The first time AJ and Fluttershy worked together was in Season 6 when the had to go to Las Pegasus, so technically in cannon this is their second “Map-Mission “ together as a team. Kirin are mythical creatures from Asia and are unique to look at. There are a lot fans that enjoy these characters, especially Autumn Blaze. So much fan-art based on this new species.

Throughout all of the places we see in this show there are plenty of young creatures, little foals, young griffons, hippogriffs and dragons, but no young Kirin. I can't help but think that the stream of silence is responsible for that

I really love this episode... the Kirin were adorable and Flutters and AJ were both good working together, even though they didn't see eye to eye... just the concept is pretty amazing and I think this ep is my fave of the season

Though, considering the colours of the Rainbow and how Rockhoof himself said no one knows much about that area... it suddenly makes me wonder if this area is actually Dream Valley. Regarding the Vow of Silence... how did that work for the children? I mean, I'm kinda worried since we never see a single child in the village all episode. And were the children forced to take the Vow of Silence too? If so, that's pretty dark, when you stop and think about it. Plus, how would the children learn in school? How would they answer questions asked of them? And is the lack of seeing any Kirin children a sign that, since taking the Vow of Silence no Kirin has had children at all? Plus, what if their kids were still babies at the time? Not only is the idea of making a BABY go through the Vow of Silence fucked up... what if it needs its parents in the middle of the night? Babies wake up at night and cry until their parents get them... so what happens when the baby's cries are silent, thus the parents never hear it? This is fucked up when you really think about it. And what if a Kirin kid gets lost or falls down a hole, injuring themselves? They can't call for help, nor can any search parties call out to them? The more and more you think about it, it's a bloody miracle the Kirin didn't die out before Applejack and Fluttershy got there
I like the music you put in the beginning, to go with the fact that Kirin are based on a creature from Chinese mythology? But the music sounds more Japanese. I don't really know. Maybe they both have similar instruments. :T I like the Asian styled music. Mostly because I like a lot of Chinese things. (And Japanese, too, I guess.) My second favorite Dreamworks franchise is also Kung Fu Panda xD Kirin are my favorite species in MLP :D

The best way to remember the name of the Nirik is that it's Kirin spelled backwards. The Kirin are from Chinese mythology and are considered the Chinese version of unicorns (though Kirin are more chimeric than equine). As for the Nirik, they are original to this (even though they are just the alter-egos of the Kirin). Maud is a Kirin, confirmed.
So the Kirin turn into fiery Nirik when they are angry and arguing. I bet if the Sirens would feed off there negative energy, it would give them great power. And hopefully we'll find out what happened to them in next year's March Equestria girls movie.
Making it this far into MLP's run, don't you think one-off characters like Cheese Sandwich, Countess Coloratura, and now Autumn Blaze (along with notable, significant others) rightfully deserve a return on the show?
It seems like when Harmony is sending ponies on quests that the individuals sent need to learn something as well. Applejack and Fluttershy doesn't seem to have alot of respect for each other
I have an issue with the whole "first time the map has sent the same ponies" thing. It makes it sound like the only map missions have been the ones in the episodes. There should be more missions happening off screen.
Doesn't #BurningBlaze seem kind of redundant? I think #AutumnAxe sounds cooler. It's pretty neat how your names fit together well either way, due to having reversed initials (BA and AB).

This is a fantastic episode. Autumn Blaze is great. Applejack and Fluttershy make a great dynamic. The kirin are great.

Nah, if there is a worth while mission to go on then it will have an episode. The tree isn't going to bother with sending them on small missions.
