I have no problem if you eat dirt my issue is when you call the ambulance I then have to pay for your experiments. Same for smokers and plastic surgery addicts. I wouldn't care about your choices if you weren't clogging up hospital beds when my grandma needed it because of her osteoporosis.
Although you’re right about “everyone worries too much about every little thing.” it’s the accumulation of the all the little things that compounds into bigger something’s. Makeup, cleaning agents, processed foods, electro magnetic pulses, ie phones, computers, power plants, cell tower, water, fertilizer, bunker fuels ie Chemtrails, wood clues, furniture glues, stuff they treat furniture with, the list could go on and on about harmful substances we ingest and inhale everyday. So I agree we shouldn’t worry, but I suggest we become more proactive in eliminating toxins as much as we can, by purchasing cleaner products, and made in the USA, that are non chemical, like cleaning, and personal care products and so much more. So it’s not the little stuff, it’s the little stuff compounded.
I wouldn’t blame you for taking an extra day off! I recently cut my work hours from 40 to 32 & it has been a game changer for my life. We all need time to just LIVE & enjoy the fruits of our labor.😊
You should have everyone send in their horse barn pictures….with the landscaping ideas for the highlights channel. So excited to see what you do with the new property.
Good idea. You’re gonna want to research the desirable features of a working horse barn anyway . You could put out a request for people’s suggestions of what features they like in their barns and what they would change when you ask for photo submissions.
New winter video ideas: 1. Take us through your garden planning process, including any drawings 2. The planning process for the new area, including any drawings 3. Both of you just talking through ideas for the new area or any existing areas where you’re making changes. I thoroughly enjoy how you both get on bunny trails during recaps with discussing ideas.
Granny would set out a dish pan to catch fresh snow for snow cream. How is snow anymore contaminated than water from the faucet delivered thru old pipes. Snow cream is a fond memory, little kid watching out the window to make sure snow bowl was filling up!!!
Don't be afraid to show the snow falls you are getting, here in Australia we are in the middle of summer heatwaves eg 40 + C degrees, therefore seeing your snow is wonderful. Thanks for your videos.❤
Having watched you faithfully for quite a while now, I would never ask why Aaron isn’t shoveling the snow. I just thought. ‘I wonder what Aaron’s up to today- maybe watching the kids”. I know he never shuns work.
“Strong independent woman”! Love it! Laura drives a forklift like a pro - she I think should be using Aaron’s tractor. Also how many women have an auger named after them!!!
Laura , When it’s very cold outside, we would love to see you bake something in the kitchen or I would actually like to see the end project of Samantha’s room , the Wallpaper etc , I bet it’s adorable ❣️
I have an alternative solution for fungus gnats! I struggled with a terrible infestation for almost a year trying everything from sand, neem oil, mosquito bits, to sticky traps. I couldn't afford the gnatrol bucket either. But my local garden center suggested watering my plants with a 1:3 hydrogen peroxide(3%) to water ratio. It worked! I let my plants dry out, watered them with the hydrogen peroxide solution along with the sticky traps for the adults and within 3 weeks they were almost gone. I did alternate waterings between the hydrogen peroxide solution and regular water or fertilizer depending on the plants requirements. But after 2 months they were completely gone (it's been 4 months now and they are still gone)! And the best part is hydrogen peroxide is easily accessible and affordable!
I agree it worked for me but I used on some ivy plants that went belly up afterwards! Not sure if that is what killed them but just wanted to warn you that it happened to me!
I bought a small amount of gnatrol from Gardener’s Workshop, last year. Worked great! But they are not carrying it this year. I have fungus gnats multiplying again, so I bought a small bag on eBay… I hope it works. I mixed some up yesterday, and used it. It had to be shaken up continually, to keep it from settling into a brown sludge at the bottom. I don’t remember that happening last year. Hmm. Anybody have experience with this?
Your chickens in their Chateaux and the cats in their condo. Since you've started heating the greenhouse, Russell probably thought, "They finally got my house done!" All the sunlight they could want and the warmth. Russell with a camera would be a hoot! I still can't forget him sliding down the greenhouse wall in the background.😂
I do not put a collar on my dog, my doxie ,when she is just patrolling the yard . I would be so worried she would get caught in a bush. I know she can't get out of the yard and she doesn't let anyone get close to the yard without letting us knowso we feel pretty safe. And she is safe.
Such adorable children you have. It might be time to have the children's garden again, you definitely have enough garden area so Samantha could enjoy this experience as Benjamin loved his o much. We also enjoyed it so much.
Would love to see more educational videos during the winter. And more viewer garden videos.....those are so much fun! Love when those are different topics....shade, sun, mixed borders, hardscape, lighting, water features, hillsides, seasonal color....etc.
I know! I like to watch her “work” like shoveling, etc. I like watching her clean an area before and after a project. For instance, she’ll wash area the window boxes and use the leaf blower. It helps me to stay neat too. 🌸
Regarding contaminated snow, I have to chuckle there’s so much contamination in our foods, water and air and it’s been there longer than we’ve been alive!!! Chill people take the precautions that are good for you and live and let live🙏🏻🙏🏻🥰🥰
Use Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk with the snow... ( instead of the milk and sugar) YUM! Some environmental bits are good for the immune system.... lol
Sweet snow memories... When I was a child in St.Louis, everyone in our neighborhood had coal furnaces. My dad ( former farmer) would go out and scrape the coal soot off the snow to make snow cream. Lol. We're still ok.
I grew up in the city many years before all the air control rules, across the street from two factories. My mom made snowcream, I'm still living to tell you about how delicious it was 😊
Laura & Aaron keep on doing what you are doing, it works. I love all the interesting information even if I can't do it myself b/c of my zone. It's fun watching you do it. Bless you all. ❤❤❤❤
Another Moment spent with both of you. Thank you so much. Glad you are taking time off . It the season you freedom from garden obligations. The urgent ones a pain. Not pleasure times you share.
Laura, winter is strawberry season in Florida! And our strawberries are FABULOUS! However, the strawberry farmers have to turn their sprinkler systems on at 32 degrees to save the plants from being killed.
Hi~ So happy you mentioned our 🌴Florida Strawberries! 🍓 When I first moved down here from up north, I was fascinated watching the news showing the farmers turning the sprinklers on as the temp dropped below 32° to allow an ice shell form on the berries to protect them. They were always the sweetest, too! Looking forward to our Strawberry Festival.🍓
@@dianegougelet1829 , since you mentioned the strawberry festival, you must be close to Plant City! I am also, just a bit west of Zephyrhills in Pasco County.
@dianegougelet1829 I was going to say I would love to go to the Strawberry festival. I am not a fan of crowds. I will wait for the local strawberry farm to sell fresh strawberries and homemade Strawberry ice cream 😋.
I wish you’d do a viewer video on winter gardens. We’ve seen your lovely property in snow (and more of that is always great), but it would be fun to see what other people do. I’ve been fascinated with the idea after seeing a video on the Bressingham Winter Garden.
Snow ice cream is delicious! A wonderful childhood memory for myself and my children! I’m from Ga so we get snow very little but when we do… we will enjoy a little bit of ice cream 🎉😊❤
We were stationed in South Dakota for three years. While I don't love the cold I LOVED getting out of the house and shoveling snow! I had small kids at the time and it was a great opportunity to get outside with some time to myself and exercise during the cold snowy months.
happy birthday to little Samantha Grace have a wonderful birthday celebration with your cousins and relatives ,God Bless you with good health and happiness.
In my town, Inver Grove Heights, we have a wonderful family that measured snow depth by Barbie Doll. At the beginning of the snow season the set up a table with the Barbie standing in the middle. Then they post pictures of Barbie at the end of every accumulating snowfall...not scientific but it works. The on line community reminds them when a snowfall is coming. Being Minnesota in normal years we can have Barbies head go under. Then as it melts she reappears. So they monitored by before and after shots. Normally the mounds on the patio furniture is how Minnesota follows snow depth but Barbie adds some fun.
Hi Laura and Aaron! LOL's, on the snow shoveling comments. I shoveled my driveway for years early in the a.m. so I could get out for work. When I turned 65, I finally hired someone to plow my driveway! Nice to know Aaron wanted us to know that. I guess chivalry still exists. Just a side note, you mention instructional type videos. I would love that. One suggestion I would have is, how do you make and keep a nice cut edge flower bed. I have tried, I never can get my edge straight, not sure how deep to go down, then how to get that slope toward the flowers. It would be so much cheaper, and it looks so nice, but I just haven't got it yet.
Just wanted to wish Samantha Grace a very happy birthday. I wanted to let you know I met a young woman, a nurse at Kaiser hispital in San Diego, who was also named Samantha Grace. I had to tell the burse about your garden show.
I started to add the 3% Hydrogen Peroxide to the water when I water plants. Just 3-4 tablespoons per quart I'd say. Anyway, doing this is the first year I have NOT had fungus gnats in my amaryllis pots. I used to mix it up by the gallon and used it up over a couple weeks. But I think it needs to be a FRESH mix of water that gets used up right away. It even works great for spraying ON the plants to help get rid of whiteflies and other pests. Formula for that is 1/4 cup HP to one quart of water.
We had snow ice cream every winter when I was a kid here in Michigan. Delicious. Maybe I’ll make some this week. Have plenty of snow right now. Please take time off for yourselves! We do love your videos but enjoy some time off.🌲🌿🌳
You have a barn that is empty. Park your golf carts etc in there. Or utilize it for storage and then you would have room in the big barn. I would keep it just for that! It would be a great storage space!
I enjoy your channel so much. It was quite a surprise when you mentioned the Mosser Lee product today. I live 10 miles from the company and I realize I need to learn more about them. It is located in a town with only 150 people. One of the owners graduated from High School with my husband. Small world.
12:02 AM Tuesday January 23. I love watching viewer submitted garden pictures or videos for information in the dead of winter! It gives me a lot of ideas that goes in my gardening notebook/journal!
Meteorologist here...measuring the snow for a weather station is always going to be inaccurate. You have to think of the snow to liquid ratio....which can change from system to system. Is it heavy wet snow vs. dry. The way people official do is put a out a piece of white board in the lawn (not near a tree or too close to the home, away from areas that get drifts) and they just take the measurement and wipe it clean daily.
We always as a kid made snow-cream. Try chocolate on top! Hope Benjamin and Samantha Grace had wonderful Birthdays! Babies growing so fast!Love the videos!
I had to laugh when you were talking about "Snow Cream" as we called it in West Virginia. When I moved to South Carolina people had never heard of it. Of course they generally do not get enough snow here to make it. I remember my mother always made us wait for the second snow before we could make Snow Cream. She felt the first snow would clean the air. Then the second snow would not have the dirt and grit in it. Also, we got enough snow that we could get nice clean snow (always avoid the "Yellow Snow."
Reminds me of the time years ago I was showing my roommate how to make snow ice cream in Utah. We got way too much snow so we threw the left over snow in the bath tub. My indoor cat had the habit of getting in the bathtub to lick the drips from the leaky tap. (He had never experienced snow before). All of a sudden we heard a blood curdling scream. The poor cat was so shocked when he landed on that snow - he couldn’t tell it was there in the bathtub in the dark, it scared the crap out of him.
Hi of course I look forward to new videos but I also enjoy watching reruns when y’all are taking a break …happy to know you all will take more time for your selves !! Your reruns never get old … thank you 🥰🙌
I'm currently re-watching your garden shed and greenhouse inspiration videos. They're so great! And all the beautiful gardens surrounding them are so lovely to see (again). Have you considered doing a barn/stable inspiration video. I know you have quite a few horse people following you, myself included. I'd love to see what people have done with their barns. I'd also love to see barn landscaping, too. Thanks for doing such great content. :)
5:25 for the person, asking this question I have had fungus gnats. Inside the house and in the greenhouse, and what I do is I water them with a Neem oil mixture. Doesn’t hurt the plant takes care of the problem.
My grandparents had what they called a "driving shed," which essentially was a 3-sided covered area that housed the farm attachments and lawn tractor. Over the years, if they needed more covered areas, they would build onto either end. Just an idea! ❤ love your channel! Thank you for continuing to do what you do 🎉
I don't know why, but chickens are attracted to white. They love pecking white styrofoam. Mine while freeranging would love eating white geranium flowers and white azalea flowers (but not these plant leaves).
Laura, I could watch you do anything all day! I enjoy your videos and we are having the lemon, rosemary, chicken this week 😊 I live in Georgia and I wish we had "dry snow" like we had in Colorado. Our southern snow is very "icy" and if we get 1 in. or less, the roads are impassable to ANY type vehicle!!& everyone up north laughs at us. If you throw a Colorado snowball at someone,it just softly dissolves , but if you throw a Georgia snowball at someone it will kill them!! 😂 (Thanks for letting me vent)❤️❤️
Well I'll say people on East Coast just are too in a hurry to be driving snowy roads maybe. But the tractor trailer accident few years ago ought to make one think if they in a slick Rd area. I'll never Forget watching it . BLACK ICE !!! And just that quick. Slid went off the overpass and blew up !!! The world had to of seen it!
Laura, I did the same thing to my jacket with a fur hood🤦🏼♀️. I used a blow dryer (on high) to blast the fur and it detangled it beautifully! Hope this helps❤
Before destroying that cute red barn on the new property, consider using it as a back up storage area. Snowblower, seasonal implements, overstocked or seldom used items, Christmas lights...thus thinning out some of the storage space in the barn for more current/constant needs.
The "RAM" conversation in that video was hilarious and I totally got it. Aaron, I'll teach you what someone taught my husband when we were engaged. I would ask his opinion about wedding details and he would say "I don't care." Um, excuse me SIR, you don't care!?! 😅 Then he learned to say "It's not that I don't care, I just don't have an opinion" on whatever subject we were talking about. That phrase been key to the last 18 yrs of marriage for us! 😉😄 Also, life is too short, eat the snow!
Never doubt the garden videos are worthy! In one of your first couple of videos, there was an out building painted the most lovely color of brown. In that instant I knew EXACTLY with what to paint my utility building. It is gorgeous to me and I have never, ever looked back.
Canadian here and shoes off at the door is mandatory. Oh my god snow, sand and whatever all over the house in our winters 😮. Bring your slippers but no boots or shoes in the house ever.
I know youhave all the batteries but we loved our ego snowblower. Just a suggestion. Laura I love that u do those fun projects & don't worry so much. We made snow candy & those are things the kids remember
25.18 - shoveling snow and using a snow blower. I saw a news article where someone in my local area used a snow blower because it was such a dry, fluffy snow. I don't own a snow blower so I used my leaf blower and it worked like a charm. FYI - thinking outside the box for the win!
I’m 65 with a bad back. I shovel. Ppl are always saying why isn’t your husband out doing it? Well he works in another city from 6am-5pm. Like you Laura. We don’t usually get too much. We get the chinook winds and it all melts. My boots last forever also. lol
You make fancy snow ice cream. We always sat our bowls out after it had snowed for a few hours. When we brought them in, we'd sprinkle granulated sugar over the top and pour milk over it like cereal.
Went to get a moss pole at the local garden shop...it was $150 dollars! I'll be getting in touch with your parents garden center for sure...Happy Birthday to the kiddos 🎉
I got a Tempest for Christmas, I love it! I also noticed that my temp varies from the weather apps. I don’t know where their data is coming from. The nearest National Weather Service is about 60 miles away and there aren’t any local weather stations near us. I also like the Tempest map that is on their website. You can check out the readings on the surrounding Tempest weather stations. When we lived in the Texas Panhandle (zone 6A), we would get random heavy snow storms sometimes 6 - 12 inches. With our wind, we could have massive drifts. But the snow would be completely gone in a couple of days. Every 4 or 5 years we might have a blizzard that would cause snow drifts that could last a week or more. People would buy snowblowers that they wouldn’t use for years, you could find them in garage sales. I never shoveled, it will melt tomorrow.😅😅
In regards to Laura shoveling snow : I already knew, I heard her in my head telling Aaron not to do it so she could get it on video!! lol Idk about anyone else, but it was super relaxing to watch her shovel snow.
I think it's a great time for you guys to take some time off. Spring and summer will be here before you know it, and you guys will be busting your butt getting your lawn/gardens all nice and beautiful.
Thank you Laura and Aaron. I so like watching on Sundays. Laura you are still sounding rough, are you feeling any better.? I know watching day will be different from your filming day. ? Hope you are feeling better. Enjoy your snow and Samantha Graces #3!! Happy Birthday little ones.
Love watching your videos. I have learned so by watching them. It really gets me excited to get out in my yard, which I love to do. I love the outdoors. I love to mow, work in the flowerbeds, design new flowerbeds and ride my horses. Thank you for all your hard work.
Eat the snow! Drink the hose water! Just live your life!❤ (just don't eat the yellow snow 😂)
I grew up eating snow ice cream and drinking hose water. Still alive ! And healthy. Do what you want! 😂
Absolutely, “everybody worries too much about everything”!
So agree.. we survived somehow 😂
I have no problem if you eat dirt my issue is when you call the ambulance I then have to pay for your experiments. Same for smokers and plastic surgery addicts. I wouldn't care about your choices if you weren't clogging up hospital beds when my grandma needed it because of her osteoporosis.
It’s so annoying the the worrywarts seriously make things miserable for everyone else 🙄 #LifeSuckers
I so agree. Just enjoy life.

I thought the RAM comment was hilarious. I love Aaron’s sarcasm. Your kibitzing back and forth is fun.
Good Morning.. got my coffee and all ready to watch

Up here in Canada there is a golden rule, “ Don’t eat the yellow snow!” 😂 I agree with Laura, people worry too much about everything.
Oh, my word! Fresh snow is cleaner than city water!
lol, Aaron just got excited about the possibility of a new piece of equipment.
Take time with your kids. Your viewers will be here.

Good morning from Delaware Garden Answer friends.

Good morning all have a safe and blessed day ❤️

Belated happy bday Benjamin and Samantha! You're so loved and precious to all of us.❤
Louisiana has fresh strawberries starting in January!
Interesting... I get all three types. Love the throwing snow balls.
LOL😂 Where do you live? I like the throwing ones too ! But right now no one is on my "hit-list" right now 😂 (subject to change though)LOL 😡❤😂
I have actually used a "cat brush" gingerly while still damp to refluff.
Good morning, Laura & Aaron ☕️ Another great recap. Hope both Benjamin & Samantha Grace had wonderful birthdays 🥳. Have a Blessed Day 😊🐈🐈
"GREAT...not great" made me chuckle! He wants to be so positive!
In South Florida this is strawberry season! From November to May! Tomatoes as well!!!
Before destroying that cute red barn on the new property, consider using it as a back up storage area. Snowblower, seasonal implements, overstocked or seldom used items, Christmas lights...thus thinning out some of the storage space in the barn for more current/constant needs.
Use a leaf blower when snow is light
The room looks gorgeous love the accent coral colour adds a beautiful pop & another colour option with decor.
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Have a great birthday Samantha! Glad Benjamin had a good birthday.
Stay warm guys and enjoy the snow.
Great recap. Our groceries have more crap in it than snow. Live life to the fullest.
Oh, Aaron! I had to laugh out loud at your reaction to eating snow cream…”uhhh”!! 😂😂😂
Many cultures do this. Slip on shoes easiest
I agree. Guests should be respectful also. My shoes come off on a daily basis.
I know youhave all the batteries but we loved our ego snowblower. Just a suggestion. Laura I love that u do those fun projects & don't worry so much. We made snow candy & those are things the kids remember
I have snow boots that I bought in 1992. They’re still in my closet I haven’t had a need for them but they still look like they’re brand new.
I think The Impatient Gardener had a video about boxwood blight a year or so ago.
We did snow ice cream with my granddaughter using a baggie to mix it. Kids love it!!
25.18 - shoveling snow and using a snow blower. I saw a news article where someone in my local area used a snow blower because it was such a dry, fluffy snow. I don't own a snow blower so I used my leaf blower and it worked like a charm. FYI - thinking outside the box for the win!
Nice to know Thanks
I’m 65 with a bad back. I shovel. Ppl are always saying why isn’t your husband out doing it? Well he works in another city from 6am-5pm. Like you Laura. We don’t usually get too much. We get the chinook winds and it all melts. My boots last forever also. lol
You make fancy snow ice cream. We always sat our bowls out after it had snowed for a few hours. When we brought them in, we'd sprinkle granulated sugar over the top and pour milk over it like cereal.
Happy Birthday Samantha!
Went to get a moss pole at the local garden shop...it was $150 dollars! I'll be getting in touch with your parents garden center for sure...Happy Birthday to the kiddos 🎉
Amazon.
You can make a moss pole out of chicken wire and coconut fiber. I guess that would be a coconut fiber pole.
In regards to Laura shoveling snow : I already knew, I heard her in my head telling Aaron not to do it so she could get it on video!! lol
Idk about anyone else, but it was super relaxing to watch her shovel snow.
We have a snow blower. It seldom gets used. Most of the time the snow is minimal and a battery operated leaf blower works great.
I live in Minnesota we do SNOW. If it is a dry snow use a leaf blower. It works great! ❤
How deep can the snow be and still have this work?
Boo for negative nellys!! You’re doing great work, please take time for family time and take advantage of the snuggle time !!
Love watching your videos. I have learned so by watching them. It really gets me excited to get out in my yard, which I love to do. I love the outdoors. I love to mow, work in the flowerbeds, design new flowerbeds and ride my horses. Thank you for all your hard work.
Good morning! Coffee & Garden Answer recaps. Great way to start my Sunday morning!
My mom always made us snow ice cream when we were kids but she never used the first couple of snowfalls and she always made sure it was well over 6”
I love it that you teach us so much about things like "snow ice cream". Going to google it now. Thank you
Good morning Laura and Aaron! Hugs from N.C..❤
Always enjoy the recaps. It's my Sunday after church habit now!
