Part of the magic of AC2 relies on the somewhat old graphics. A photorealistic remake would only substract the essence from AC2. I think a remaster would be ideal (same textures but in higher resolution, improved shadows and quality of life features, even ray tracing, etc.).

My favourite place in AC2 when I was a kid. Now it’s Tuscany. I love the countryside in AC2.
Just imagine if Ubisoft completely remade this game for PS5, SeriesX/S how beautiful it would be. I still hope they'll do that at some point.

Ubisoft CEO confirms there are now multiple remakes coming so hopefully this game one of them
