have them every year. Have some compassion and please educate yourself on the topic.

My suggestion would be to abandon the Bahamas. Due to the increasing frequency and severity of storms the Caribbean due to climate change is effectively uninhabitable.
