I have the YG Ascents on an all digital system and all I can tell you is WOW. YG doesn't get the coverage by the TH-cam crowd at shows but Jay has stumbled into a magic room. You owe it to yourself to check them out.
I love the approach with their live series, integrating as much as possible with the speaker. I do hope more companies will follow YG's lead in this direction. It takes away the pain of never knowing whether you achieved perfect synergy of your components with the speaker. A pain that is very real to me. I'd love to see YG live systems in Jay's lab. I wish YG live would have been available in Germany when I was shopping for my system. I don't think anyone in Germany carries these systems as of now.
My man J bringing a new fresh approach to audio shows. Keep doing your thing. You are earning your "flowers" with your hard work. Pa' lante mi hermano! 💪🏼🔥
Btw for those who aren’t aware, Duncan is 1/2 of the incredibly insightful Hifi Podcast for anyone looking for hours worth of awesome conversation all revolving around this hobby/industry. Cool to see him in action at his new gig at YG!
These guys have gotta be like damn this guy sells better than us. They were scared to say 245k but you spun it so well. Anyone searching this brand who stumbles into your vid is going to find a treasure mine. You really sold it for them.
I am glad you like YG Acoustics. I remember when you had a video of viewers guessing your new speakers, Wilson Audios XVX, I guessed you got YG's.....perhaps next ones?
Yep - I have only used active systems for thirty years. Not the cheapo monitors with class D amps stuffed inside the enclosure. Proper studio dsp, multiple dacs and dedicated amplifier for each channel. A passive crossover is the network is the work of the devil! Destroys even the best amp’s efforts to control the driver.
No-one (including audiophiles) with an understanding of electro-acoustics would ever choose a passive system where the power amps cannot control the drivers. You can still use Class A, Class A/B, Valves, Mosfets… Class D is used here to save space and cooling requirements.
Active Rocks but i will pass on Class D for ultra high end. Class D unfortunately cannot compete for best of the BEST in car audio and definitely not in Ultra High End against best Class A/AB offerings. That's REALITY from a person who has built and owned some of the most exotic top performance systems both car audio and ultra high end audio. Don't get me wrong the all active class D i am sure sounds great and is compact but not the best of what's possible. They are beautifully built no doubt.
Usually in systems like these, you have the option to use the Class D amp to power the woofers, and your choice of another amp (tube, Class A, or A/B) to power the mids & highs. That way you have the advantages of both, working in the ranges that are ideal.
@@dmark2639 I have fully active ultra high end systems and class D only would save space but is Class D Is Definitely a ultimate sound quality compromise and since I am not capable of that compromise it's best of best class A/AB only for me.
i like the way he says class their D sounds amazing, i beg to differ with the sound of any class D power available today, no matter if it activ or passive powered, mosfet or ganfet. Nor is speed and timing the only preserve of class D, because that is truly absolutely bollocks and is not just strictly true at all . Neither does any class D produce the best quality sound available today in audio, which ever way you try to spin and skin that class D cat . He is also talking out of his arse about that heavy metal drive bass unit, that drive unit is definitely not as linear as he says it is, because that is a definite porky pie lie, not without loads of dsp applied anyway it's not. Didn't you notice that that large heavy bass metal driver truly rang like a real bell 🤣. I really like the way manufactures truly put the spin and distort the real facts and not the real truths about their products 🤔 .
Fantastic speakers(Listened,I take off my cap), buying rich people who don't use them. A terrible problem, make a strong amplifier ???(I can also every fool)
I don't quite understand why you are hyping up full class D amplification so much. Yes, it's super efficient energy wise (hence cheap to get lots of wattage) but generally class D is the worst sounding (especially most fatiguing). So usually you trade in fatigue/sound quality vs power. Lots of power amps switch from class A, B or AB to D when higher wattage is needed. Why do the speakers need thousands of watts to run? What could be the case though is that having so much power allows for much more freedom in speaker design (e.g. filling the room since that makes the speakers more inefficient) outweighing the cons. But you made it sound like class D is the sound excellence which is simply not the case. In car audio it's used to get enough watts cheaply into the car audio system, not because it sounds better than lets say class A.
Million dollars worth of speakers and cant even wear i mic so we can what your saying smh. Ill still with Definitive Technology. I bet they give you a run for the money
Daum….🫨I normally don’t give a lot of time to the ultra high end…but these guys actually have something going on .👍 Great video and I hope that there’s more of this to come ☕️👍🍕

Hi, I told you you would be blown away by Yg Acoustics! Thank you anyway for your videos!

Jay, I 'preciate ya bruh. You getting to everything out there and showing us all the good stuff! Have fun and keep it coming.
Thanks !
I am really starting to like YG, one day.
Jay, it is 9-10PM on A Friday evening in Munich and your are still slugging away!! You deserve maximum success, as does YG.
Thanks 👍

Thanks man
Great content and reporting 👏🏽👏🏽
Hey it’s Duncan!!! Nice to see you man.

Duncan is awesome! Miss Darren, but absolutely love that Duncan is still doing it. Those dudes are wildly knowledgeable and YG is lucky to have him.
These guys have gotta be like damn this guy sells better than us. They were scared to say 245k but you spun it so well.

Their stuff always looks nice, sounds clean.
Thanks for that tour Jay!
What is the cabinet build material for the XX 3 live speakers, thanks, great video and commentary
I am glad you like YG Acoustics. I remember when you had a video of viewers guessing your new speakers, Wilson Audios XVX, I guessed you got YG's.....perhaps next ones?
Wow in a world where most people have to hold down 3 jobs to keep their kids from starving , YG has magnanimously given us hope for USD$245,000
Or maybe these speakers aren't marketed to people who needs hope
Fantastic...
Fantastic stuff! =) Love the designs
Great interview!
No idea why every major brand doesnt at least offer one fully active full range tower. Great stuff here.

what brand of cables are most often used in the presented systems?

amen!
What happened to YG? and why did he retire?
Is that Elon Musk talking with Jay ?
came here to say this 😂
He is Yoav Geva. The CEO/Founder.
(Y)oav (G)eva Acoustics…
@@benjaminanonsen1546 No, it is not. YG left the company 3 years ago. Google it.
@@deneszoltan2160 Right you are. 2017, shared, 2020 moves on. 2023, only the name is left. Still, he kinda looked like Yoav, at first glance. 😅
I believe that is Dr Matthew Webster the CEO and chief designer at YG
Cool
What was your favorite finish in the Peak series?

One issue with active speakers with amps in the cabinet is mechanical vibrations. Mechanical isolation needs to be fairly sophisticated.
Jay, you try German beer and keep up the good work
I did 😂
So this is a I have to be a multi millionare channel lol ..
You going to rob this guy? Waving those guns around LOL
those arms are triple D
Try a Sonja 3.2 in your room
Anybody making speakers with all drivers of the same material?
Yes, Yamaha NS 5000
I would never buy a bel Canto amplifiers so why would I buy I speakers that bel Canto amplifier sound 🤔
Once you hear properly set up active speakers you will not be able to tolerate listen to a passive crossover design again
245k....uh...
