Thanks for this video bro! Very informative! I have a few questions about playback. 1. Does playback require wifi live? 2. It seems like click & guide and stems are already separated for you in the mix. Would I just need two channels in form of an interface for playback to be used live? What do you use? 3. I know stems can take up a lot of space and memory on devices, would that take up memory space on my iPad or does the storage save in a cloud with multi tracks? 4. How many GB’s would you recommend on an iPad if I wanted use playback on a weekend basis?
Hi Victor, 1. Playback does not require Wi-Fi live. However, when you are downloading the tracks you will need Wi-Fi. 2. On the Playback app, the click and guide is panned to the left, and the stems and pad are panned to the right. You could use a stereo RCA cable that has one headphone jack (to your iPad), and two 1/4” TRS jacks (One for the left, and one for the right). You would plug the left into your box for your click and guide, and the right side to the box that would be your tracks and pad. You could also use one of the Multitracks approved USB audio interfaces to have more customizability for mixing each bus or even each individual track. 3. The stems that you purchase from multitracks are stored on the cloud, thus not taking up any storage on your device. However, when accessing them for use, you must download them. 4. Storage requirements are not too crazy. With 8GBs of storage you can run Playback pretty well. However, because of CPU requirements, you might have to have other apps closed to not overload the CPU. Hope this helps!
Thanks! Btw, is the guide - that lady voice speaks “build”, “all in”.. etc. I noticed that in the other app I am using from this developer, the guide tells the dynamics as well. Thanks
2.) How do you cut the intro/start to only 1 count in. For instance if we’re in 4/4 timing. As soon as new song starts I only want intro>2>3>4, not 1 > 2 > intro >2>3>4.
Pan the click/guide to the left, then everything else to the right. Then use a stereo RCA audio cable(with a quarter inch converter) to connect to a direct box with L/R stereo inputs. Then on the board, you’ll use two channels, one for click/guide and the other for tracks.
If you want to hear it in stereo (better sound) you can use an interface and send 2 outputs (L/R) and 1 (L mono) for click and guide only. You should have three outputs. The 2 stereo (L/R) goes to FOH and the other only send to monitors.
Thanks man! Been issuing ableton but need to learn playback now. You hit everything I needed especially the transitions! God bless you!
Very helpful. What an amazing tool to learn parts and arranging.
Thank you for your videos. Can I ask you a favor to make a video how to work with back vocals to turn them on and off at the right places pls. Thanks
we're a small town church with no musicians so we use this as sequences and just sing over them.
We keep all instruments except lead voice.
thanks for this easy to understand tutorial.

How do you make it so your team hears the click/navigation through their IEMs but doesn't come through the front of house?

Do majority (or all) songs separate the BVs themselves? ie Tenors/Alto/Sops etc.? As opposed to grouping them all under BVs?
Hi! Do you have to buy each song
My songs never download they just get stuck halfway through. Has anybody had this problem?

Sadly, you can only use songs from multi tracks. I don’t think you can add a song that someone else made.
