I agree that Rudolph instigated the fight and was at fault too. He was attempting to do (pull the helmet off) a player. One of the somethings that Garrett succeeded in doing and is being suspended for. However, Garrett took it a step further and hit him in the head with that same helmet. So I think being suspended for the rest of the season is good. But I think Rudolph should also get suspended for 1 to 2 games. After all if they are trying to send a statement that the behavior is wrong to discourage players then it should be wrong all the way around, regardless of whether the player succeeded or not. I agree that Rudolph instigated the fight and was at fault too. He was attempting to do (pull the helmet off) a player. One of the somethings that Garrett succeeded in doing and is being suspended for. However, Garrett took it a step further and hit him in the head with that same helmet. So I think being suspended for the rest of the season is good. But I think Rudolph should also get suspended for 1 to 2 games. After all if they are trying to send a statement that the behavior is wrong to discourage players then it should be wrong all the way around, regardless of whether the player succeeded or not. Although all of you are who are dissmissing the Browns chances of getting to the post season were not listening to the sports commentators who were saying the Browns had a pretty easy schedule the rest of the season. Of course now without their best defensive player what are thier chances. Just seeing how things could have played out differently for the Browns may be punishment enough for Garrett. But from the NFL point of view. The helmet. Hitting him with the helmet. The one important symbol of the NFL. The symbol supposed to be for protection. Being used as a weapon.

A one game (added) suspension next year is a slap on the wrist for this guy. If criminal charges could be even just a possibility, why protect this guy and let him play ever again??? Once you lose control and turn this into a potentially deadly situation, you’re done. Coddling then with a suspension is just perpetuating the lack of standards when it comes to preventing violence (domestic or otherwise) has been the calling card of the NFL.
