I bought one of these 2 weeks ago for $2,500 Australian (gas ignition and charcoal together are not allowed in Australia apparently). I've cooked about 10 meals on it so far and can't get enough of it. It's temperature stability for Ribs or bake part of a Reverse Sear is awesome. Then pop open the vent and up she fires for a red hot sear. I love this BBQ and now look at my kettle with guilt because I know it probably won't get used much anymore.

Hi Pitmaster X, thanks for this review always enjoy watching your channel. I too own this grill, since March this year. It is absolutely amazing for both small and very large cooks. Since you did a one shot review perhaps good to add some perspective of using the grill over a longer period from my side as I use the grill weekly. It works like a charm and it is runs very economical on its fuel and you can manage/correct temperatures really well. I did some longer cooks on it 10 - 15 hours and it managed to stay on temp really well if you clean the bottom vent regularly. Both with and without a fan controller. I did some searing and pizza making on very high temps (getting of the scale of the provided temp gauge) and also than it works well, even if you use the diffuser plate to create a very hot pizza oven. Very good build quality, insulation and a strong solution for indirect grilling with the diffuser plate. I do have the Weber Summit Charcoal Grill Center (with the full side table) which make life at the grill so much easier as you have a great working space and you can store the various accessories really well (e.g. the diffuser plate). The side table can get really dirty during some cooks but since it is stainless steel it is so easy to clean up. Small points of critique for those considering this grill. The wheels on grill should not be plastic and should all rotate, imho this does not suit a €2000+ grill. I did manage to break the basic GBS Grill insert after a few week but within a week I got supplied with a completely new grill grate by Webber (top service). Also the gas ignition system runs less smooth after many uses as it collects ash and dirt causing an increase in the time you need to get a proper ignition. I am back into using a Looftlighter as it is easy to light only a few coals to setup for low and slow. Overall very happy with this grill and its superb performance. Hope this adds some insights to your review!
I sold my house to buy this grill. The Bank turned me down a few times, but after I got my raise at work, it was more affordable. I got a 30 year 2% Fixed Rate loan. True Story Dude..
Nice video. And I gotta say... I love my Weber Summit Charcoal Grill Center. Awesome charcoal grill! So far it has handled EVERYTHING I've thrown at it...low & slow, hot & fast, baking, pizza...you name it. Versatility is killer. And just for reference, I own & use five other outdoor cookers...not including dedicated fryers.
Awesome. I've been looking forward to this one because I'm very interested in your opinion on this for obvious reasons. I don't know if you saw it or not, but I did an efficiency test video where I put 3 chimneys of charcoal and just let it run at 225 till it ran out. It went for DAYS! It's super efficient. I am amazed you were able to get 15 racks of spare ribs in there. I was only about to get 12 racks of baby backs in mine. Are spare ribs cut differently over there? LOL. Leg sockets = "Weber heritage" (You are much more diplomatic than me, buddy!) Congratulations on the new cooker, man. You are going to love it! Great job.
+Baby Back Maniac Thanks Justin... I loved your videos on the weber summit. It is super efficient. Maybe I have special powers that allow me to add 15 😂😆 hahahah baby backs are about the same. We call them spareribs
I can't wait to see what you do next with it. I love your videos. You're like my (wait for it) "brother from a Nether mother." That's probably been done before but I've been sitting on it for a while. lol. Have a great weekend.
For those comparing this to the Kamodo Joe (I have the II), I see the Summit having the following advantages; - Lighter, easier to move around - The Summit has a better lower/upper section for charcoal. With the Joe you lower the grilling grate itself, which makes it a little harder to use in the lower level. - Looks like the summit comes with the stainless heat diffuser (?) with sides that open up to add more wood chunks, with the Joe you have to move a ceramic half circle to do so. - The Summit doesn't have ceramic parts so it wont crack or break. - It has a built in gas starter. Biggest bennefits of the Joe I see are the built in side shelves, and the theory that the ceramic will retain heat better. But a lot of reviewers seems to say the the Summit retains heat fine, even in the winter. You can get a Joe II for
I have the basic Weber grill at home and love it. The one thing I love is that it does keep the coals working for a long time, and the meat cooks greatly. The price was right also and I love that.
Great review. I would have owned one of these this year but came across a crazy deal on a Weber Performer. What sold me on the Summit over a ceramic was not just keeping the heat but if you went got too hot you could cool down the Summit a lot faster.
Hi Andrew! The less additives the better in my opinion. Besides that is the big advantage of a grill like this. It runs really long on charcoal already.
I agree with you on the purity of the lumpwood. On the new model Smokey Joes, Weber has introduced a high quality coal grate with much narrower gaps to suit lumpwood not falling through to the bottom. Maybe they should consider the same for the Summit, as an option at least?
Hi Pitmaster X, since you both have the JoeTisserie and the Weber Summit now can you please validate if the JoeTisserie can fit on the Weber and works? Thanks in advance for your help in this one!
That was a really good review, but I'm curious which one of the Weber or Kamado big Joe you would choose and why? In Sweden both are prized the same around 1800€
Good question.. between these grills it is all about preference. Best thing is to put them together in a showroom en get a feeling for both. Either way you choose you can't go wrong.
This is my dream grill! However i have bought cars for less money haha. It may not be nearly as efficient but my webber 26.75 will do the trick for now.
Just remember a ceramic grill will be a pain to move unlike the summit shown here. Just do plenty of research before doing any knee jerk impulse buys like I tend to do sometimes. I built a table for 26” Webber and I still feel like it was an overall better value than anything Weber would give you for a base model charcoal grill with a table attached to it. Good luck!
atm you are the best bbq/grill channel on yt. But you should have named this video "Presentation of the Weber Summit Charcoral" not a review imho. It was obvious that it was a video with a product placement, and thats totally ok. But of a review i expect that even little flaws are mentioned. For example that the gas ignition could not be evereyones style, the reflectorplate material, the isolation and so on. I am not saying that the Grill is not good, i think it is a really good grill, but for a review i missed some critique. Nethertheless, keep the good stuff coming!
Oooh a review at last, ever since i've used it once within the Weber Grill academy, i was intrigued ! Tnx for the nice review, doing a great job neighbour :-). But, although it's much more stable than the new kettle you reviewed last time, this one is really way too expensive. Rather spend it on a Weber genesis ii lx gas grill.. Think we could talk a long time on this topic, off course over a Belgian beer ;-)
Hee Roel, toffe video! Thanks!
sorry but the treager was not what i needed ..:)...what i need is the Weber Smokey mountain ..and a good kettle grill .was thinking of the performer it acts much like a gas grill but are a true bbq tool ..for the same i have to pay for a treager ..cant make good Food if you rush it :)
If I had the money I'd have one of every products Weber makes.... no offense to the gas side, but charcoal only for me. I have a 22" kettle w/ cart, a 26" kettle, an 18" SMS, a 22" SMS, and, of course, a Smokey Joe.
Great video of the Weber Summit Charcoal!! I have one myself and have already done some great meals on it ♨️♨️ it would be great to have the iGrill 2 to complete it 😝🤞🤞🤞
Zeker.
I WANT THIS GRILL SO MUCH, but DAMN, that price tag says it doesn't make any kind of good sense to spend that amount of money on a charcoal grill. Especially since one can achieve the same results with a $99, 22" Weber.
Some of that may be true, however, it seems like Weber is stubborn about dropping their prices. Example, the 37" Ranch Kettle has been selling for $1299.99 for the longest time. MSRP is $1499.99. And the same thing seems to be happening with the Summit Charcoal grill. They dropped the price by $200, so lets see how long Weber will continue to sell this grill for $1499.00. I bet it will stay at $1499 for years to come.
Weber, nice one argain Roel!! Mine igrill mini broke down after the last beercan chicken i did so this one will be welcome😂 nice bbq sadly it came to late on the market for me i got a kamado now. Maybe if they start a minin of this😜 Cheers!
Cool grill i doesn´t see him in the wildlife until yet cool feature but not enaugh bugs in my pocket for this grill but i have seven grills in my backyard ^^
$2,200 if you want the one with the small connected side table. Then you will be looking for expensive accessories from 3rd party sellers that Weber does not make for their own grill
I don't have a Weber but that looks pretty good I have another type of grill and it doesn't look as fantastic cuz you showing this one here I might be very interested in purchasing one like that I guess I have to go around and look I live in Honolulu love to watch your video thank you very much have a great day God bless you and your family and all of your friends and all of your followers to have a wonderful day amen
Weber!! Doe mij zon handige igrill!
StratNut2008 Not sure how long it will last, however I’ve had a Weber summit gas grill that’s 10 years old and I’m expecting to last at least another 5. That’s long enough for me.
I bought one of these 2 weeks ago for $2,500 Australian (gas ignition and charcoal together are not allowed in Australia apparently). “Nice smoke ring..” Shows picture, no smoke ring.
Clearly the Meat is cutting back on smoking.
Good on them.
@@KaeganThornhillTheCyberRaven 😂
I saw a smoke ring, or was that an Aborition. No, it was a ghost! You can send the IGrill to my cousin in Ostende.

+js78js wow awesome... thanks for the valuable addition
Btw, Pitmaster X, this is one of the best demo for this grill, even better than Weber's demo.
I sold my house to buy this grill. The Bank turned me down a few times, but after I got my raise at work, it was more affordable. I got a 30 year 2% Fixed Rate loan. True Story Dude..
That's a cheap house you had then.
You must have your brains in your feet
Next a reverse mortgage for the cart

Congratulations on the new cooker, man. You are going to love it! Great job.
Dutch ribs are indeed a different cut and are prepare slightly different if you would choose for e.g. 3-2-1 method as it will become 2-2-1 ;)
Ah! makes sense, thanks!
+Baby Back Maniac Thanks Justin... I loved your videos on the weber summit. It is super efficient.

this video is from 2017, is this model still available with the igniter and not all the table
I have the basic Weber grill at home and love it. The one thing I love is that it does keep the coals working for a long time, and the meat cooks greatly. The price was right also and I love that.
19 secondes in and I already found the information I need. You are the boss!
Good review and a big thumbs up.
Thanks !
Can the fire be snuffed out like a kamado so you can re-use the coals again?
You would do it the same as every other Weber charcoal grill, close the vents.
Would you pick this over the weber smokey mountain
Great review. I would have owned one of these this year but came across a crazy deal on a Weber Performer. What sold me on the Summit over a ceramic was not just keeping the heat but if you went got too hot you could cool down the Summit a lot faster.
+goirish560 That is right
How well insulated is grill oven get hot on the outside

Hey Roel, any reason why you used lumpwood over briquettes? Any sense which would be better?
Hi Andrew! The less additives the better in my opinion. Besides that is the big advantage of a grill like this. It runs really long on charcoal already.

Just bought mine, graduated from BGE. I've gone full circle back to Weber after 9 years of owning the Egg.
+Gabriel Boyce Cool... it's is definitely a nice barbecue
Hi Pitmaster X, since you both have the JoeTisserie and the Weber Summit now can you please validate if the JoeTisserie can fit on the Weber and works? Thanks in advance for your help in this one!
+js78js he bro... you can't mix those 2 they are metal on metal. They will damage the grill
Do you prefer this cooker or the kamado joe?
Where was the smoke ring on the ribs? From the video you showed, there was no smoke ring at all.
The vidoe didn't show it much, but there was definitely a good smoke ring
Hey Roel,

Great review. I was thinking of buying this bbq. Now I'm even more convinced to buy it. Thank you, Pitmaster. Groetjes uit België.
Any one knows how many inches is the summit grill & is it available in different sizes like the other weber kettles or its only one size available ?
This is my dream grill! However i have bought cars for less money haha. It may not be nearly as efficient but my webber 26.75 will do the trick for now.
Do you still own this grill? I don't think I've ever seen any other cooks on this. Lots on the Kamado Joe but not this.
Have you heard of the Weber cold smoking device?
First off great video! I'm looking for a new grill and I'm stuck between the big Joe and the summit. What would you choose if you can only have one?
Just remember a ceramic grill will be a pain to move unlike the summit shown here. Just do plenty of research before doing any knee jerk impulse buys like I tend to do sometimes. I built a table for 26” Webber and I still feel like it was an overall better value than anything Weber would give you for a base model charcoal grill with a table attached to it. Good luck!

Good review. Very detailed. I’ll buy one of these based Baby Back Maniacs and your video reviews!
Ive seen it in my local Weber store, It does carry a high price, but compared to others, i really like it better, looks like it will last a long time,
I am new to Germany does anyone know where I get a good bbq grill or online that delivers?
Nothing about the intro track being a copy of X from Xzibit ?
Great Review , just looking at getting the summit charcoal
Would you choose a Weber Summit Charcoal over a Kamado Joe? If not, why? Appreciate your thoughts, thank you :)
Did you have a good time eating all the ribs? Great review!
Nice commercial would you buy it ?
I didn't see any smoke ring did i miss something ?
I saw no smoke ring.
Is the kid supposed to be really stiff to open and close when first put together?
Hi X, great stuff. .... one question are you on the Ruhrpott BBQ this year? I would be great to meet you in live.... BBQ aus Moers
Awesome... yes bro!! I will be starting the KamadoJoe road trip there!
Pitmaster X I will try to get a photo with you ..... selfie+ cu
Nice Review Roel 😍
Love you videos and love the Weber summit. Just done an unboxing and build video. not up to your standard
There wasn’t a smoke ring visible on the video.
WEBER.
Looks like a very nice grill. How much does it cost?
Depends on where you live..here it's about 1650 Euro's
Haven't seen this grill get used a while on the channel!

Hee Roel, toffe video! Thanks!

what smoke ring?
You can not combine this grill with the weber rotisserie? Seeing the top is fixed to the grill?
+marcobrazil Nope
Bedankt voor al die prima video's! Lekkere recepten! Gr. Arjan
+Arjan van Herwaarden Dank je Arjan 👍
I forgot . How much do I get paid if I post " Weber " ?
Weber.
Sind een weekje eigenaar van de Summit. Geweldig ding! Morgen je recept met varkenswangentjes proberen 👍🏻
great review! I actually didn't expect the summit to be at this level, now it (and weber) got my attention
+FetMule Thanks it is 👍
great video. i love this channel, keep up the great content!
Love my Weber performer but I want one of these bad boys
Nice video series, gets me even more enthousiastic
+Marco Peters Awesome
WoW!! What a great new Weber! Weber 3.0 for sure!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
+Bart Blikman It is Bart 👍🤓
Isn't there charcoal baskets...
Weber
Amazing grill.
Sorry don’t see smoke ring?
Great BBQ but the charcoal in the video looks awful. It was still smoking after 30mins so no idea what additives Webber must use on it.
How much is it
€1650 probably $1800
Nice work Roel!!! Great Weber product!
nah im going Traeger ...easy to use and easy to clean
Awesome brother glad you found the grill that fits your needs. Looking forward to seeing some pics
sorry but the treager was not what i needed ..:)...what i need is the Weber Smokey mountain ..and a good kettle grill .was thinking of the performer it acts much like a gas grill but are a true bbq tool ..for the same i have to pay for a treager ..cant make good Food if you rush it :)
If I had the money I'd have one of every products Weber makes.... no offense to the gas side, but charcoal only for me. I have a 22" kettle w/ cart, a 26" kettle, an 18" SMS, a 22" SMS, and, of course, a Smokey Joe.

+Christophe Houssoy yes for sure
Weber.
+Peter B Tof ding he Peter
Zeker.
I'm sorry but I can't justify the price.
Richard LeMaster agree.. I've seen it in person.. it's nice, but not $2k nice
I WANT THIS GRILL SO MUCH, but DAMN, that price tag says it doesn't make any kind of good sense to spend that amount of money on a charcoal grill. Especially since one can achieve the same results with a $99, 22" Weber.
I think Weber decided to see how much money people would spend for a pit.
I would really like to have this. I am leaning towards a Komado Joe however instead. I think the Weber is superior but like you guys say, the price.
I'm flat out jealous Roel, I want that grill. please do many videos on it :)
+michael landry Its an awesome grill. It is already gone again. But I promise it will be back
Weber, nice one argain Roel!!
Mine igrill mini broke down after the last beercan chicken i did so this one will be welcome😂 nice bbq sadly it came to late on the market for me i got a kamado now. Maybe if they start a minin of this😜
Cheers!

Damn I was expecting this was under $1000 since its not ceramic. Still not bad but out of my price range.
$2,200 if you want the one with the small connected side table. Then you will be looking for expensive accessories from 3rd party sellers that Weber does not make for their own grill

+Maarten Telnekes Dank je Maarten
Weber!! Doe mij zon handige igrill!
Weber is great !!! I love the kettles 🥳
I had a Weber for years and loved it, very reliable and well made.... but frankly the ceramic grills will last forever... this won’t
StratNut2008
Not sure how long it will last, however I’ve had a Weber summit gas grill that’s 10 years old and I’m expecting to last at least another 5. That’s long enough for me.
Thanks for a first rate presentation
Klasse Roel super video over de weber
+andrew summeren van Dank je Andrew 👍🔥
