Synopsis:Underachiever Oscar (Will Smith) is a pint-sized fish with grand aspirations. When mob-connected great white shark Frankie (Michael Imperioli) is accidentally killed, Oscar concocts a story with Frankie's peace-loving brother Lenny (Jack Black) that it was he who murdered the shark. Suddenly hailed "Sharkslayer" by his aquatic brethren, Oscar has bigger fish to fry when Frankie's father, mob boss Don Lino (Robert De Niro), dispatches his henchmen to track down his son's killer. - บันเทิง
I’ve always thought this movie feels like a fever dream in the best kind of way
For the longest time I thought Over The Hedge was a fever dream and come to find out like 2 years ago it wasn't.

this is the most underrated animated movie!! like it’s absolutely star studded, hilarious, great animation and one of the best soundtracks like hello??! people say it feels like a fever dream but i watched this movie so much as a kid it’s legitimately imprinted on my mind forever like i love this movie soooo much

@@isaiahadams1208 Oh, and Shark Tale is something inspirational since it has a very interesting and unique plot, setting, character designs of the sea creature characters and mostly the fish and sharks, and the character development of the main character which is Oscar the Sharkslayer.

He's more coded to be trans with how he dressed as a dolphin, he even binded his nose. Though it could just be a drag reference. And his dad asks Oscar "You turned my boy into a dolphin! What did I ever do to you?" which sounds a lot like a transphobic parent.

@@demo2823no??? He doesn’t want the responsibilities of his family cuz he won’t eat meat. So he got inspiration to fake his death, but of course he can’t be shown magically resurrected, so he has to disguise himself afterwards.
Fun fact: This movie was originally gonna be titled “Sharkslayer” but it later got retitled as Shark Tale to make it sound less violent and more family oriented.

This movie & The Prince of Egypt tie as my # 1 favorite Dreamworks movies. And the reason why I put Shark Tale in that number 1 spot is not only because of the animation, visuals and color textures but also because of the soundtrack, which didn’t have to go so hard. If it wasn’t for Shark Tale, I wouldn’t know about the other cast members other than Will Smith and I wouldn’t be knowing about half the artists on the soundtrack. Not to mention, as a child watching this, I thought it was very impressive that an animated film has a soundtrack that’s predominantly Hip Hop and R&B. Also, this film taught me the definition of gold digger as a kid.

Also, I could relate to Oscar pretty well and Shark Tale does show the powerful message of self-acceptance and learning to appreciate what you already have. Oh, and it teaches you to never date a gold digger.

I don’t care what people say about this movie it is one of the best movies! I grew up watching this movies constantly as a child to the point where the ending song is engraved in my head. The storylines, characters, and humor in this movie is what always has made me love it.

Jeeze this was a blast from the past. I remember really enjoying this as a kid, and gotta say, still funny now I'm grown. Dated in some aspects for sure, especially the animation. And, can't lie I've never really liked the look of the characters in the movie.. I mean, there are way better ways to anthropomorphize fish. But this movie still has charm, character and humour in it's favour. It's just a bunch of silliness for the fun of it with a simple message of acceptance. Which, sometimes we just need! That and it's got a lot more in there for adults to pick up on that kids would totally overlook, than other movies do. But, doesn't dumb it down for kids either, which is appreciated.
What nice it was to revisit it. Great to watch your reaction to it, glad you go a laugh outta it!

I grew up not knowing all these great actors and New York references (even tho I’m from New York) bc my mom is Mexican and so we would watch this movie all the time in Spanish

I love this movie. I actually watch it multiple times a year. Don’t understand why so many people (I’ve encountered) hate it. The cast is amazing, the comedy is great, and I just love the names of the products. I sometimes sill catch new things I missed originally.

If you haven't already, I STRONGLY suggest you track down the outtakes. Cause trust me, the movie itself may suck, but they were laughing their heads off trying to record their lines.
