For this project we'll need maple syrup, I live in the US I just got some at the grocery store but If you're in Canada you can probably find some on the sidewalk
It's actually considered a valued commodity, and there are/were syrup cartels stealing and selling black market syrup. Although you aren't wrong. After the great maple war of 2019, we have had an increase in production leading to an overflowing of the product, leading to the great plains syrup run of 2020. So yes, we use gondolas now to get through the syrup canals.
I loved your comment about finding casings on the sidewalk, very witty! And it's not too far fetched. I've found .45 bullets in the parking lot near my work living in Washington State.
"if ur from the usa u can probably just find these on the sidewalk or somethin' " got me cracked up hahahahhahah im not from usa but that was funny af lmao
The speaker said that casing were found on American sidewalks, so I was responding with humorous sarcasm. Now, if you talk about the gun ranges I go to, yes, there are so many casings one can walk on them and not touch earth.
haha great stuff, I did this when I was much younger. I was obcessed with firearms and I used to make guns out of cardboard. I decided to get firecrackers and insert a metal tube into a cardboard gun, light a firecracker and drop it into the barrel then quickly stuff a projectile into the barrel with great results like this. I got my projectiles to penetrate like 5 soda cans or like 4 cardboard boxes. I didn't have spare empty shell casings or a drill to go this far but I got great results as well. very creative.
Super easy way to make the firecrackers load easier into the bullet casing is to slip a long thin piece of string through the hole from the outside and let it dangle through the front of the bullet casing, then tie a quick knot around the firecracker fuse, and pull on the other end of the sting. It'll pull the fuse through with it, but be careful not to yank it too hard or you might pull the fuse out.
I'm from the USA and I have to admit you are right, it is likely we can find spent bullet casings on the sidewalk or something..usually 9mm. I just collect my own pistol and rifle brass when I leave the range to reload. I figure I paid for it, I'm keeping it lol. I honestly don't have any idea why my fellow Americans got so bent out of shape over your little joke, I laughed like Hell lol..it's not like we don't have our shoot outs here! Nice little video :-)
@graytv-7345 The US. Go to any big metro city here on any given weekend and you're liable to find brass. I was a police officer for years as well and have been to several scenes where gunfire took place and there was plenty of spent brass laying around.
one thing ive always noticed when you go on the cannon or reload forums is that they say do not use flash powder for cannons, im a mythbust kind of dude and dont listen to any body as i like to do my own tests, but i have asked many questions like what if you ise 10 inch thick wall steel casing and only a 1/4 inch hole and filled it with flash than would it beable to project a projectile faster than gun powder, and every single person say "it will blow up"!!!!!!! they never answer my main question, and they seem to not notice i said 10" thick walls' a nuclear bomb would have a tough time!!!!!! i dont understand some people, they think they know everything. im glad you made this video, even thow its barely any flashnpowder it goes to show these other stupid guys that the casing will not allways explode, it just depends how thick of a casing you have and what metals is used and how much you load it
just use a string to feed through the whole, then tie it to the fuze... You can then use the string to feed the fuze through the tiny hole... Like a fish tape.
Why go through the trouble of inserting and removing the fire crackers when you could achieve similar if not better results from plain powder in the shell...
I made an m80 cannon from piping i got from a local hardware store. I have a kiln so i make my own cannon balls by mixing clay, sand and a little bit of cement mix. I put the mixture into a mould to make them perfectly round. I kiln them then paint them with high gloss spray paint so the balls don't vaporize on ignition.
.223 is not exactly the same as 5.56 just saying. Don't shoot 5.56 out of a .223 chambered gun. you can shoot .223 out of 5.56 gun though. But yeah, don't tell people they are th exact same, that's how rifles get fucked up
a used 30/30 she'll will work better and it will fit in a piece of 1/2 inch steel pipe. if you decap the shell (remove the primer) you will not have to drill it out. it will also make threading the firecracker a lot easier. match heads can be added around the firecracker to give it more punch. or you can break open a few firecrackers and pour the powder in with it. a piece of toilet paper makes good wadding or buffer for your projectile.
I don't understand why everyone got mad at him when he said you can find the casing on the sidewalks, to me it was really funny (And it resembles our freedom)
I love how he said he thinks that the 270 cartridge was a 308 or 30-06 I could clearly read the 270 on the bottom😂😂 I got a pretty good laugh from that
I know. At least in America when we find a 270 case on the sidewalk we don't confuse it with a 308. Ignorant people act like its a bad thing that we still have guns. It just ensures that we'll keep our rights longer than the sheep who gave up their arms.
Lol, I like your 2A home security label jack. I don't advertise that my home is armed, but when a neighbor told me that having the shades open where someone could look inside and view my electronic system was dangerous, I lifted my shirt and patted my IWB and said that I like to call that "baiting the trap".
you can get some primers out by getting a skinnier nail into the hole between the casing interior and primer, putting the casing bottom into the hexagonal half of a well-fitting ratchet socket, and lightly hammering the nail, until it falls through the casing/socket use a flashlight to determine whether the casing has a single centered hole or two small holes to the primer at the bottom - the latter is tougher and probably needs drilling
Or you could put som gunpowder in the bullet. And the fuse is this little electric fuse from a basic lighter. Would work as good as the firecracker BUT it is more dangerous.
Oh yes the amount of spent casings on the sidewalk here in the USA allowed me to invest in a sweeping machine and ammunition reloading system. I have sent 3 kids to college now on just reloads from just 2 cities!! Wow !! When the shootings get slower and i finish the bullet proofing on my sweeper. I’m expanding to more cities!!! But for breakfast i want side walk syrup on my waffles!!
this reminds me of a tale I heard about some blokes on a building site in England who decided to make a cannon from steel gas pipe and some fittings, using a ball, and powder from a firework. For a lark they aimed it at the hut where the toilet was, while their mate was sat in there taking a dump. Their mate was shocked when he heard a loud BANG then a split second later the ball went through one wall, across his front, and out the shed again on the opposite side...my guess is if he was constipated to start with, he wasn't after that little episode. In Newcastle, I think was where it happened.
Also, that was a paper clip, not an alligator clip. I'm personally not against your videos but it seems like you spend zero time rehearsing what you want to say, although I do like the raw first time trying something and seeing what does and does not work.
Did you think before you posted that? Please, google "Alligator clip", both of you. I'm not trying to be confrontational, but it's so easy to educate yourself now-a-days.
No you don't. School shootings are extremely rare. Do some research on the number of schools and compare it to the number of real school shootings. No air guns, not after school incidents, not near the school incidents, not incidents in the summer when schools are closed, and not suicides on school grounds. Then compare real school shootings to other nations around the world and you'll see just how misinformed you are.
I made something similar but with a metal tube and I rolled a bigger firecracker into a paper and added some bbs into the front. I also made a sliding door on the bottom of the tube to load ammo. It kills birds with ease from 50 meters.
Another FYI - Airsoft ammo is correctly called 6mm Airsoft pellets. They are not BBs. Air rifle round shot cal. .177 is called BB because it corresponds to standard shot size "double B" which is, of course, written as BB just as "double ought" buckshot is written 00. Just trying to help.
I watched it twice and could not figure out where the hell the word "racist" came from. Then I combined it with some other comment, "too soon", to figure out it probably involves Black Lives Matter. I think? Holy shit. I'm Canadian too and despite not knowing Inventor719 I am sure it never occurred to him either. It was just a joke about the proliferation of guns in the US (common, everywhere with everyone) compared to Canada (very rare, only on gun ranges with licensed firearms users). I'll risk being political to say that US cops shoot first and ask questions later because the public is so well armed. The reason black people are shot much more often is pure racism. I have only seen a privately owned handgun once in my life, 40 years ago. Nobody I know has ever been shot at. I have never seen a cop take his/her gun out of it's holster. Canadians see the world differently. Of course you could be from France. Those French are so easily offended.
+Len Shambhala I like how you judge and call American police "racist". That is totally stereotypical. You don't even live in the United States so nobody wants to here your ignorance. Go back to your free healthcare.
+Liam's Herps Oops. I never meant to say American police (and therefore Americans in general) are racist. That is obviously not true. I meant to say that when deadly force is used on a black person in a situation where it would not have been used on a white person, racism and racial stereotypes seem to be the clear reason. One ignorant cop, not all of them. It shows up more in America simply because deadly force shows up more in America. Racism is everywhere. Canadians are drenched in American media. We see all the news and videos you see. I know enough to at least have a reasonable opinion. Free health care is excellent.
+David Snyder Okay... I'll bite. I wasn't going to, but 3 beers later... ;^) Stats (2010) say that non-hispanic whites make up 63.7% of the US. Non-hispanic blacks make up 12.2%. So, if police killings were proportional there would be 5.2 times as many whites killed by police. Not twice as many. I have no idea how to determine what percentage of the whites killed were Irish. People who bitch and complain about race when the circumstances clearly show the police acted in perfectly reasonable self-defence are obviously wrong, but that doesn't apply to when self-defence is obviously not reasonable (ie. "I can't breath"). Those are the only circumstances I am talking about. I don't want to mention names, but the people who are saying that blacks are somehow more dangerous are just pushing racial stereotypes *cough* Maine Governor Paul LePage *cough*.
I'm guessing you're talking about "you could find these on the side of the street" or whatever but I hear a bunch of Americans making jokes about Canadians and I do too. I think it's all out of good fun most of the time and that most people aren't offended. I'm not saying it was justified but we had it coming.
Get yourself a very thin needle and som3 thread. ,drop the needle in while looking from above . Should be easy to lower to and through the hole for the fuse, tie the thread to the fuse and gently guide it through, easy peasy 😎
I know this video is forever old, but if you took a wire tie off of a loaf of bread and took the outside covering off of it, you could push it through the hole that you made and wrap it around the tip of the fuse to get it to come through the hole much easier
For this project we'll need maple syrup, I live in the US I just got some at the grocery store but If you're in Canada you can probably find some on the sidewalk

I bet there are just bottles of maple syrup laying around on the streets of Canada.

you can get some primers out by getting a skinnier nail into the hole between the casing interior and primer, putting the casing bottom into the hexagonal half of a well-fitting ratchet socket, and lightly hammering the nail, until it falls through the casing/socket
use a flashlight to determine whether the casing has a single centered hole or two small holes to the primer at the bottom - the latter is tougher and probably needs drilling
That sidewalk joke though ;)

I'll bite. I wasn't going to, but 3 beers later... ;^)
Stats (2010) say that non-hispanic whites make up 63.7% of the US.
Pretty cool man
Depending where you live in America, finding bullet casings out on the street can be common
Even where I live in Colorado I find bullet shells
Fun firecrackers :)
I'm American and loved your joke ❤
Haha nice one! That was cool.
I actually found 10 .38 caliber live rounds at the end of my road a few days ago. so he's not entirely wrong. lol
Probably some kids shooting at signs if you live in a rural area.
if you live in the south you can find bullet casings on your front porch, in the woods, back yard, pretty much everywhere YEE YEE
I know this video is forever old, but if you took a wire tie off of a loaf of bread and took the outside covering off of it, you could push it through the hole that you made and wrap it around the tip of the fuse to get it to come through the hole much easier
