As m’s fan we were very fortunate to win this game they have to play better tomorrow. It felt like we lost this one but somehow won. M’s have to hit better tomorrow.
Yes, the Mariners won't be happy about this one in the locker room but a win is a win. They'll need to play better if they want to take this series though, can't rely on the Twins continuing to make errors
yeah the Twins made a few very critical errors and had a lot of hard hit balls that were unlucky and hit straight to our defenders

Why can't we just be HAPPY that we beat a team that is 8 games above .500, and we were previously 1-3 against them?! I swear these fair weather fans think it's only a good win if we win by more than 5 runs no matter how good the other team is
@@3SailorMartin Chill mate. I'm happy we won, I'm just acknowledging that it wasn't exactly our own stellar performance that won us the game. That in this particular case it was more the Twin's game to lose. Hope we get a series win. I'd be thrilled with taking 2 out of 3 here and against Baltimore

I remember when Cal Raleigh played his first game in the bigs as a Mariner. He got a double and took on second base with a look on his face that said, is this real? He's been the goat ever since.

Undefeated in the city connect jerseys this year. This team thrives off the energy of the crowd. Playing in a few awful places like Cleveland, Miami, and Tampa doesn't do it. The guys need a high level of energy in the ballpark even if it's on the road. Great clutch win tonight.
The Mariners have a perfect combination of pitching and hitting right now. But need a slugger to finish the game for the post season.

A defensive showcase by the Mariners, and a defensive clown show by the Twins. That's where the game was won.
Yep.... most people don't understand how the Mariners win so many games. Because, on average, we don't score a lot of runs. And 90% of the fans are just in love with offense.
But what the Mariners try to do is allow a team to score 3-runs and under per game. This is like a preasure cooker, that builds and builds and builds. Until their opponents make mistakes. And that's exactly what happened in this game.
The Mariners are accustomed to this level of preasure. While their opponents are not. This is the advantage that the Mariners have over most of their opponents.

Defense a biggie for me and The Twins defense has been below average all year. Correa and Buxton pretty descent fielders but the rest need work 😩.
@@jamesnash6101Really good point. The only issue I have is that despite being used to the pressure, they still don't produce offensively. They have to rely on something going their way. If it doesn't, they still lose 2-1, 3-2, 4-3, etc. If they could just hit around league average, they'd be truly unstoppable.
@@jamesnash6101we have such an amazing starting rotation but our bats are so bad we make every starting rotation look just as good.

How many times is Julio going to get picked off at first. This is the third time I've seen it happen this year. Mind you, I only watch these highlights because I live in Japan. I haven't seen every game this year. Dude needs to wake up.

@@sbeers88 the call was overturned not made in the field at the time of the play. Julio hand was on the the base before the tag was applied.

Julio is a disappointment either he has some kind of deficiency on seeing a ball that is truly out of the zone or he needs his own batting coach because he keeps swinging at the same pitch that is getting him out !

I was there as well. Weirdest nail biter win I've experienced in person. Thought the back to back bunts were gonna do it, then end on the worlds weakest walk off of all time. Was super fun to be a part of though.

@@3SailorMartin That may be true but that is all he is contributing right now. To get picked off when he finally gets on base is ridiculous. The M's offense doesn't have the luxury of being able to throw away base runners.

This game was fortunate for Seattle. The twins were not fooled by their pitchers got too many atom hits.

It's called chaosball for a reason and personally I was more freaked out when Thornton had to take over for Munoz on Wednesday with the bases loaded and no outs then I was at ANY time during today's game. Thornton is completely unpredictable and I was sure he would lose us the game but in THAT game we got lucky and they only scored one run in exchange for an out.
I'll agree that the error that Raley scored on was timely but taking advantage of the other team's mistakes (be they pitches that don't go where the pitcher wanted them or errors) is what any good team does and a run is a run. The last one wasn't even considered an error just a fielder's choice and JP was nearly home before the pitcher threw the ball anyway so probably would have beat out the throw.
One thing I think we should do though is when our relievers are doing a good job maybe let them pitch more than one inning. Stop using 4 or more pitchers a game when a reliever goes 1-2-3 and a minimum of pitches
Either locker room would've been hilarious honestly, I'm sure the Mariners weren't exactly happy with how they won either

Vasquez is awful 😱. He made two errors that lost them this game. First baseman was average at best and no offense but Duran won’t be getting a Cy Young anytime soon for fielding. I saw four errors and two by the catcher. You’ve got to go out after the season is over and get yourself a catcher DAYUMMMM 🤬. I mentioned before the fielding was lacking but tonight was really special 😆.

Because the ball was cought-up in the corner of right field. And then the right fielder had to make a perfect throw from that corner to home plate. Exsteamly hard to do.
I don't know of many RF's that could have made that throw.

If it wasn't for errant throws on pickoff attempts by Mariners relievers recently, the Mariners would be in the top 15 in defense after being near the bottom most of the year. Time to crack the top 15 in D and stay there.

The Mariners played one of their best games that I have seen. But..... There were three mistakes. Rodríguez tagged out at 1st.
Polanco did not make plays on two balls hit by him at second base. He's been out with an injury, not sure if he's at 100%. Also, after being traded to Seattle, there were reports that he's injury prone. If Bliss was there, he would have made those plays.

I think the Mariners come to play there home games and send the Tacoma Rainier's to play on the road pitching at home is almost lights out and the offense comes to life at least a little bit and on the road neither the pitching or the offense can play they're way out of a wet paper bag

What the heck is the problem with Julio? He’s got some kind of mental block at the plate. It’s bizarre. I know he’s going to eventually snap out of it but jeez-it’s essentially been going on all season. Get the guy a shrink. I truly feel bad for him.
That's what happens when a 1st baseman takes his eye off the ball because he was afraid of it bouncing into his face. That's a little league mistake Carlos. It's one thing if a pitch is flying for your head but a ball bouncing a foot in front of your glove to prevent a run and you flinch away like a scared girl. 😂 First thing they teach in T-ball is don't be afraid to catch the ball, especially when your the first baseman you gotta watch that ball all the way into your glove, just like watching the ball hit the bat. If Mariners keep hitting grounders, that might be enough to win this series if Carlos is at first base, afraid of the ball 😂

The Mariners didn't win this game, the Twins lost it. You can't have essentially three errors and expect to win. All the M's runs came off of BS. What are the mitches even doing in the line up still? Garver has had a decent run lately, but a DH hitting .178? Come on M's.

Mariners will be in the postseason but nearly 0% of winning the World Series. Such a bad offense.
Don’t be so sure about them making the playoffs. With how much better the AL East and AL Central are this year than the AL West, the odds heavily favor only 1 AL West team making the playoffs at this point (the division winner obviously). The runner up is almost certain to not have a good enough record to get in as a WC this season, and Seattle doesn’t exactly have a huge lead over the Astros at the moment. Not even an insurmountable lead over the Ranger either. If either one of those teams manages to turn things around quickly at some point and get red hot for any decent stretch, they could quickly overtake Seattle in the division standings.
Polanco, Haniger, France, and Garver need to get yard sold for anything the Ms can get, immediately. Worthless across the board. But they won't. Stanton will stand back and watch until it's too late, the lead in the division gone, and he'll again justify not spending the money because the team is flagging. So tired of this club's satisfaction with mediocrity.
