    All these videos dealing with touching and exposing the inverter should explain and clearly point out how you have to disconnect the battery and plug from the hybrid battery as well in the rear as this can hurt someone thinking it’s just start at the front and disregard the power

    Thanks for the tip at the end. Also, make sure to let people know to disconnect the 12v battery in the trunk and for them to take out the 201.6v HV battery service connect on the left hand side of the battery in the trunk. It is orange and needs to be slid and then a lever is pulled out and the connect is freed. Better to use high voltage protective gloves when opening the Inverter in case of residual voltage. Check ends of orange cables for voltage with a high voltage setting on voltmeter to make sure of no voltage!

    Thanks for making this video!! I will be replacing my ABS pump tomorrow morning 5AM, before the heatwave gets cooking. I wouldnt have tackled it if you didnt show it could be done without draining all that coolant.
    I appreciate that you took the time to do a good narration, and I especially appreciate that you mounted the camera so it shows a steady, clear view. All those other videos with handheld, or even worse, headworn GoPro's, are often annoying, and sometimes dizzying and nauseating to watch. You've got a great set of skills, not only knowing about autos, but also a pretty sense of what makes a good video. Respect to you.

    BEFORE starting this or any job on a prius you FIRST need to disconnect the orange service plug And 12v battery in the trunk so you don't die

    Also, doing this for a second time and so far so good…much less hassle than draining the coolant

    Great video and amazing you summed it up in 6 minutes. One tip: WEAR GLOVES! Chemicals enter your system stupid fast through skin. You look like youre in your 20s. I'm about to be 36 and i already regret some things in my 20's. I'm sure it gets worse as we get older. Great video, be safe, God bless

    You really need a disclaimer on here about disabling the 200V battery since you're opening the inverter.

    With the threads on most aluminum or whatever mating, I like to set the thread surfaces so mate, then unscrew until seats in most and then start to screw in. Mainly is a way I learned so to not tear up plastic threads, though is habit now for me over the years. Thanks for sharing.

    I will probably get a prius 2007 EU model. Would you say this failure is common or its a rare occurrence? Should I be worried it will eventually fail? Car has 142,000 miles.
    Also is there a way to test for it before buying the car and then learning it has this problem? How can I tell if its problematic?

    You can tie the brake lines off to the side . 30 seconds I had mine out. Lift and twist.
    5 min back in. The top line got stuck behind it.

    Carhub,i have a question for you. I have a 2005 toyota prius hybrid that i had a code for low pressure on the accumulator and a buzzer was going off constantly. Plus abs lights. I got a used one online and used your video to replace it and everything seemed to go well until when we had it together it started to rain so we packed up for the day. The windscreen wipers and the cover for them weren't on yet so we put absorption pads in for the water and finished the next day. When wr went to start the car it started shaking violently. We checked and the plugs wrre wet with water and oil so i assumed it was misfiring. We cleaned and dried them but it made no difference. Plus the triangle of death came on. Now the car doesn't go into gear. Although the first two timr it did go into gear it banged really bad. Did we do something wrong? I've been trying to find any help online or videos that might explain what the problem is? Today I also got a code c1259

    • @carhub2178
      @carhub2178  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Make sure your hybrid plug is slid all the way in and try and clear the codes and see what comes back on

    • @user-ei9vu9nc9u
      @user-ei9vu9nc9u 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      We had to charge the 12v battery. It was low and we charged it for a day. The hybrid plug was in properly and the scanner said that the hybrid battery cells were all around 14. But it doesn't say if anything was wrong with any of them? We cleared the codes again and the triangle of death was off. But all the other ones were on.the brake, cel,maintenance light, abs,vsc,and the one with the explanation mark in it. Then we went to try and put it in gear and it banged and then the triangle of death came on. I saw a video where you put a paper clip in the diagnostic connector and it's supposed to reset the lights? Does that really work?

    Late comment, but im doing this repair now. Did you bleed or empty the brake lines BEFORE doing this repair? Apparently proper toyota procedure for this repair is to release the pressure from the accumulator before taking everything apart with a special toyota techstream command/procedure. I didnt really notice a ton of brake fluid fly out so im assumin you emptied most of the brake fluid? Idk. Id really rather not have to sort of bleed the brakes twice essentially, before and after.
    I do have cracked toyota techstream though. And how did the bleeding and everything go after the video? Did you use dealer software, bleed it somewhat to be able to drive it to dealer, or did it yourself?

    Hello sir i need your help / advice
    I have a 2010 prius 1.5 it's got the abs lights on with the code - c1256 accumulator low pressure.
    My mechanic told me we have to replace the ABS pump. We replaced 5 Abs pump but still the lights doesn't go off and i was told to again replace the ABS pump since its bad again.
    I am confused sir how can five ABS pumps be bad.
    Any advice sir of what can be the issues!!
    Does the ABS pump have a number or something. Or what could be the issue?
    Thanks

      @@alennovak8446 I'd love to hear how your repair attempt went. These typically fail because the nitrogen resorvoir inside the accumulator doesn't hold pressure like it should anymore. It's not usually a problem with the pump motor itself. But still, I'd love to hear how it went for you.

    • @carhub2178

      Is it cross threaded on there? If so you’ll have to re thread the hole and if it’s not cross threaded then you just need to bend the brake line a little to where it just sits on top freely and start it by finger
