I live in Malaysia and fish like chili rasbora and dwarf rasbora live in quite a range of water from low pH to neutral and stagnant water to slight flow (they usually avoid fast flowing water). You can find them usually in area like palm oil plantation, and on the edge of a river in shaded area. other rasbora like and barb can be found in similar condition as well.
I REALLY like this scape. I Love the extra detail with the thinner/smaller pieces you put as "roots". Made all the difference in my opinion. Awesome video. Also, nice little cameo with Fish Shop Quinn. He's so cute and gotten so big. I love seeing him!
Wow!!! Beautiful!! Great job Matt 😀 I would've put a small peace lily or something above the roots, making it look like a small tree with the whole root system 🤩
Oh, wow, I love this scape and the little rasboras are exactly what's needed in this one :) Greatest one for sure! Very relaxing and inspiring video, too. Thank for your beautiful channel😊
Over the past year I've really fallen in love with epiphyte plants. I've got two tanks that I was struggling to get plants in (because they were set up with gravel substrates) and now they are anubias and java fern gardens. I added some buce a month ago, and bolbitis a couple days ago. I somehow managed to superglue sand to the ends of my fingers in the process, lol. I love your chili rasbora set up, I would love to get some of those someday. Also, Fish Shop Quinn is growing up so fast! He's adorable.
I love your builds! I have to point out though, that you used your lovely plant trimming scissors to cut that plastic and it broke my heart a little… I am a dressmaker and we are very strict about having different scissors for every purpose. 😂
Of all the rasbora species, the chili is my absolute favorite. I have a school of 10 in my community tank (5 fish species, 4 snail species), and they have the most wonderful personalities. Very playful, curious and once they get settled, assertive. A lot of people describe them as always shy, but in the right conditions and if their school is the largest, they will occupy the largest territory and they will even pick and choose who enters said territory and who doesn't. It's quite fascinating to watch. These fish are super intelligent. Chilis also love to hang out in one spot under leaves or branches and they will stare back at you for quite a while. If you put in snails, especially big snails, they'll watch the snails eat for hours. I wish there was a way to share it here, but I've got a video of my chilis intensely watching the Japanese trapdoor snails I used to have, and it's hilarious the way they were so invested in a JTS eating an algae wafer.
@@FishShopMatt You're welcome! They truly are fun to watch. The tank you setup for them is actually perfect for their behavior, they like lots of caves and quick hiding places. Having them out and about within days of putting them in the tank is a great sign. Any plans for breeding?
Lovely little tank 😊couple of snails & shrimp tank is kicking 😁 thinking of something similar in a 46ltr fluval edge lots of plants the edge is a challenge all of its own when doing a scape, can be challenging but beautiful when done.. thank you Matt
Watching you as well as you with MD, it looks like SuperFish make some really neat products. I've searched around, but they don't seem to be available on this side of the Pond. Maybe one day. I'd really like to try out their lighting. Just a thought. And the tank is absolutely gorgeous, Matt! You're creativity really came through on this one. Have a fantastic week! ~Ron
Love this tank, its so simple.... watch the Süßwassertang as once it starts to grow it can take over, and your right it is a fern disguised as a liverwort...
Love this!! Turning that bit of wood upside down and putting it on top of that rock was genius 👌 the plant on top made it. Awesome build ✌️💜 Will you be signing the NT Labs test kit? 🤣
Beautiful nanos set up The only thing I would add to And it might be something you do down the road would be some shrimp To add more color and movement
I finally got a little fluval Flex 9 and did a little scape for some Chilies. My fist real try at making something nice. Thanks for the education, entertainment and encouragement.
Love this style of tank, reminds me of a slightly larger version of one of my shrimp tanks, with that central volcanic shape! Great work as always Matt!
Hi, Matt!!! I'm building up from a 3 gallon bowl with shrimp. I now have them, a 6 gallon betta tank and fixing to jump to the 30. The shrimp and betta are both in planted tanks and growing the plants for the 30! Can't wait!
Looks great Matt! Love the roots - like we have a little peak into a river! My favorite style. It would be fun to add some wild type neo shrimp as well and watch them enjoy the hardacape. 😊
That's my plan I think. I've got a colony of cherry shrimp that have reverted to browns and blacks so I may pop them in there! My other thought was something like a small gourami or wild betta!
Amazing setup. Wonderful job F.S. Matt. Can't wait to see what's next. Maybe you and MD should get a couple tanks the same size, with the same fish, and the same style substrate and wood, and use the same plants and rock, and do a tank setup competition to see how different your tanks turn out. Once again, great video Matt. Keep'em coming.
Fantastic video Mateo!! Great looking tank too! Really love the detail of the small roots, it looks SO realistic!! Also, great job pairing the right fish with the tank! Cant wait for the next one!!!
A great aquascape that anyone could do. Lovely nano fish especially chilli rasbora’s and Pygmy corie’s. These are great tanks for nano fish, didn’t know about superfish brand before MD and your video’s.👍🌿
yes Subwassertang is a member of the fern family. I like the choice of plants with 1 exception, monte carlo instead of tripartita, Tripartita will prefer to bush and instead of trailing down
I luv the way you include all the bits I’ve brought pliers scissors now where did I put them like we all do or standing on a stool & off course their just outta reach & yha know the words that follow but can’t be included 😊
Love Chili rasbora but so hard to get hold of in Worthing Sussex even though I have two maiden head aquatic shops close by. Love this set up might do a cheeky copy😉
I love it! It looks great and I love the Chilis. The branches and little twigs look perfect in there and I was so interested to see how you made those large stones work in that size tank. Lots of helpful ideas. Super fun video to watch and I love that it was relatively simple to do.
Great stuff! Love to sit down after bringing the kids to bed, watching your videos to relax after busy days. Keep em videos coming Matt. Love from the Netherlands
Cool stuff. But you had me with the single big stone. Sort of a monument that was crafted by ancient people. Now submerged, it's worshipped by red fish people.
That really is an incredible Scape you done... Brilliant work on the wood and bringing it all together... Bravo Mate, can't wait to see what you got in store for us on the two next to it... Cheers from South Texas 😎🤙
Great vid. Also TBF, one of the biggest tips I think I took from this that you didn't really refer to was how you opened the cable tie bag. At first I was calling you a madman, but cutting it in the middle makes so much sense!
Highly advise you drop the water by another 2cm, they are jumpers for sure & frogbit is a must, they'll definitely hang out more in the open with overhead cover.
What a nice setup! We cannot find chili rasbora here. Those little loaches are really nice as well. Thank you for the upload. Fish Shop Quinn is so adorable. 🥰
Bought a shaker 168 after watching your video. Put it in lots of plants and added 25 Danio erythromicron and a few neocaradina. Was thinking of chilli rasbora, but nobody has stock in Ireland 😢 Thinking for keeping it species only. Happy Sunday, cheers Matt👍
so cool you've got a giveaway with NT labs! and the scape is very cool, im not one personally for putting lots of twiggy stuff coz i like letting my scapes get covered in plants so its kinda pointless, but the detail does look very awesome with the plants you've chosen.
What is always funny to me is when I scape something and I put so much effort to place for instance certain rock, and I spend a lot of time doing it only for that rock never to bee seen again 😂 It's really lovely aquarium, and those little roots improved it immensely, only small critique would be that imo you should have used microsorum trident or narrow as it would fit little bit better. But all in all I love it.
He's actually a aquatics genius. You study this guy and you can save yourself a decade of trial and error.
Who doesn't love chili rasbora
Exactly! Cute little chaps. I'm thinking they need more friends in there eventually though.
@@FishShopMatthi Matt! I have got my 10 gallon with 13 chillies and 8 cpd (from 10 as 2 jumped 😭)
I wanted to buy those but my local shop was out of stock so I bought cpd's.

I won the giveaway!! Thank you and NT Labs so much for hosting! Can’t wait to receive and start using everything 🥰
Congrats 🎉
How lucky! Congratulations!🐟🐟🐟
Excellent! Thoroughly enjoyed watching this build. You baby has grown so much and what a wee cutie face:)☺🐟💙
Awww thank you! Yeah he has grown so much it's scary!
Love how that top piece of wood fit perfectly!!! Was meant to be! Love the look of the little fine roots. Your little boy is a mini you!!! 😊
It did make me quite happy when it sat on top! He is a mini me which means I'm in trouble hahaha.

love your work ❤ and love from india 🇮🇳

The noise I made when that piece of wood fit so perfectly on top of the knobby bits😭😂 beautiful tank Matt!

I wish you were in the states!!! Love your creativity in your scapes and thank you on so much for the information!! Helps me a lot!!

Wow that's a cool tank...anyone else think it looked like an alien egg, or am I watching too many scary films
Beautiful little slice of nature
The hardscape reminds me of a heart! (Real heart not an icon lol) Love it!

Beautiful build, mate. Now Im sat here staring at a 10 gallonof mine that I've never been quite happy with. You got the wheels turning!

Yeah do it! Just don't overthink it!
i wish i could find some chilli rasboras in Australia, id love to put them with some neon green rasboras
Maybe look for Ruby tetra same red and still a nano species.
