Hi Peter, thanks very much. I have pasted you a link to the movie version of this tune. www.bing.com/videos/search?q=kill+bill+the+lonely+shepherd&&view=detail&mid=2B33D01515B9C4C6E9112B33D01515B9C4C6E911&&FORM=VRDGAR Have a great weekend yourself, Neville
A very beautifully played rendition of this lovely oldie Neville. I like that lovely sound you are getting from the Burns for this tune. A huge like. Bravo. Regards, Ernie.
Thanks very much, Ernie , this one was a few years ago, I recorded it using the vintage sounds vst package all on the computer, no amps. (It's a free package) Best wishes, Neville
Hallo Neville, very nice playing and sound my friend ! Always enjoyed this song and really dig your cover of it. Exellent video and backing too. I wish you a very fine holiday and all the best ... Fons.
Hello Neviile, this is a superb recording. Your sound is excellent and the supporting backing track is of equal quality. I wish you relaxing holidays. Best wishes, Joachim
Hi Neville what a superb version & I really liked the addition of the harmony with the second guitar hope you have an excellent time away all the best & big thumb's up my friend Ric
Thanks very much Ric, I enjoy the music of a band called Wishbone Ash who had some very melodic twin guitar parts back in the 1970's. I was trying to achieve a similar effect. Take care, Neville
Thanks very much Mike, I thought you might perhaps have seen the movie "Kill Bill" with Uma Thurman ! www.bing.com/videos/search?q=kill+bill+the+lonely+shepherd&&view=detail&mid=2B33D01515B9C4C6E9112B33D01515B9C4C6E911&&FORM=VRDGAR All the best Neville
This one gave me goosebumps melody just touches your heart what can I say it sounded just amazing Neville and video effects added a lot to it...Have a lovely weekend and keep sharing classic melodies....{:-)
Hi Neville, slowly going through your TH-cam listings, ( this might take a while) some great video work on some of your instrumentals, well done. Just given up on the green screen idea, spent to much time and to much money, will stick to the music side of things. Ian 🎸
Hi Ian. Thanks very much, really appreciate the support. The green screen is a bit of a pain and particularly in the fairly small room I use. Saying that I started with zero knowledge of video software and have enjoyed having a go and learning on the job. I can't justify an expensive camera and most of it is shot with old iphone. Best wishes, Neville
Hi Neville, just for the record, as I said in an earlier post, your green screen videos are very good, could I possibly pick your brain on how you produce them ? ? as I am absolutely ripping my hair out. I have been producing video’s now since 1989, did it for a living, had my own studio, worked on countless filming jobs with high tech equipment and retired maybe 10 years ago now. ‘Gave away’ all of my equipment to a collage of further education to help with students interested in the camera / video world. So, after taking up playing the guitar again after many years of being without one, I thought it would be good to try ‘green screening’, Where did I go wrong ? I bought three different size green screens and started using the 15ft x 10ft one clipped tight with pro clamps on to a bought frame. ( making sure no creases or folds were visible ) I have just bought eight 4ft daylight tubes and mounted four on a board either side of green screen roughly 3 to 4ft away from the screen at roughly 45% angle to the screen to light ‘just’ the screen. Standing 4ft ish in front of screen ( not to cast any shadows) I have a set up of three studio lights shooting up into white umbrellas, one just behind for a beck fill, one of equal power in front and one slightly smaller one to the side for a fill. ( I have also tried adding yet another light in front just to eliminate the problem of lack of light. ) the whole set up has been done in a conservatory and only filmed at night, I have used a Panasonic NV -GS 4000 and edited with PowerDirector 11 I do not have a problem until I come to using my chroma key and then I find I can not get rid of the green line around the edge of everything, ie guitar/ my head & body etc. The effect looks awful, I have tried all different settings on the programme ( tolerance / hue / etc but cannot get rid of the green edge. Today I have tried editing the same clip with PowerDirector 10 Ultra....... no difference. Can you help in anyway, if so I would be eternally grateful. ( any help would be appreciated ). Ian 🎸
Ian, you obviously know your stuff and appear to have done everything by the book. I do a lot of things wrong! I use an 8x6 room (with furniture) so can only dream of standing 4’ away from the screen The screen spans wall to wall using an expandable extending curtain pole which can easily be stored when not needed. I have a couple of basic soft box lights on stands with 135w bulbs I also replaced the ceiling bulb with a foldable white led light from ebay www.ebay.co.uk/itm/E27-LED-Bulb-Foldable-Garage-Work-Shop-Lights-Fan-Blade-Ceiling-Lamps-Livingroom-/402466335820?hash=item5db4dcec4c I use Power Director version 16. Version 16 allows you to adjust edge sharpness as well as hue, luminance and saturation after applying the key. I am not sure if this is the same as the older version you are using. It might be worth downloading the very latest essentials version for free www.cyberlink.com/downloads/trials/powerdirector-video-editing-software/download_en_GB.html You get a full trial initially then it reverts to essentials which has less features and puts a small watermark on renders. I trialled this but found version 16 was enough for me. The latest version does however allow you to put more than one green key to remove any residual areas. Couple of thoughts Possibly too much light causing the spill around the edges. I would also recommend the following YT channel for tutorials th-cam.com/channels/j1NjLNgrF6yn_GINPcfrwQ.html Neville
Hi Neville! Must admit I get a strange itch in my ears when I see the name James Last, so I suspected I would hear some really over orchestrated stuff when I started to listen. Instead I heard this beautiful backing track and your excellently balanced and well played guitars - the harmonies in the end are superb. Wonderful post - and a huge like from me! Take care - and have a great holiday! John
Hi John, I know what you mean about James Last, not very rock n roll! Roger Alcock's super backing track sold this tune for me. I initially tried a "Gary Moore" type arrangement with plenty of full tone bends but settled on adding a second "Wishbone Ash" guitar part instead! Enjoyed the holiday, Thanks as always, Neville
You are not lonely! Neville.....Those guitars always with you, waiting for your nice tune too! Enjoy it! Sandy
Hi Sandy, I have too many guitars! Thanks again, Neville
