    I think Andreas can come across as a bit tense at times - I think he is not totally comfortable in front of an audience - and you can see he's not totally comfortable here. And that's one of the reasons I trust Andreas so much - because he is primarily an intellectual, a technologist, a computer scientist, a scholar - for Andreas it is knowledge that is of the paramount importance - and that's the kind of person I want to hear from. Andreas's book 'Mastering Bitcoin' is a classic - what a wonderful text - the art of technical writing - I got so much out of this book - it really set me on firm ground with understanding Bitcoin. Andreas contributes so massively much to this space.

      @Titan9731 7 āļ›āļĩāļ—āļĩāđˆāđāļĨāđ‰āļ§ +8

      Rycons Rycons Bitcoin Cash was created by a hardfork of Bitcoin. Everyone who had Bitcoin on August 1st got the same amount Bitcoin Cash.
      They created BCash because the transaction fees of Bitcoin got to high.
      They Increased the blocksize from 1mb to 4mb to reduce them. Now the point is that it isn’t the right way to reduce the fees. Bitcoin Core developers ( real Bitcoin) are working hard to implement the lightning network in to Bitcoin what would be a network on top of the actual Blockchain to create peer to peer payment channels to reduce the Blockchain traffic and the need of bigger blocks. Segregated witness (Segwit) was implemented during a softfork of Bitcoin so Bitcoin is compatible to lightning. Bitcoin Cash didn’t implement Segwit. Imagine Bitcoin would etablish more and more, we would need bigger and bigger blocks. Maybe we would need in future 1GB blocks to process all transactions. That’s 1GB every 10minutes, or 144Gb everyday that need to be captured in to the Blockchain. This could cause a centralized Blockchain and the experiment has failed.
      Sorry if I made spelling mistakes, English isn’t my native speak.
      Best Regards!

      Etherium is like the shitstain of the crypto currency world... 'SMART' contracts are actually dumb contracts that no one wants to get trapped into! The creators of Etherium already demonstrated that to their investors when they intentionally wrote a dumb contract for the dao, just so they could show how they can finagle money out of people by trapping them into a badly coded contract that they didn't realize was badly coded. BTC doesn't have a complex layer like that which can be programmed poorly intentionally... You can build another layer to do distributed code, and have the secure BTC layer on top! That's the right way to do something like that! Keep money as money, build other systems on top of it instead of building it INTO the system!

Similarly, skeptics once dismissed email, insisting it would never gain widespread use. Now, with Bitcoin, we see another revolutionary technology challenging conventional wisdom, echoing the historical pattern of skepticism preceding adoption and innovation.

    So eventually when cryptocurrency becomes the main currency of internet, will Online products have stable BTC price and fluctuating USD price? For example, right now BTC is going up every hour so it costs more USD to buy 1 BTC. Therefore, if you pay with BTC to buy an iphone, it may cost 0.1 BTC now but 0.09 BTC an hour later, while it stays $800 USD the entire time. So in the future the prices will be marked with BTC and people who pay with USD will have to pay with different amount of USD to buy a certain product.

    Money is a language ??? naaahh .. I would say it is a "amount" used as one part in a trade, and that amount is a subset of an individually controlled quantity that ...
    1. can only be reduced by the decision of the individual(s) who has access to that quantity
    2. that the reduction in that quantity can only occur if that exact "amount" is added to another quantity (whether or not that quantity is accessible by one or more individuals)

    While more backward countries denounce them. It seems crypto's ARE the future after all. They've just been recognized by the World masters of banking. I would recommend for EVERYONE to get on board , even micro bits will serve you well . It's time for the MIGHTY BITCOIN to reign supreme .

    • @Tenebrousable
      @Tenebrousable 7 āļ›āļĩāļ—āļĩāđˆāđāļĨāđ‰āļ§ +1

      In all seriousness, my earlier comment answers all your questions still. Food rot in days without power, had they physical cash or not, without power, bitcoin or not. And we VERY rarely have cash more than a day or two's spending. Debit cards don't work without power either. Blockchain will remain static on the miners computers, waiting for the power to go back on. Bitcoin won't go away before the internet is permanently destroyed and last backup of the hundreds of thousands copies are destroyed. Not before every last one.
      Bitcoin doesn't make our dependancy of electricity worse or better. Allright?

    Why did he have to say "money has no value itself"? That's correct but the moneyness comes from three uses (not merely a "language", which it isn't, actually9: store of value, payment medium and accounting unit. 3 uses (utility, which + priority = value) which give it value (and value is subjective, always).

    Its called 'Block chain' technology, It does have borders , Like China, Its not money. Its a digital item, That has a value linked to it via the stock market. It can be traded ,like anything else, you buy it, later you could sell the coin, If you make profit I am sure you are open to sales tax like with anything else you sell. People can take the coin as payment, same as they now have the option to accept rice or a table as payment for something instead of money. This is not money. What is ground breaking is 'block chain'. A shared record. So if one computer is hacked the other computers with the shared record will notice it is wrong. The block chain is encrypted which involves mining. You need very fast GPU's for mining. This is driving the GPU industry. This is also helping the artificial intelligence industry. Bitcoin is like digital gold because there is a max of 20,000,000 coins - As people spend more to buy the coins the value of the coin increases, Its not money. It will grow in value, improve in function with smart contracts which will really help the world do business. Money will always remain. Bitcoin is an item, but like any item it can be used to trade for goods, similar to how I can swap a table for coffee. Right now Bitcoin is increasing in value, so people mostly are trading bitcoin for money & not items. Money remains. The coins are digital items which can be sold or traded - A table is a real world item which can be sold or traded. Countries that outlaw crypto coins will be left behind in a weaker position. I think China banned the coin because they didnt want people to get rich, They need to maintain a cheap labour workforce to keep the worlds factories going. Im sure rich Chinese investor simply bought coins outside of China. It will return to legal in China after the price rises so the poor cannot benefit. Same for Morocco. The price is going up & down now related to happy and scare news stories related to wall street stock market. While the coin is on the way up. People will speculate so the price will rise & drop often. Long term for some coins its going to rise and Im sure some coins will decrease also. So many new jobs will be created linked to this market. Its great.

      It is money! Just wait until the paper money in your wallet doesn't come from a central bank either! It'll be paper money with a block chain, cryptographically secured so you can know it's legit! A 1 BTC Paper note :D The paper will be different than the crypto though in that it won't be transferable digitally, so you couldn't just swipe the 1BTC off the paper money, the person who has the paper note has the 1 BTC! :D
