If the top spring is a bit of a pain to put on with pliers, all you have to do is put the slip the top spring without the adjuster bar then slip the adjuster bar in place after.. So much easier and safer... Thanks for the upload. Great Video

clean is always good practice, also the ajuster should be unscrewed and thread lubricated and all the adjustment taken back out so the drum will fit on. I usually then adjust the wheel until a good fit with the drum having a little friction then once the handbrake is applied loosens up and final adjustments can be made.

Yes quite good i would have used some copperslip on the back of the shoes and cylinder etc and on the wheel studs...and i think i would have used something other than long nosed pliers to put the backplate springs on...just a suggestion...Fred in Essex.

Agreed, the correct tool is cheap enough to buy. It would have been good if inspection notes had been pointed out too and the suggestion of a general cleanup.

Your video is helpful but its really important to torque the wheel bearing(on the drum to the correct setting as the bearing requires preloading or it could fail prematurely and sometimes without warning). i have seen that you have replied to other comments and i quote "Thank you for the feedback! This video is considered to be an informative one, and it shows the sequence of repairs, so some stages of the repairs might have been excluded." and that is understandable in certain cases but i find it irresponsible to not highlight the importance of preloading that bearing,i noticed that you also did not torque the wheel nuts but i feel more people are aware of the importance of doing so.

I tried to remove my drum brakes cover but it won't come off. It's spins just fine so i know it's not jammed or anything but when i try to pull it off, it just won't come off. Any ideas?

Great video. I had taking my brake parts off and then the springs caused them to explode apart and i didn't know where they went. You video showed me but i had no brakes after finishing. The self adjust assembly was wrong and i had to redo it. Your video doesn't show the important of getting that part right with the stepped fitting. Must go back on orientated correctly or the adjust doesn't work. Critical for safety.

get a workshop service manual for your car, in there you have detailed diagrams of whole systems with detailed steps for dismantling or installing anything, also all the torque setting and everything! Dont mess with your car without this
Not sure if you still reply to comments, but i did this and now my breaks doesnt work at all. I can floor my break pedal all the way down and the car wount break. Not sure why that is??? I wasnt able to Get the drum back on so i rotated the bar with the metal teeths on it and also opened the screw that the break pads is against. The one with oil and spring inside. Could that have done something??

Hello, I couldn't get the nut off the left side break (haven't tried the right one yet) is it locked in some way or have some mechanic thighten it realy hard. Couldn't see any "lock" or is the screw threaded the "wrong" way?

We recommend to apply for a certified service station, with the help of professional equipment, the problem will be solved more easily, besides doing repairs yourself, there is a risk of ripping the thread and thereby significantly complicate and increase the cost of repairs.
Good video but why aren't you giving torque settings for the hub nut and wheel nuts? Don't forget inexperienced people might try and take these jobs on and they might leave nuts/bolts too loose or too tight. Could cause an accident.

Anyone brought the recent Delphi shoes the panel hook to go in the handbrake wire recieving end wont go in atall up against the original its like an elephant and totaly not fit for purpose

Has a few nuances, but the technologies are changing and such systems are becoming less popular. Does the rear nearside hub unscrew clockwise, or the same as the offside does?
The left hub unscrews in the same way as the right one.
Didn't even adjust the play on the drum for the handbreak

Undo rear 27mm w. breaker bar, NOT an impact wrench. You'll damage your wheel bearing.

Good but should be cleaned, and torque range the central and wheel nuts....as it is it is not safe to drive 🙄 😒 😕
You are absolutely right. All places during dismantling should be cleaned from dirt and rust.
