We did well. My youngest son got a doe during the youth season and a 5 point during the regular season. I take a neighbor kid out and he got his first buck. A half rack. Would have been an 8. I ended a 5 year dry spell with my biggest 8 on the first day of muzzle loader season. Its been a great year! I love teaching the kids to love the hunt and not just the kill.

I've been living out-of-state the past 3 years and haven't been able to get back home for a hunt. While your videos have made me a little homesick, it also brought memories of the many hunts I did in the Watersmeet area in the western U.P. Nothing like it. Thanks guys.

Watersmeet is the home of the “Nimrods”, probably the greatest name for a sports team!
Nice to see kids in your camp. We are loosing the youth to video games, smart phones, and the Mall. The youngest in our camp is 44yrs old. Average age is 60. Most people don't understand the experience of Deer Camp. Harvesting the animal is just icing on the cake. Funny I was born in the U.P. But never hunted there. Our Deer Camp is in Pa.

Nice Camp! Thanks for sharing. Love the sound of the gun going off and hearing the rifle bolt work and the noise of the bullet Casing ejecting and hit hitting the floor. I just purchased 10 acres back, of a farm my grandparents owned in the Eastern UP. Hope to get a chance to hunt it next season.

I've shot my fair share of spikes in my life. Better than an old swamp buck in my opinion. Does too, but only when the population is up. You know what God thinks of the proud, right? Proverbs 29:23 A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit. May God bless you humble, God-fearing hunters! Great video! Thanks! Trophy hunters will never, never be able to force humble hunters to assimilate to their standards. It's too bad though that they are able to persuade the DNR to create rules that suit their selfish, backward agenda. So sad. I'm from WI but I've hunted central Menominee County since 1989. I got a spike opening morning that year and I thanked God the same as if it were a 12 pointer. I'm going up to MI tomorrow to get my blinds in order and do some filming. Have great season. Looking forward to seeing what you guys get.

I find it irritating when you get these guys who say that you aren't a real hunter if you use a bait pile or stationary hunt. To them, stalking is the only way. But that is so unrealistic. How large of a piece of property is available to most people? If you have only 20 or 30 acres, all you will do is walk in circles. Only thing I don't care for is when people shoot little deer. If that's what you want to do that is fine, but don't expect me to cheer for it.
Keep the vids coming! Only recommendation would be to not use the camera effect that adds a black halo to the video.
