Rob, I have been watching you since elementary and now I'm in college. I'm happy you still make videos because in this world we live in we need some honest, funny, & less click-baity content for once, lol.
1:19 the green mug next to the projector disappears. 5:22 that’s the sound of a zipper 6:49 We created 485 squares/boxes 13:00 You made 68 precreases 32:07 Man, that Unidentified Flying Origami Object was moving quite fast XD
Arnav Sinha Roy nice job dude.. but how did you get 485? I was thinking of a different number but also knew there are cubes within cubes and such. Can you explain?
Rob's World Well Rob, you divided your paper into two sides (therefore 2 squares with dimensions of 8x8) and then you had all of the smallest squares (I call them 1x1s and there were 168 of them). But then I began to count all the squares with dimensions of 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, 5x5, 6x6 and 7x7. I added all my results and I got 485. I hope that explains it all. What number were you thinking of?
You did get most of them correct, so you know what I will pin it for a bit just for you watching through and trying! Great job man :-) But next time, I will say that no editing of comments will be allowed (though I may have the original somewhere)! :-P
I see I knew someone would think of of doing the “squares within squares” method. I got 128 but props to you for that. Is your comment pinned for some reason it doesnt looked pinned on my browser
Not gonna lie. the tape had me in trouble for a bit but I got it and it looks awesome! could totally be better but not bad for my first one. drawing the lies and having bigger models to view was BIG help. You explained it perfectly!
Rob! I've tried making this 7 years ago and I literally couldn't find an in depth and easy to follow tutorial !! Thank you so much!! This video is the best!!
Such an underrated video. Everything is explained in detail, like even teachers don't elaborate maths the way u have demonstrated the origami ball😭😭 because of u, i did it it less then 1 hour lol. Thank you! (Hope this video reaches 1 million soon)
It was actually pretty hard, but I finished it. Rob, you and Jeremy Shafer are my favourite origami teachers. I started doing like easy origami when I was 5 and now I can make harder and more complicated models. Thank you Rob!!!!!!!!!
I’ve been trying this one for years I’ve also watched you for a year or so and didn’t realize you made a video on this I probably put 20 hours into trying to make it and finally in one hour on your video made it, Thank You.
Thanks to all you guys for the support! I know this isn’t like my usual tutorials but the magic ball contains many repetitive folds. Therefore try watching it in parts and then pause the video and try it yourself. That OR you can now change the SPEED settings on TH-cam. Either way I DO NOT recommend you try to follow along. You’ll find it’s not that hard once you practice and do it a few times (took me about 4 or 5). Thanks again and see you soon
Rob's World hi. Thanks for replying to my comment earlier I am a big fan. I really need help. I always struggle with the X's and Y's around the 15 minute mark. Can you help?
Hey guys, so it’s finally out... my own version of the mini magic Ball (in 4K!). Thanks to All who commented on my last video. There are either 3, 4, 5, or 6 “secret subtitles”. Please show support on this video also by commenting and Giving a Thumbs Up! Guess one question and I’ll thumbs up your video and may even love it and pick it for my “choice comment”. If you get 4 or more, I will PIN YOUR COMMENT, respond to you and even give a shout out in the next video! Thanks for watching.👍🏻
This is not a beginner model and I made it as easy as I could. Like I said, try watching it first then doing it. I’d also recommend trying the origami Rose and Kaleidoscope first
Yuh I really missed rob and ever since he left I haven't done origami but now he's back and time to whip it he dust of the origami paper! Good to have you back rob you rock!
Dear Robert,I have been watching your channel for a very long time.I appreciate you for teaching me how to make a paper popper all the way to this squishy ball.Thank you for making your channel!Appreciate it man!
Hey Rob, I tried this today. Took me 2.5 hours but I did it! I got it right on the first try! I did have some trouble with the water bombs and 'x' folds but I did it and it turned out great!👍❤️
Hey rob I have been your viewer since 10 years and I'm 16 now I still remember your rubiks cube vids and your ninja star vids. Thank you for this wonderful decade I feel very great when I make so.e of your projects you have the most simplified tutorials on the net . Love the vids keep it up
I'm so glad you still make videos. About 3 or 4 years ago I watched like all your videos. I found myself bored and remembered how helpful your channel is. Keep up the good work!
Hey Rob! So I was wondering about giving you a challenge. If folding the mini magic ball requires a 8x16 grid, a bigger version of the magic ball requires a 16x32 grid, can you go higher up and make the ultra magic ball with 32x64 grid? I bet its gonna be awesome to play with and capable of doing other stuff as well. So, are you up for the challenge?
Yes! Thank you so much Rob! You took our wish for granted! I wanted to learn how to make it and I still do. You alway never let me down. Biggest origami fan here!! :)
Amos Wibowo Actually I first learned origami from Rob. He was the first person that got me into origami so that’s why I will always prefer Rob. I still like Jeremy Shafer, but I like Rob more. No offense to Jeremy though.
Damn.I feel so old now.I have been watching you back in 2012 where i was 9yrs old now im 15,miss those old days, :(.Thanks for the amazing tutorial m8 my first origami i learnt from you was the shuriken
This is a fantastic tutorial. I subscribed! I love everything about it! You drew lines and dots on it, you explained super well, and you did it at a pace that I could follow! 10/10 my dude! Loved it!
Was anyone else thinking it reminded them of light shades their mums/grandparents used to have? Yeah, my attention span got lost somewhere near 32.08 when it became quite clear to me that I'd never have the patience to make one of these, but I could play with one for ever such a long time!! 🤣🤣
Rob i made 2 mini magic balls and they were perfect! i used transparent tape but it got off of the box then i thought of duct tape so i did it! thanks soo much bro!!
Emilie Parker try going slower and listen carefully. Also, you need a considerable amount of experience, and having knowledge of basic folds and bases, like the waterbomb base and the reverse fold

I wanna do this soooooo badly but its too hard😢😢😢
Emilie Parker try going slower and listen carefully. Also, you need a considerable amount of experience, and having knowledge of basic folds and bases, like the waterbomb base and the reverse fold
Got it right first try! Thanks😊
better not take another 3 year hiatus
No, working on a new video sorry for the wait. I will post an update soon as to when it will be out (prob by next weekend)

Wow, I was looking for a video on how to do an origami peacock tail but I couldn't find one so I just clicked on this instead.
I also couldn't find any videos on how to make an origami fan? This one looks super cool and is definitely worth taking an hour on instead of making some hasty folds to make a mediocre fan capable of doing the exactly same thing.
(I do love these videos though, I just a naturallu sarcastic person.)
The mug disappeared!

For some reason I can't pin this comment and it's annoying me :-(
