Both games maps are meant to be somewhat reminiscent of A Link to the Past. Strangely they are both closer to ALTTP than they are to each other, but still have a lot of similarities to each other too.
I like how the temple entrance statues at 2:32 are interpreted differently in both games. In one it has whiskers in the other it's hands.
Look like long fingers to me in ALBW, and closer to the original sprites in ALTTP
The scale is all over the place, but it's fun they got the important stuff down
I like that they based the echoes of wisdom map more on A Link to the Past than A Link Between Worlds
gotta base a new bold zelda game off another peak zelda game duh!
I love between worlds so it's the reverse to me :/
Especially since the mountain to the north of Hyrule Castle is supposed to be Mount Hebra instead of Eldin Volcano.
Makes the timeline situation just that much more of a mess tho
Lore wise it should be more close to Between Worlds

Still feeling blessed I finally finished it this year and never got the finale spoiled. Also I love Ravio, he's just the coolest. Saw a screenshot of him and nearly started bawling my eyes out too 😅🥲

I am totally adoring Echoes of Wisdom though.

I think it's kinda cool that these form a trilogy with ALTTP even though they all seem to be different timelines
I'm pretty sure ALBW is in the Decline timeline same as ALttP, dunno about EoW but I have the feeling it might also be in the Decline timeline

They're on the same timeline. It's just that Echoes of Wisdom is further along.
What makes you think they're on different timelines?
ALBW is called Triforce of the Gods 2 in Japan which is the equivalent to ALttP being called Triforce of the Gods in Japan.
Echoes of Wisdom makes a comment about something that only showed up in ALttP and ALBW making it a massive hint towards being after ALBW.
there's something funny about thinking the amount of game they're cramming in between LTTP and the NES games over the years
I'd love to see them do a top down game, in the style of Ocarina of Time 3D, with a similar overworld but a new story and era.

Insane how we have been exploring the same version of Hyrule for 3 games now.
Link Between Worlds had a much better artstyle than the Link's Awakening remake or Echoes of Wisdom one.
From the character designs to the environment it just looks a lot less plastic-y, I really hope they bring the ALBW style back over the new one.
And I'm not talking about the viewangle, the lower one looks better in EoW
This game definitely takes place after ALBW & possibly even after Adventure Of Link. Being post AOL would explain why Kakariko moved so drastically

Looks like my friend is wrong with the EoW map beong closer to ALBW than ALTTP, lmao
I wish they had used the art style for ALBW for EoW. I don't necessarily hate the chibi artstyle of EoW, but I do prefer the character designs in ALBW.
