- flyhalo.com - In the latest Team Fly Halo Motor Ten Minute, we teach you the proper application process for applying prop tape to your propeller. Prop tape protects the leading edge from sand and other small debris that may find it's way into your propellers path.
This video shows a step by step process to do the job right and keep your investment safe! Never fly the beach or any sandy environment again without utilizing prop tape.
Shout out to James Allred for filming this Motor Minute and bumping up our production level!
Super video. I taped my Helix prop like this, but 'belt and braced' it by running tiny drops of superglue, with a needle, down the length of the tape edges and a minute spot of epoxy to the very end of the tip. So far 38 hours and it's perfect!
Whoa, Shane...You da man! Shaving with a paramotor prop, takes some cojones.
Txs for the video. Followed your tutorial and did it to my prop. More than 15 flights already with the tape applied and hasn't move a mm.
Well done, good camerawork to whoever was helping.
thanks bro!! getting ready to do mine now.. this video is stelar and so heplful . thanks for taking the time to make it .billy
Great advice, well made video clip. Will do it to my Helix today.
After two hours of flying my tape was starting to come away from the thin end. I cut more tape but when I took the old tape off it also took a layer of paint from the leading edge! Obviously the prop. had been repaired in the past. I used sand paper to smooth the edge again and re-applied a slightly larger piece of tape to both prop ends. Hope this one stays on better! Might try the superglue on needle trick if it starts to pull off again!
3M Scotchgard Paint Protection Film comes in various thicknesses (6mill-8mill-12mill-14mill). Which one do you use?
Great Video Shane, Well done.
Thanks - useful video and well filmed too.
Ya nice one Shane. I am hitting the car detailer tomorrow. Maybe I won't go through so many props !! Thanx
Hi Shane, thanks for the video. I have a Scout Carbon on order. Hopefully it comes in soon. I actually don't know if it is coming with carbon fiber or fiberglass props. Would this be beneficial with fiberglass props as well?
Nice one!
I ordered 4 blades. can you send it to Indonesia?
hi! may u tell me.. its a Helix prop? or its a "copy" of Helix prop???
I like how its looks with that carbon look, but i like helix props... hehe...
thanks in advance for your answer!
Can you please describe the type of 3m tape. Is there a type number. I couldn't catch what you said in the video regarding the product used in car shops.
Hey Ian! It's 3m Clearbra 8mil thickness. I think SGH6 is the designator :)
Yes Eric. Yes it can.
Help! I applied prop tape and it got stuck to my beard since you said I couldn't shave. Would pulling the starter rope with the engine switch turned off be the best way to free my beard?
Nice laundry rack behind you.
I just saw someone use electrical tape
Nice manicure.
