1:09 You brought up that churches will usually try to appeal to carnality when trying to entertain. I would love to hear you elaborate more on that, and maybe what you think churches should or shouldn't do when they are trying to entertain, perhaps this could be another video topic 🤔.

I once was in a church service on ANZAC day and the person giving the communion message told us that as we take communion to remember the ANZACs. He was well intentioned but incredibly blasphemous. Bottom line is Pastors should know what people are going to say before just handing anyone the microphone.

I am disabled and so have been unable to attend church for a number of years. I read my Bible daily, pray, do Bible studies, read books written by godly men, listen to hymns and worship music, watch my favorite biblical pastors preach on tv and listen to godly messages from believers like yourself. I miss getting together with fellow believers and worshipping in a holy congregation but from what I've read and heard recently on the subject you raised and others spoken of in the comments, I am happy to worship my Lord and Savior in this way. It seems we all, including the church, are rushing headlong into the End Times. Jesus warned us of the false preachers and apostasy that would reign in men's hearts at the end. No other way to look at it. Thank you for your godly ministry. I pray you are well. 🙏🙏🙏✝️✝️✝️

    • @CynVee
      @CynVee 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

@andrewgraham7659 I agree. I wasn't always so diligent. When I was first unable to attend, I kept thinking, "I'll get back, I'll get back," so other than praying, I didn't do a whole lot. When I began to realize I wasn't going to be able to attend. I got very sad and withdrawn. My walk suffered greatly. Then I had so many challenging events occur I noticed I was no longer trusting His word, His promises. I couldn't feel His presence. I started listening to Charles Stanley, and I bought a few of his books. He made me realize that I had allowed myself to drift away from my Lord, and that was why I couldn't feel His presence or the Holy Spirit's voice. God hadn't deserted me, I had deserted him. That's when I got back reading the Bible, I found a local Christian tv station that broadcasts Charles Stanley, David Jeremiah, Adrian Rogers (my favorite), Michael Youseef, and others. I record them and watch their services throughout the week. Their websites offer free Bible studies too. I'm not saying all this to brag but just in case someone is where I was earlier. I want to encourage ppl to get back in the word. Without that, we can't hope to know what God wants of us or how to glorify him regardless of our abilities. I was once very active in my church. My husband would groan every time the pastor would ask for volunteers bc he knew my hand would go up. Little by little, I had to relinquish my roles in each ministry. It was not easy, and I mourned each loss, but God is good and had something else planned for me. I have grown so much closer to the Lord. My disability has turned into a blessing. We know that the Lord does that all the time. My mom used to say, "When God closes a door, He opens a window." Sorry to go on and on, but I think someone out there, I don't know who or when, needs to see this and be encouraged. Bless you 🙏🙏🙏✝️✝️✝️

There is no limit to the blasphemy. It goes to extremes in this age.
Look at what happened in England just last week. The " church " of England has officially announced that their facilities will no longer be called CHURCHES. Because it's offensive and oppressive to people of other faiths. They are asking their priests to de-emphasize Sunday services and offer nature walks and world event talks instead of preaching. They wish now to be known as state sponsored " Community Centers ".

Going back decades ago, I was mentioning to people at a conservative church about a different church where people dressed up as clowns and preached the gospel. If memory serves me correctly, it wasn’t just for kids. I found the idea of dressing up as a clown and preaching the gospel to be blasphemous. I noticed an older couple sitting at the table looked offended. Finally, the woman said, through an angry face, “he and I are BOTH registered clowns!” And apparently, they had preached the gospel as clowns. They went on to pretty much rebuke me as if I was the clown in the situation. I was stunned. I remember a few people at the table struggling to contain their laughter in the face of someone angrily proclaiming to not just be a clown, but a REGISTERED clown.

I've experienced a few disappointments with the church and these are just a couple: I attended an Easter service where the arrival of Jesus on a donkey to celebrate passover and then, the time before his crucifixion when the crowds were witnessing Pontius Pilote sentencing him to death was being recounted. Instead of asking the congregation to interact by waving our palm crosses as they did when Jesus was entering Jerusalem, they asked us to wave our fists in the air and shout, "crucify him" when he was being sentenced. I was visibly shocked as were a few others, as most of the congregation did as they were asked... & I felt the darkness present in church that day. More recently, I was visiting a well known Cathedral City in Wiltshire with my Husband... It was on a Sunday and we wanted to see the Cathedral. However, when we got to the religious site, there was a swing band playing a Blues Brothers track and several people were jiving in front of the main entrance... We were just as disgusted as some of the tourists there, with one commenting that they thought it was meant to be a place where people pray? 🤨

I went to a first communion service and when the children were lined up to enter the church about half the parents were standing on the pews taking photographs and videos and talking loudly. I couldn’t believe the level of disregard for reverence BY THE PARENTS in front of their children. I’m happy they were happy about the event, but it sent a wrong message about the solemnity of the religious event. It’s not like this was a football game or high school graduation, but it was treated like it was. The kids didn’t care one iota for Holy Communion. It was just something they were doing because that was just what everyone else was doing. When we treat something holy like it is mundane we profane it. I wasn’t so much outraged at the parents but sad that so many of them didn’t seem to have a clue about why just being happy about that day wasn’t enough to sanctify the event. They turned it into a party with revelry and treated the graciousness of God like it’s an ordinary snack. I want to morn and cry when I see this.

We once attended a fund-raiser for a Christian organization. A dinner and theater. The show they chose to re-enact was a fairy tale that entailed the students casting spells. I remember sitting there in stunned disbelief The worst part was everyone around us was laughing and enjoying it, I guess because it was a well-known fairy tail that most people think of as harmless. Many of the people there were Christian, but it was also an outreach to the community. And this was the best they could do to represent Christ??
The scripture came to me; "it would have been better to have a millstone tied around your neck......offend these little ones". What's worse is that the kids performing this show would have had to practice the spells multiple times. God help us. What have we allowed in our "churches" today in the name of entertainment??!!

no need to choose a song that tries to sound Christian, but isn't.
Deception in churches are very strong. Satan will do anything to offer a counterfeit; even if it means changing the once sacred songs to trash.

“The church” , if you can even call it that anymore, is in such a state . I’ve seen something similar with circus performers hanging form the ceiling and The Grinch entertaining in a SERVICE at Christmas at Houston’s First Baptist, a repugnant place that Christ would spit out of His Mouth. With the constant money grubbing and more more more building, too many pastors, vocational worship leaders and pastors, whose four kids WE are supposed to put through college and whose wife needs her nails and hair done and a big new car, even when we can’t do these things for our own families, I am sick to death of the American church, the western church, whatever you wanna call it . what happened to the notion that Paul gave people - do as I do, if you can- and our Lord and savior who had nowhere to lay his head?
After 35 years in the church, as a believer, I can honestly say that there is absolutely nowhere for me to go, ( and I’ve visited over a hundred churches in my current horrible area) and I feel NO guilt. As a matter of fact, I feel a giant weight has been lifted off of my chest.
For anyone who’s interested in commenting on not forsaking the believers, I have plenty of Christian friends that I get to together with and discuss the Bible and the Lord’s doctrines. Matter fact, I’m doing that tomorrow night. please show me in the Bible where it describes anything that looks like the church today. You can't find it.
People, if you are leaving your church after service in absolute anguish and sick and grieving in your heart and soul-- that’s the Holy Spirit. Get out of there as fast as you can and don’t look back. Don’t feel guilty. It is not your fault and you are certainly not alone.

Can we not respect all peoples and their beliefs? Church and State need to be separate. Throughout history, theocracy has led to nothing but death and destruction. God Bless us all. I live in a small town, so we don’t have big churches. I joined a church, then later on was asked to hold “kids church” after the worship service. I loved it. Then Christmas rolled around, the pastor’s wife was planning to deck out the church in Christmas trees all over the place. It seemed so over done. When she wanted to talk to me about the Christmas program with the kids, I expected them to sing a praise song but she and the worship leader decided the kids would sing Leonard Cohen’s song Alleluia. I already knew the lyrics , disgusted by them when I first read them after the song became popular.
I asked them if they knew the lyrics. Their eyebrows shot up and they looked insulted, of course we do, the pastor’s wife replied.
I gave her the keys I had, told her thank you but I am not going to teach the kids to sing that song. I walked out and never looked back.
I felt like crud but the Lord is so good. The next day I saw online an interesting article about a Russian village, deep in the mountains. Many of the people had shrines of icons in their homes but the part that blew my mind was the photos of their worship center, located in the forest, surrounded by very tail trees but in the area which would be the central worship, there was a cluster of fir trees. These people worshipped these trees bc they don’t go dormant like the forest trees. This is why fir trees do not belong in the home or church. I asked The Father why do we have Christmas trees. He told me that in the winter it was too cold to go into the forest to worship the trees, so they cut them down and brought them inside so that they could worship. Read Jeremiah 10. Did you know Christmas trees were introduced by the German immigrants and were banned until the 1800’s? There is much pagan worship in Europe, look at the Olympic ceremonies held in EU countries, the symbolism is astounding. You may want to look into the grand opening ceremony when CERN was completed. Sorry this is so long. If you made it this far, God bless you and please don’t hate me for pointing out the godless nature of Christmas trees. Don’t be fooled by others who say they represent the tree of the cross.

We've known about the Scripture that talks about bringing trees into the house, and while I agree with you (Jeremiah 10), that's not what that Scripture meant, however to us we took it to mean it that way anyway.
It was very hard on our children, seeing friends from the neighborhood and school having trees in the house, but not us.
As they got older, they understood.
We spoke against Santa Claus and instead told them that Jesus provided the money for us to get them presents.
      After awhile, they didn't mind.

In Cohen's defense, he is a Jew. He said he wrote the song because he liked the idea of thousands of people singing the word "Hallelujah."
For those who may not know, "Hallelujah" is a word known in most languages. It means, "Praise God." BUT not just any god. It has the name of the true God imbedded in the word. It means "Praise YHVH."

They didn’t think beyond the intent to entertain, both children and adults, thinking it to be cute and funny. Being joyful in church needs to be focused on the Lord. Children can find enjoyment in knowing God loves them. They need to know that hallelujah is praise to God, and that “hallelooney” is praise to “looney”… which is quite meaningless, and an inappropriate context in which to make fun out of words. It was not a church service, but at a regional retreat, my church and several others in our fellowship held one fall for high school students. This was in 1973. About 80 students from around our state attended. It was sponsored by one of the "Christian" Universities we supported. We bunked five HS students to a room with one college student as a "mentor." Our "mentor," a senior, had a terrible understanding of scripture and barely any grasp of sound doctrine or theology. Now, I admit I was a bit precocious and had studied the Word quite a bit by my 18th birthday, but I was unprepared for the utter lack of preparedness shown by this fellow who was supposedly studying for the ministry!
However, I was taken aback when he listed Alvin Toffler (author of Future Shock and others) along with Daniel and other prophets! I read Toffler's book when I was a sophomore (like I said, precocious!), and he never claimed to be a prophet. I pointed this out to our "mentor" and asked if he knew what the test of a prophet was.
"Oh, that's just Old Testament mythology. No one believes that anymore."
I don't know if he ever was ordained, but if he was, I pray his eyes were opened before he did too much damage!
Our local church left the fellowship and became independent by 1974.
I believe we are witnessing the Falling Away as the number of churches and denominations that have turned away from the Gospel seems to be growing.

I'm glad you're calling it out. My church had a lady do a bible reading which she did from her NWT bible translation and no one including the pastor picked up on it. Even when pointed out it wasn't a problem.
Last week a lady shared in church that she was 'deconstructing' her faith. To throw away all the problematic parts of the bible and rebuild a new version of her truth. There were lots of tears and hugs.
We had a service that was an interview between the pastor and a church elder who told us that no one understands most of the bible and it doesn't make sense anyway so he feels close to God by listening to music. Secular music is just as good for that as christian music.

When I was a little kid (5 or 6) my mom would make me attend Sunday School at a Methodist church. The Sunday school teacher would stand at the top of the stairs and point at us with a huge diamond shaped ring, telling us that she was turning us into squirrels. We would be able to see each other as kids but everyone else would see squirrels. That if we didn’t behave when we were outside playing, that she wouldn’t turn us back and we would be squirrels forever. We were all terrified of her.

I was raised in a blasphemous version of Christianity and attended its blasphemous services every Sunday until God led me to the true Gospel. The blasphemous 'church' and its religious practices is the Roman Catholic system where Christ the true Messiah is mocked in a subtle way which is not picked up or understood by those who don't understand this religious system and consider it to be Christian. Every Roman mass blasphemes the true Christ with its own version of Him as an inadequate messiah whose sacrifice on the cross was incomplete and only partly effective for salvation, redemption and justification and who can't save anyone without the intercession and participation His mother Mary.

In all fairness, lots of people use the word "Hallelujah" ironically, as an expression, even placing an expletive in the middle of it without stopping to think about the etymology and actual meaning of the word. Most such utterances would be sins of ignorance, and I've probably done it myself in the past. This does not excuse it, however. When the young man in Second Samuel unthinkingly placed his hand on the Ark of the Covenant to prevent it from falling, God certainly struck him dead. Thanked everyone for funding the new organ they just installed, patted themselves on the back for donating the old one to the poor church. Continued to tell the entire congregation that they are not contributing enough to the church. And from now on all children should contribute $5 a week, and adults should give $20. This was in the 70's! That was my whole allowance that I had to work for! And not Once did I hear the name Jesus, or give thanks to God. I got up and walked out, even the priest stopped talking for a moment, everyone looking, I held my head high, and left the hypocrisy for good. Yes, I believe Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior! We ask God to forgive us then say the Glory to God prayer then the readings first from the Old Testament then Psalms then reading from Acts then the Gospel. Priest or Deacon has sermon usually based on the readings which have a common thread. Some general things might be mentioned after that but never before and then the rest of the Mass with general prayers , offertory and consecration and communion then final prayers and any closing remarks if needed. That’s how it goes in every RC church .

OFF TOPIC, a bit, but your story reminded me of my brother who died 3 years ago.
He had been a Paramedic and an RN. He lived next door to a Baptist church. The church was a small congregation with a tight budget. The organ they had was quite antique, but it needed tuning that the church could not afford. The large Methodist church in town had a brand-new organ, but they wanted the beautiful antique, which they could afford to repair. They offered the Baptists an even organ - for -organ trade, which the Baptists gratefully accepted.
Unfortunately, both pastors were quite elderly. They asked my brother to assist with the swap, to help with putting the organs on and off the truck.
My brother agreed, but he warned them that he was on call, and if his pager went off, he would have to leave them.

When I learned that my former church was using songs from Hillsong, Bethel, Elevation, and some other heretical artist, and I learned the issue with those churches, I left. It was a church/school and Pentecostal and I had voiced my concerns in an email to one of the pastors who brushed them off essentially. I am now at a Baptist church, much smaller and doctrinally accurate. They are preaching the message that had gotten me saved about two years ago after listening to one of Ray Comfort’s videos. My parents still attend that church, and my mom isn’t interested in hearing the issues I had. My sister and brother have been attending a similar church that, based on what I have seen, seems more interested in preaching what God can do for you in this life, how to live your best life now, etc. as opposed to a message of repentance and salvation. My dad and I attended Power Morphicon, the official Power Rangers Convention, last week in Pasadena CA, and before it started, we took a tour of the Living Waters ministry nearby and got to meet Ray Comfort. My dad is now curious about the church I am attending and wants to come one day. My brother and sister experienced some worldly things at their church and may not be there much longer. I have been praying and I think God may be doing a work in their lives to get them out of those churches. Please say some prayers for them that they see the truth about their churches and about the people they listen to such as Steven Furtick, Joyce Meyer, Joel Osteen, T.D. Jakes, Lovy Elias, and more.

Please allow me to share my experience... I had just moved to a new area and was looking for a church to attend, just up the road from my new home was a CofE Church, so I headed there for the Sunday service, all was well.
Then they made mention in the end of service announcements that they were holding an all day fund raising event in the church the following Saturday and all were invited to come along, have fun and raise some vital funds.
So naturally I decided to attend this fund raising event, as soon as I set foot in the building I had an immediate sense of foreboding and unease , the reason why soon became very apparent, they had not one, but two, tarot card readers in the church building!!
I left straight away and let my feelings be known to the vicar.

I went to a church where the pastor took his Bible, threw it on the ground, and stepped on it.
His point was against "Bibliolatry". The problem is, there is no such thing. Believing the Word of God can never be "Idolatry". It's God's Words, not an idol's words. In fact, John 1 says the Word is Christ Himself.
If anyone preaches against "Bibliolatry", you know you aren't speaking to a Christian. That person has elevated themselves to the level of the very Word of God. They elevate themselves to the level of Christ.
Do we worship the Bible itself? Of course not! But we do believe every word it says. And we do trust it far more than any man.

I once visited a church where the main Sunday service was taken by the youth leader. Instead of preaching, he organised a competition to see who could jump in and out of a huge pair of underpants the most times in 60 seconds. I was seemingly the only person in a congregation of 150+ that had a problem with this.

Years ago I visited an American church on July 4 weekend. The service began: beautiful, worship, hands lifted, eyes to the heavens. But after a while, on the overhead screens were pictures of the American flag. Hands still lifted, eyes to the heavens. And the songs turned to “America, the Beautiful,” and “My Country, Tis of Thee.” Hands lifted….
I kept thinking “they’re confused! What’s happening?” Then the picture changed to the Statue of Liberty. And I looked around the sanctuary at all. The people with their hands lifted, singing adoration to a statue of a woman. I stormed out, and my husband followed. I told him if I had stayed a moment longer I would’ve stood up and yelled! They saw nothing wrong with it. To them, patriotic “worship” was all part of their religion.

Well there is nothing wrong with this kind of particular circumstance because for one thing is those songs do still speak to our creator about something. I don't know what you learned surrounding our history but the truth is America was originally founded on Christian principles and that is one thing that genuine freedom for humanity is. The only problem is that it and all patriotic matters have all been hijacked and subverted by activists of the secular world.

Did you know that the Statue of Liberty was really created to honor ISIS the Goddess of Fertility?
It had zero to do with the French Revolution modeled after the American Revolution.
It was gifted to the U.S. because the French Gov't refused to purchase it and wanted it gone from their country.
Revelation in Scripture refers to the "Whore of Babylon" -- guess who that is.
What you witnessed at that service was the church praising the statue of ISIS and the Whore of Babylon enticing the worshipers to lift their hands to her.

My husband and I went with our friends at their church to a Christmas program (a huge church) and we’d gone before the last one they had Mary and baby Jesus but had a modern young girl who had a baby out of wedlock and I felt they were comparing her to Mary. It was awful. When we left I told my husband we’d never go back there. He agreed with me. And this has been many years ago. A lot of churches are so horrific. Attended an allegedly Christian church for a time. One Sunday evening service pastor said "Our problem in not understanding our power is failing to separate Jesus from God." It was a small church, so I raised my hand and said, "Isnt Jesus God?" Pastor said, "No, Jesus set aside all his godly nature when he was on the earth." "But pastor Don, Jesus performed miracles, he proved he was God." "But he said that we will do greater things than these." "Even so, pastor, that's only through the power he gives us. And he died for our sins." Pastor Don then said "How can God die?"
Folks, THAT'S blasphemy! That was the last time I ever attended that vicious little cult.
