    I see a lot of industrial robots moving around just at my day job, with all their infinite strength and precision, it's almost become commonplace, and I forget how amazing they are. Now I see this, which is made out of Legos, and I KNOW how fragile and imprecise Legos are, so this just blows my mind that you were able to get them to do this. Outstanding as always Akiyuki.

    Could you make a robot arm that can assemble a copy of itself? That would be truly amazing. No one has accomplished that yet.

    Mind blowing your project. I was wondering if you can share the instructions to build the robotic arm. Thanks.

    @Akiyuki, I am a 12 year old fan of your robots. I have recreated your robotic arm's wrist but I am unable to figure out what speed the other axis should be moving at to counteract the interference of the coaxial structure. Could you please help?

    Very Nice Improvement.
    I have built a 4 Axis palletising robot and am programming it now. Do you have any tips on programming with a coordinate system? (I see you use an Excel spread sheet @3.07)

      I saw your robot at bricksafe. It looks awesome! Is there a chance to upload some more pictures of the robot? I would like to rebuild it, cause i am a big fan of industrial robot arms :D

    I was able to rebuild your robot arm but I don't know if the cabels are customized or somewhere to buy, would be realy nice if you could reply

    • @profjos

      The cable is standard 'flat phone cable' (RJ12), you can buy them in any electronic shop near you. But the connectors are different. The phone cable uses tabs in the middle, the EV3 tabs at the right side. So you will need to order these tabs and a crimping device, I found them on a well known chinese website (bag of 50 connectors) and the crimping tool (make sure it can handle the right side tabs, use search terms like "Lego RJ12 crimping tool"). Made myselve many cables this way (as can be seen in my videos).

      @@profjos many many thanks
      for the help, I really appreciate that you took the time to answer my questions and explaining what cable it is, wich connectors and tools I need and where to get it.
      Again many thanks Mr Jos.

    Could this same assembly be used to make joints for a giant robot? If the axles connected to motors were instead connected to friction generating mechanisms, it looks like could be a shoulder or hip joint.

  • @shocktnc

    This *would* work really well if you didn't use a pressure fitting, but over time the axle will warp and this will become unusable.

    • @maxmocs5008
      @maxmocs5008 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Which Axel specifically?

    • @shocktnc
      @shocktnc 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@maxmocs5008 Sorry for late reply, the two axles I'm talking about connect the wrist with grey gears directly on the turn table. When I personally tried to recreate the connection I could find no way to achieve it without pressure pushing them away from the wrist.
