How wonderful. You guys, this is what life is about. Giving as much as possible to those who have nothing. The children always astound me. They are so happy, so joyous, in such hard life circumstances. That is called being unaffected by material things. They are living life, in the moment, and look how much happier they are for it.

It’s likely that this clinic is funded or partially funded by church’s. God teaches to go out, help, and love on others. He also teaches us to teach the Gospel to other and let them know about Jesus. This might be the only time some even hears about the Lord and what he’s done for us. They can decide to come back when the church is there or they may not. I understand your reluctance but there is a view that I haven't seen mentioned yet. I've done medical mission trips in several countries and I know that in order to pull this off well, the foreigners need to partner with local leaders. To me the question is, do the local leaders want a preacher to be there? If so, we should respect that. I'm against forcing my beliefs onto other people, but oftentimes this is what they want. The vast majority of Kenyans are considered Christians so this is probably part of their culture anyway. These missions should be locally led and the Americans should be there to help out and support.
If so-called first word countries paid fair market prices for the goods that are extracted from these countries (gems and minerals used in phones and other technology, metals, labor in making garments, etc.) then the need for foreign aid could be greatly reduced. But of course that would mean that we wouldn't be able to buy as much as prices would increase. If we spread the wealth around the world, then we could all live modestly comfortable lives.

This is such a late comment you posted this blog forever ago but I’m getting through your channel out of order! Kara did you ever figure out the sick child’s name or what was wrong? I hate seeing children in pain makes me feel sick and he was such a little cutie 💕
What a great stop you had in Kenya. I was there, + Tanzania in '05, when I visited Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti, which goes across the border into Kenya, where it becomes Masai Mara.
I really enjoy watching yalls videos but I don’t know as an American who has grown up hearing about the religious tourism of “saving” the native people in a certain area with Jesus, it really upset me to watch this video. I have been going back and watching all of your videos from the start, and while I don’t “fangirl” over public figured like that, I had a lot of respect for your lifestyle and how you were able to make this a reality. However, I looked up this organization you worked with, and the Church Missions Network website lists the “number of churches placed” and the “number of people who professed the faith” BEFORE listing any statistics about their medical care. It even says that the goal is to make people “realize the gospel” through “short term missions” etc. It may not be how it was represented in your video, but this line of thinking is incredibly harmful and itself primitive in thinking that spreading the word of Christianity is saving these people. It’s misleading and I was very upset to see people I looked up to promote this in such a blinded way. I hope that, as with much of the growth you’ve experienced as you’ve traveled, this is something you have now realized is not actually a fair way to “give back” to these communities and you have walked away from this kind of outreach. If you see this comment, I’d love for you two to make a video/FAQ/instagram story addressing your views that have changed as you’ve continued to travel. Have a nice day :)
This might literally be the most ignorant comment I have ever seen on TH-cam. People have the right to do good works in the name of whoever they want. They don't owe you an explanation, period. Regardless of what your views are, it is precisely the message of Jesus that leads many people like Kara and Nate to take care of their fellow peoples in other parts of the world.
They are Christian missionaries posing as clinics and other things to convert people to Christianity in poor countries and bankrolled by religious outfits. The clinic had just basic over the counter medication.
@@tiyahisrael The Christian missionaries from the United States such as the one on this video export all the failed ideas from the US to socially re-engineer the society to the Christian ways. Of course this requires conversion efforts and then selling the poor Africans they convert with homophobia and other 16th century social policies that they failed to push through in the US. You dig slightly deeper than the clinic they showed on the video, there is a whole Pandora’s box they don’t want anyone to know. But basically the American Christian missionaries are trying hard to reshape social policies to align with the 16th century Christian ideas because they can’t sell it in developed countries. They hit up mostly Africa and South Asia with the most vulnerable populations.
@@MuhammadIamhardBrucelee Not really, I know many missionaries who have given up everything to serve the poor, the forgotten and unwanted. Steve and Jen Butwill were stateside for a beeak just as Ebola was raging in Liberia and though many told them to wait it out in the states, they went back in the middle of the epidemic. They couldn't abandon their family. Po River Clinic needed them more than ever so they went.
@@MuhammadIamhardBrucelee they had many prescription medications.. all the antibiotics, prednisone, eye medications, etc listed on the paper he had all require prescriptions. There have been plenty of times where I have gone to a clinic here in America only to be “prescribed” and over the counter NSAID or cream. You may not agree with their beliefs but you shouldn’t undermine the medical work that they are doing. These are still licensed doctors.
This is good work but I would hope that the patients had a choice when it came to the pastor, to sit there with Mr Pastor while waiting for the prescription at the pharmacy, or to sit elsewhere. Please tell me that there was a choice! Thanks. I notice that the only seating provided (for patients), is at Mr Pastor. The patients stand in line at all other stations, and it's only at the Pastor they have a chance to sit down, otherwise it's standing in line. Is this by accident or design?
Doing what you two are doing is very Christian and follows the steps of Jesus himself BUT having a pastor trying to recruit destitute people after giving medical care as if it were a condition to receiving treatment is downright demonic. Its manipulation at its highest level. Helping people should not be with a condition that they follow Christ and go to a church...Jesus would never accept that line of thinking
They just invite people to the new church. INVITE. Willingly. No one is forcing anyone. I think you should rewatch that part of the video, you obviously got it all wrong. They are doing more for this people than you are right now typing crap on your computer...
As a Kenyan and as a non christian i find this really disturbing..without a doubt they're doing an amazing humanitarian work and we need more humans like them, but including evangelism in disguise while they treat the sick and the poor is just sad. Far more shocking the next vlog a person is eye tested by reading a bible. You can clearly see a mosque from one of the villages. Why not let your actions speak louder than your words.
ositofreitas, I agree with you in part--it's a great thing they're doing. However, if you go back and re-watch the video, the pastor was the last stop. The patients had already received the medicine, and the team wasn't planning on taking it back--no conditions involved here. The pastor was sharing, not forcing. Look at it this way. If you had the cure for cancer, would you keep it a secret, or share it? Jesus is far better than a cure for cancer. I hope this helps.
I’m struggling with this because I love watching Kara and Nate but this whole listen to me talk about god before you can get your medicine doesn’t sit right with me. It’s like care with a catch and considering a large percentage of Africa’s population is Christian who are you trying to convert? Obviously we don’t see it here but are they bullied into being “saved”? I admire people who give up part of their lives to go to foreign countries and hand out medicines but it shouldn’t come with a side order of religion.
I doubt they are being bullied to be saved... more than likely their medication is being filled which takes time. So while they wait they have the pastor there to tell them of Jesus and what he has done for all of us and about the church that is to be built there. I’m sure if they asked to not talk to him that would be respected. And, if they want to, they might come to the church when it’s there to learn more.
@@mernany A lot of aid in Africa is tied to attending religious education or prayer. If you can’t afford to feed or educate your children you would put up with listening to whatever even if you don’t believe. If you are openly of different faith you aren’t welcome to attend or benefit from the free services.
Kara and Nate showed so many Buddhist temples and they visited so many. Nate visited a Hindu cremation with so much respect and care for the culture. This time, they are doing some good work through a christian organization. Don’t see any problems........
Don’t get me wrong this is a good thing being done but it’s a shame that the people that come to the clinic have to be subjected to “Jesus preaching”. Why? Why can’t they just be helped without being preached to?
Considering Kara and Nate showed other religious beliefs on here with the utmost respect, I don't see any harm in carrying Christianity with them either. Or is it just Christianity you have a problem with?
AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHH TO BE A MEDICAL STDN AND SEE EVERYONE GATHER AROUND LIKE THEY ALL DID? KNOW I KNOW I'M IN THE RIGHT MEDICAL FIELD NO DOUGHT??????
I am really shaken by the negative/hostile comments. My husband and children are the only Christian in my large extended family. My children, my husband and I have done a lot of missions. I wasn't prepared to see comments saying their work was "demonic" and "manipulation" Those are really intense judgements. I know my extended family thinks Christians are not that intelligent but I really hope that they wouldn't see what we do as evil. Painful.

People have a right to speak however they choose about whatever religion they choose. It's in the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States. Keep in mind... even though they travel all over the world, they're still Americans. Before asking someone to conform to your standards, if you don't like their videos, move on to ones that are limited to your own beliefs.
If you don’t like it don’t watch. You wouldn’t have a problem with them talking about Islam so why this? It’s because they’re Christian and we are told to be silent while you people can scream it in the streets with no problem.

My favorite K&N videos ♥
Awesome guys!
African people always happy despite the conditions
Wonderful people.
I am never quite sure how I feel about people being a tourist attraction.
This isn't a tourist attraction. They're volunteering their abled bodies and manpower at this clinic and they vlogged it, I assume, for awareness. The more people that know, the more people that can help.
Awesome guys ...
awesome!!! I love your vlog!!!
Great job 👏👍!!
I hope get to answer this.
This looks so rewarding, would you come and do this again? I know you have your van and touring America with it. But would you both not come back and do this again with your mum? 💛
That's so ncie y'all!! A great way to follow our Lord's steps :)
So amazing you had this opportunity! Couldn’t help tearing up for these sweets children..thankful God has his hands and feet in these parts of the world .
i cried. so sweet
I don't care about all of the issues regarding christianity conversion here. These people especially the children are so sweet and happy and that's all that matters
This is such a late comment you posted this blog forever ago but I’m getting through your channel out of order! Kara did you ever figure out the sick child’s name or what was wrong? I hate seeing children in pain makes me feel sick and he was such a little cutie 💕
Those kids are so cute but oh lord the the pink on the school uniform is bright
love your videos and the kids
I started crying when the kids were chasing the vans ??
Excellent video
I would like to do a medical mission trip..
Public figures*
This might literally be the most ignorant comment I have ever seen on TH-cam. People have the right to do good works in the name of whoever they want. They don't owe you an explanation, period. Regardless of what your views are, it is precisely the message of Jesus that leads many people like Kara and Nate to take care of their fellow peoples in other parts of the world.
You say #141. My screen says 136 and I’ve watched from the start. Where are the missing four?
Same here idk which ones I've missed
What is CMN? Can you post a link to use for donations?
Who funds these clinics
They are Christian missionaries posing as clinics and other things to convert people to Christianity in poor countries and bankrolled by religious outfits. The clinic had just basic over the counter medication.
@@MuhammadIamhardBrucelee oh wow, makes sense now..they never stop colonizing with their age old colonial methods🤦🏽♀️
U guys rock just sayin :)
That is very true...
I would suggest the documentary God loves Uganda if you are passionate about this subject.
👍🏻
You guys are fucking awesome
You can give all things in the world, but i just find it very difficult to believe in trinity or to believe that yesus is god
Tell them about Jesus.....😬
AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHH TO BE A MEDICAL STDN AND SEE EVERYONE GATHER AROUND LIKE THEY ALL DID? KNOW I KNOW I'M IN THE RIGHT MEDICAL FIELD NO DOUGHT??????
0.35 Giant coke bottle?
I am really shaken by the negative/hostile comments. My husband and children are the only Christian in my large extended family. My children, my husband and I have done a lot of missions. I wasn't prepared to see comments saying their work was "demonic" and "manipulation" Those are really intense judgements. I know my extended family thinks Christians are not that intelligent but I really hope that they wouldn't see what we do as evil. Painful.
Read the other comments in this vlog educating you in the issue. Missions are indoctrination.
@@oliviafriaslopez209 Missions are sharing our faith and using our freedom of speech. We want others to know the only Way, the only Truth, and the only Life. I pray you will too. God bless.
CNN's Kara - a new career!
Nachito sanz CNN wouldn’t hire her; she doesn’t lie.
FOX News would be better. CNN is cancer!
Fox news would be better they don't lie
I think people of religious faiths are following your vlogs so would appreciate if religion could be kept aside
If they were Muslim or spreading the word of atheism would you be asking them that? Let people express what they feel is right. If you don't like it don't watch.
just enjoy the vlogs for what they are people helping people
As a Jew, I have no problem with people of other faiths. Why such stupid remarks? Did they ask anybody to join their faith? I don't even know what they believe, neither do I care.
Love Nate and Kara but idk this video gives me white savior vibes
This is amazing. I am so proud of you guys for trying to make a difference around the world and help those less fortunate throughout your journey. It is my dream to do something like this and be able to help out. I didn’t think it’d be possible to like you guys even more now!!! Can’t wait to watch the rest of your adventure at the clinic :)
