I love how he finally took the courage to confess with a kiss,🥺🥰 But I'm still disappointed that he didn't get a answer/response in even last episode.😔 Neither of the couple got to get together 😢
This scene convinced me for the 3rd time in the Series that the story between the teachers XI and ZI is almost the same between WANG and TIAN; specially the one about XI dropping his academic standards when he was in high school because he fell in love ... and in EP 12 we see WANG sabotaging his own exams and that way being able to move out of the same class together with TIAN. With WANG seeing how XI reacts to ZI's kiss in this moment, his own fears about how TIAN would react to his love confession seal the ending of the Season 1 of this Series. It is not just because TIAN is now legally speaking his Gē (older brother), but also his best friend. So ... this kiss scene between the teachers and its outcome influences directly in a negative way WANG's choice making to distance himself from TIAN, by using a self destructive strategy; lowering his academic results and that way being transferred to a different class group. Unfortunately TIAN was able to realized what WANG did... and the only thing he could do was to confront him about it, and to start thinking of a way to make WANG come back to him in the following part of this story in Season 2. This is an excellent Series for sure....! 🤩 👏 👏 👏 The director Kuang Hui LIU (Your Name Engraved Herein) has done an amazing job with this free adaptation of the novel, not only writing the script for it himself, but also leaving his personal artistic footprint in this story, by taking the necessary time to present the story, the characters development, their emotional closeness, and the key conflict. The ending of EP 11, in the extra "very moment"... where we finally see how TIAN was accidentally burned by a cigarette when he was a kid, finding his father having sex with another man, gives us the last puzzle piece about TIAN's extremely body contact shyness personality. That was not only a trauma moment for TIAN as a kid, but also a moment of realization. I am more than please with this first Season, specially because the director really managed to show that main conflict and development of feelings in the story in a very deep way, taking the time for it without rushing the story: from having a rejecting first impression, to slowing becoming close and friends, to going thru a setback as TIAN wanted to move into the school campus that resulted in a deal and a promise between them, to showing how both of them start realizing to have fallen in love, and the consequences of rejecting to open up to it. IF we think of it well, everything happens in just a few months in the story...!! The emotional development happens actually so fast, that the boys barely have the time to adjust and consolidate their present status. Just when TIAN starts to believe that they have become really best and inseparable friends, WANG stages such a one sided and dramatic "break up" situation out of the blue. And that may not be the end of this "break up" process yet. What if WANG also wants to move out of Campus, and go back home alone as well, leaving TIAN on his own behind (?). I am sure that we ALL will be eagerly waiting for the Season 2 to show us how this romance goes on. WANG was the lead character in this Season 1, so I really want to see TIAN taking over in Season 2, doing anything, and everything, to make WANG go back to him, and remain together forever. Until then... Cheers...!
