- In this series, we head to Battle Creek, Michigan to meet some fearless community leaders who are doing the work to #ChangeTheNarrative in their own backyard.
With support and funding from our sponsor W.K. Kellogg Foundation, five dynamic women share their experiences, challenges and show us how they are using racial healing circles and empowering themselves to create change. We’ll examine the diverse history of Battle Creek and see how the Black, Burmese and LatinX communities are addressing the legacies of inequity. Maya Eaglin reports.

I live in Battle Creek, and I have met some really nice people from Burma. I worked with them a few years back at EPI. very hard workers and get along well with those they come in Contact with. I wish them all the very best and hope they do achieve their dreams and positions they are trained for.
Seems like a really cool center
Only 30 minutes away from my hometown of Albion, MI.

Probably about as many people know where Battle Creek is.

You are so very wrong. I live in Battle Creek and know many Burmese. They are wonderful, kind and hard working.
If you don’t like Battle Creek, leave. If you don’t like America, leave. 🤷♀️
Must be how the Native Americans felt when Europeans came 😂
