I know I wasn't alone in really disliking the Sewald trade last year but Rojas has been an absolute stud and Canzone and even Bliss have been solid contributors.
Im in a similar boat, I was sad at first when we made the trade, but Rojas and Canzone have done nothing but make me happy we did. Those boys are ROCK SOLID. And Bliss aint no slouch either, he might push Polanco out of the Starting Job at 2B
Yeah, nobody really liked that trade. But in all reality, we have so much good pitching it was a good trade. Munoz is so much better than Paul and the Ms organization clearly saw that before we all did.
I liked the trade, although I did hate to see Sewald go because I absolutely love his energy. But Rojas has been great, Canzone has some things to work on but will probably turn out to be really good, and I am *really* high on Bliss. I think that trade is one of those really nice "works out great for both teams" deals.
Great series win. It was a weird game for Kirby walking 2 batters, but he got 6 innings, and the offense did more than enough to win it even with Bazardo getting knocked around.
Cal Raleigh is a underrated hitter i like his approach he doesn't chase pitches he just stays back on pitches and works counts. he's not afraid to go after the first pitch too and knock it.
I know he's on till 2027 but I really hope extension talks are in the works. He's a great catcher and an amazing bat that can blast switch. He's very valuable to this team and we would not have been as good as we have the past 3 years without him imo.
@@PuppetMa5teR I suspect the Ms would love to extend him, but given that his agent is Scott Boras, that's pretty unlikely. Boras is notorious for insisting that his clients test free agency for big paydays, and a catcher who is defensively elite, manages his pitchers extremely well, and hit bombs is potentially a big money contract. I badly want him to spend his entire career in Seattle, but if he does, the long-term deal probably won't come until 2027.
Overall really well played game by the Ms. Small ball hitting, capitalizing with runners in scoring position, clutch homers and amazing pitching. This is exactly what this team needs to do; get out in front early and they are lights out!
So awesome to get a series win against the team chasing us in the standings. It is exactly what we needed to do to cushion our lead even more. Now if they can go out tomorrow and complete the sweep, that would be even better :D
WHEW that was terrifying how close it got! Big win though, just find myself staring at those standings with a smile on my face. OUR Mariners with a sizeable division lead, so proud of them right now and there's still lots of room for improvement.
I love that he didn't even really have to dive for it. The ball was just the exact distance from him that he just had to kinda flop down and reach out.
Man, Bazardo needs to go. He's had plenty of time to get right, but continues to give up runs. Made this game way look and feel way closer than it really was. The Mariners looked great tonight, and scored runs steady throughout the game. It's nice to see the bats and the offense coming alive finally. They've been putting up a lot of runs lately. Hope it keeps up!
Mariners need to either DFA or send Bazardo down to the minors. He has the worst ERA in the Bullpen rn by a lot. everyone in the bullpen has a sub 5 ERA and he currently has a 8.68 ERA. Bring Brett de Geus back, who has a 2.70 ERA, back please
I don't understand why we brought him up again. Did we really not have anyone better? Bazardo really hasn't shown (to me) that he can be trusted or be effective.
@@joebahn1652if this is the long game, it would def make sense. mariners do need a bat but are also in a situation where they dont need to rush things, especially since the best targets right now command a steep price and might be open to relaxing their demands by the deadline.

Mariners pitching is scary good and consistently so. The question with them has always been hitting. If they keep hitting like this, no one is catching them and this is from an Astros fan!
The most Mariners thing imaginable is taking an ace like Eovaldi out behind the woodshed and knocking him out of the game after three innings, and then getting mowed down for a couple innings by a scrub with a 15.00 ERA and 3.3 WHIP.
Well, until the 9th it was probably one of the best games the M's had played in June. M's hitters played a game of feast or famine - 8 BB's & 2 HR's vs 14K's and only 7 hits. Still, a good win & series is clinched - go for the sweep! Go M's!

14 more strikeouts. They're on pace for 1,626 strikeouts. That'll set a franchise record which the made last year with 1,603. If they try real, real hard, then they'll break the Twins overall record also set last year with 1,654. Go Ms!
