Unpopular opinion, but I really enjoyed this heist. The tidbit of information talking about the "infamous murder rate," the foreboding brown and orange colored aesthetic of the visuals, and the grimy sound of this track brings back the grit and morbid/darker tone from Payday: The Heist.
I think everything except for the execution was solid. The heist is too short, too small, and too confusing for a first run since items won't be marked until the game realizes you didn't check the janitor cart for flammable liquid.
i think what makes this track so awesome is that it sounds less like the soundtrack to the police assault on you, and more like the theme of your own demented criminal self fighting back
Love or hate this heist, you can't deny that both the aesthetics and music were A tier. In general, I've loved the look of Silk Road (Border Crossing nonwithstanding) and was kind of disappointed that City of Gold is just set in San Fran because because the more significant change of scenery was just wonderful.
It’s mildly infuriating that the description says that the anticipation starts at 5:27 when it actually starts at 5:28 Still doesn’t change the fact that this is the single best song in the whole OST though.
Robocraft player here! Never expected anyone to mention it here :P To be specific, now that I took a listen, it seems like a mix of Robocraft and TerraTech...
Too bad that Infectious Frostbite has seemingly stopped uploading extended Payday music, because I could really use an extended version of the control theme. Edit: Seems like they have returned! And here is the long-awaited control extension: th-cam.com/video/9yIycEGI8lY/w-d-xo.html!
nice but can you make extend version of the assault with the anticipation and assault intro that make it better istead just listen the assault is kinda remove the hype when the assault came

I agree! I love the heist and san martin as well. I don't care about objectives and stuff, as long as its fun, and it is
Wait wrong heist, I'm stupid. didn't get this dlc... but when I played it with friends it was fun.
Loud is fun, stealth is a bit tedious, and considering the objectives are the same anyways, I'd rather go the fun way.
this song's assault sounds creepy, crazy and jailbreak-ish, fits like a glove (at least the glove parts do)
*gunshots intensify as I unload multiple magazines into Kleiner*
Damn, nice HL2 reference
_Alex: LIKE A GLOVE!_
I see what you did there
Epic
I love how these new tracks have really sombre and sad stealth loops. Really feels like there's something personal going on in these missions.
Yeah they make it feel more personal rather than just a simple run for money
The Spanish Mexican Dubstep Music Is still going strong i see
Guitars are better.
@@Dat_Jonx this track already has guitars......
Guitar tones sounds straight outta last of us. WHICH IS AMAZING. I really wanna see mexico after this dlc.
Mexican dubstep is a fucking banger
6:25 Death Row PTSD from that guitar
It sounds so good tho.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Death row good
You say PTSD like Death Row wasnt the best thing you have ever experienced
"If Death Row was so good, why isn't there Death Row 2?"
Well, we don't have that, but this is pretty damn close.
there's left in the cold
then again we had "Steel Wrapped Gift" which acted as a "Death Row Pt. II"
*Flesh?*
7:42 Damn, wasn't expecting this but holy shit
unironically some parts of the stealth part reminded me of payday the heist times, but i think its just me
Nah nah you right I feel it too, it's the guitar
@@PowerGlove84 The drumming in the assault portion sounded rather "industrial" to me (or something, it sounds heavy and breakbeat-y)
Stealth got way more difficult in new heists. I've failed border crossing like 10 times, and still didn't finished it yet.
the stealth reminds me of red dead 2
I never played Payday The Heist and hearing it was grittier than PD2 makes me feel like it fits.
The stealth fits quite well with Shacklethorne Auction
gives me vibes of the tracks made in late 2015-2016. dunno why.
anyways this is a banger

Good lord, I love the tones of finality scattered through the stealth phase that slowly fade into the tense tones of a fire fight from there on out.
I gotta say, these _Silk Road_ soundtracks do not disappoint! Kudos to Coutinho! :)
someone could put this in unreal tournament and i'd probably not even notice it's a payday track, it's so damn good
Mexican Razormind
I want the Stealth part to be a separate musical composition, sounds so fucking fantastic!
i think what makes this track so awesome is that it sounds less like the soundtrack to the police assault on you, and more like the theme of your own demented criminal self fighting back
This could potentially be the only heist in the game where DSOD loud is easier than stealth. Seriously if you're reading this go try both

In general, I've loved the look of Silk Road (Border Crossing nonwithstanding) and was kind of disappointed that City of Gold is just set in San Fran because because the more significant change of scenery was just wonderful.
I get it though, a big thing with having a non-american setting like in Silk Road they would have to record all new lines again for police dialogue
Eh, in city of gold it didn't felt like I was playing a 2007 source engine game. The overall aesthetic of the silk road maps looked terrible imo.

I swear the anticipation is the best part
Everything starting from Control part got me air-guitaring for a moment
It’s heavy as f*ck, and it’s brutal and it’s crazy, love it
Already did the heist on DSOD loud was easy giving the cops get stuck in doorways and pile up so ECM feedback took care of that
I surprised that it was made by Gustavo. It's actually has Carl vibe to it, like Left In The Cold.
Серьезно чайник?
да, есть такое. Еще как подмечали, похоже дропом на некоторые ранние треки саймона.
all i can think of when i hear “sucker punch” is Infamous 2 intro
Huh.
So Sokol, clover, sydney and sangres were breaking vlad's wife's brother out as Duke, hoxton, wolf, dallas and chains were breaking bain out.
Stealth part, Bank Heist, Car Shop, Ukrainian job
Loud part, literally everything cuz the assault portion is kickin' it
in any heist i change the song
but in breakfast in tijuana i always choose this song because it just fits so good for some reason

It’s mildly infuriating that the description says that the anticipation starts at 5:27 when it actually starts at 5:28

Lol thx I'll changed it
I like how the drums sound on the 1:36, it's like footsteps of a passing by prison guard or smth
The rush at 7:56 is unreal
If the silk road dlcs are done, dallas and others are gonna be up north in canada
The song is amazing imo but it's a shame the heist felt way too short in comparison to the other Silk Road heists
Agreed. It feels like a day 1 for a hiest that they never did a day 2 for.
Other than that it was allot of fun
6:54 That section of the soundtrack sounds like a part of original Double cross
Weapon pack is only for M60 LMG
