Great analysis of Zach Wilson’s play in that game. Fair & expert. I feel bad that you didn’t see any of his top 10 throws this season. He throws one of the prettiest long balls in football.

First time watching your podcast. I’m now a subscriber. Really enjoyed it. I’m a BYU fan and we saw some of the bright spots you mentioned during Zach’s freshman year then watched him struggle at times last year. This year he seems to be putting it together and the degree to which he and his receivers seem to be in sync on the field is pretty impressive. Their freshman TE #83 (Rex) is also starting to get in sync with ZW as well. Rex has caught 21 passes from ZW this year and so far of those, 13 catches went for 1st downs and 6 for TD’s. That’s solid production.
Amazing analysis as always! Definitely concerned with the bad but the potential if he cleans that up looks good! Can’t wait to see how he develops over the season! Thanks for the shoutout JT!
I have this feeling this man will be equal to Mitchell Trubisky . Though he says staring down the receiver on the play at 6:02 doesn’t matter. If he scanned he would have seen more open man to his right. With a free throwing lane . He also had no pressure. Then when he almost gets his receiver killed, there is no pressure. I fear he may be too paranoid and quick with the draw. Roll outs are better for him because it mobilizes him and may calm him down to the rush.
I like his swagger on the field, he just looks confident in what he's doing. Just as long as what he's doing is making good decisions. I think he'd be a great fit for the Bears!
I wish this was over the season and not just a single game. This kind of breakdown is awesome. What impresses me most about Zach is his demeanor. Doesn't get flustered, always keeps his cool, shakes off his mistakes. What worries me the most is that sometimes he holds the ball for too long and takes bad sacs when he should have thrown it away.
Loved the breakdown. I remember thinking those same things on that interception as I watched it happen. TE across the middle was open as was the out at the bottom of the screen. Definitely a predetermined throw, one which he likes a lot. It's also worth noting that was a backup freshman WR, too. Not saying the decision was good, but rapport and experience make a big difference with that type of route.

I totally agree that he tries to get too cute sometimes and make splash plays when they're not there, but that may also be a product of his opponent, the score, and the fact that he knows he's good, and wants to have some fun trying backyard plays to see if they work. Overall, I've seen him make all the throws from and outside the pocket pretty much, and I've been impressed with his accuracy and arm strength. Only knock on him will be that he's playing in a much weaker conference than most of the other 1st round level QBs, but as you've clearly illustrated here, he's doing higher level things regardless of the opponent, and I think that definitely translates to the NFL. Mr. QB School, would you be interested in specifically analyzing plays where Zach Wilson is pressured? The biggest knock against him I hear is that we don't know what Zach Wilson looks like with real pressure in his face. I believe that his decisiveness, elusiveness, and ability to navigate the pocket really helps alleviate that pressure (when the O-line isn't giving him a lot of time).
I absolutely love these breakdowns. Did this guy play division one college or NFL football? He knows more than most and sees things plenty never mention. Edit: Kind of the broadcasting Tony Romo of TH-cam.
Love the breakdown!! If GM where would you consider taking him? Is he a project to sit behind a Big Ben or a brees? Is he someone you can play straight away in a well run team (pats, 49ers)?
in my unprofessional opinion i think he is best suited sitting behind a vet for a year or two.. also a place with a good qb coach in place, such as pittsburgh who has big ben to sit behind and matt canada as their qb coach.. i think that would be ideal.. i am also a steelers fan ;)
@@colesensheaffer he's a top 15 draft pick in the draft. They don't sit for 2 years on the bench. He could sit half the season, if that his first year.
On the murder ball with the split safeties he just has to wait for the WR to clear into the second window bc the safety is shaded slightly outside and jumps the slant. I watched Favre do this a lot wait until he crosses the safety, gun it in there.
Do you think he’s keeping the ball too low when rolling out after PA? At least one play he had the ball near his waste, which added extra motion to his arm action. Ideally, wouldn’t he keep it higher to avoid strip sack from behind and keep his mechanics tight on the move?
How do you get the type of film that you use in your videos? I really like looking at games at these kinds of angles and was wondering if you tell me how to get them
@Ed Coke That was a lot of words to say nothing. You have no idea what we've been through. Loong time Panthers fan here, and lemme just say *clears throat* FUCK TEDDY...
Good idea.
@@TheQBSchool You replied before I even finished your video. You are elite, Sir. I subscribed before your reply too.

Im learning so much and im 13 so this can help me read defense's
I absolutely love these breakdowns. Did this guy play division one college or NFL football? He knows more than most and sees things plenty never mention.
Edit: Kind of the broadcasting Tony Romo of TH-cam.
Broncos fan here watching this and I really hope Payton can work with Wilson and tap into his potential.
I been waiting on this one. He seems like he has speed but sometimes throws off his back foot
No doubt made some bigtime throws.
@@TheQBSchool I find myself looking to see what QB is using his head vs his physical abilities

Thank you
You're welcome
That RPO at 18:00 looked like if read by the defense better could be a pick 6 imo..
@@colesensheaffer haha as a Pats fan after watching him last night if we draft him I’d be buzzing
@@colesensheaffer he's a top 15 draft pick in the draft. They don't sit for 2 years on the bench. He could sit half the season, if that his first year.
Hopping for a BFA (brazilian league) someday...
Love your videos, though. Keep doing it!!!!!
I hope so too!
Great info.
My guy came through with the Wilson analysis 🙌🏼
Fo sure
Some nice play, seems like you are very critical about a couple of the plays remember he only had two Ints so far and a few touch Down
On the murder ball with the split safeties he just has to wait for the WR to clear into the second window bc the safety is shaded slightly outside and jumps the slant.
Love your videos
Appreciate ya
How do you get the type of film that you use in your videos? I really like looking at games at these kinds of angles and was wondering if you tell me how to get them
Bears need this kid from BYU like Jimmy Mac.
@Ed Coke That was a lot of words to say nothing. You have no idea what we've been through. We DO NOT support Pace and Nagy for the screw ups they've made at the quarterback position, we don't like the direction this team has taken the last 30 years and yes, we DO deserve a franchise quarterback. Take your Steelers entitlement and stay out of our business. We have no control over our front office and neither do you. You have been fortunate to have the success you have had so enjoy it while it lasts, because it won't. Good day.
We have signed CB Johnathan Joseph, activated LB Devon Kennard and CB Byron Murphy from the Reserve/COVID-19 list and made other roster moves.
Washington will draft him
I’m praying they do
nice video...but does he ever play under center? (kinda important for Kyles' system)
would love to see analysis of the difference with wilsons first and second half of the season
so with all the funny stuff aside a great recap of BYU 1
