I have been to India before and caught many cycle rickshaws they would charge 40 ruppees for 2 people to go a few miles in hot weather and traffic I would often give them double the fair..Coming from America (Hawaii) our conversion rate is about 1 US dollar to 64 Ruppees and couldnt live with myself giving someone less than $1 for that kind of labor...Hats off to Indian people they work so hard for what little they make (If any) and mostly just to eat..great country,great culture and beautiful people!!
My older brother was a pedicab driver back in the day then a pedicab mechanic. That was when pedicabs were all over Waikiki - I guess they outlawed them. But there are pedicabs here in San Jose California. I thought about saving up for one but I am old and small. Instead at least in the Before Times I'd play music and I was starting to make some really decent money.
Indian people are very admirable. They may not earn a lot but their clothes are clean and that little detail says a lot. And even if it isn't a lot or have nobody to take care of they do still work. There's no wonder why India is progressing so much, I've always admired Indians hard work
do you think the cameraman/woman started to get nervous whe he/she discovered vincent was TOTALLY wasted while driving - he barely looks at the road - so funny!!
I would pay 50 rupees per ride because it is worth more than that and that is quite a bit of money to a rickshaw man. I always paid 50 rupees even just to get to the nearest store by my house in Goa when I lived in India.
It is very sad to see the Misery and Pain for MILLIONS of Indians... 70% Population live in POVERTY... Politicians, Govt Officials and Big Businesses are LOOTING the Country.
The money must be in relation or it makes no sense. In Germany poor ppl live on 400€ per month depending on region but the food costs are same everywhere. It sounds much but it is very less. U need to pay electricity, food, hygiene products, shoes, clothes and it is cold the most times a year. No cinema no theatre no action fun. Healthy food which includes vegetables and fruits, cheap meat (it has no quality, also animals lived under bad conditions) costs 350€ for sure per person per month. So what is $2 per day where food is cheap!
Don't worry about those people who are suffering their whole life. They have no choice so they have to suffer. That's how it is designed by God. In the end they are the ones who will go to Heaven. Heavens are designed for them and not for the rich people who live in big towns and cities worried about more comforts and enjoyments and pleasures and want more and more and more.
