For me now, it means "Please don't wait for someone to make a shiny, shorter version of God's Word, learn it straight from the Bible". Today it would probably have lyrics like "your DVR is full, there are 800 channels and you watched all of them, but did they touch your heart? Change your life or die for you?". The line that still translates really well, for me, is "Hollywood says the movie's better/ Special effects are the thing. But the miracles of the Father/ They can never put on-screen". As my Mom recently remarked to a friend, after hearing his amazing live show, Wow, this sounds JUST LIKE the CD!! :) I don't know why I was embarrassed, just like Mitch (McVicker, he's amazing live) , White Heart was for real. No autotune crud, just really really great voices and musicians. Which have definitely held up better than the hair and suits. :) I just love these guys.
I totally agree with you Amy! Rick Florian graduated from Taylor University a few years ahead of me. I was lucky enough to be there for his first concert as lead singer. Was a great show! These guys were the real deal!!! Over 30 years later and I still consider them one of my faves!
@@ehrldawg My apologies! I am now just seeing this. I didn’t get to meet Rick in person, but I did see him walking around the auditorium with his then girlfriend preparing for the show. He was really nervous. I also got to see Billy and Mark out in the foyer of the auditorium composing something. I remember Mark getting excited and having Billy listen to what he just come up with. Was an amazing time just hanging around the auditorium watching all this happen
This whole video is an outstanding Rock n Roll performance by any standard and the fact that it is basically exhorting/COMMANDING Bible reading makes it pack an unbelievable powerful punch, AMEN!

Yeah. I think a big reason they changed musically with this album is because Rick Florian became their lead singer. He definitely made the band so much better with him as the front man.
