The A-TAP looks like they finally updated the ALICE system to something that can handle the molle gear. I ran the M-56 LCE gear and ALICE for years in the fire service (wildland) until I found more specialized gear expressly made for fire use.
Now, for my personal pew, pew gear it is the foliage green FLC purchased from you. I modified it, it works great and I love it!

Having been issued an A-TAP as well as the LBT chest rig from Group SPEAR (CIF for SF Groups), the A-TAP is honestly one of the best pieces of kit the conventional Army has made to date. It’s stiff enough for load bearing, splits in the middle easily which also aides in heat-mitigation, and can easily be adapted via the drop-straps for use with both a T-11 reserve chute AND any ruck sack. It’s also got built-in admin pouches sized for maps.
And best of all? It’s durable and cheap. You can buy multiple of these for the price of some BS gucci chest rig that gives marginal gains

other than the quick adjust, seems like just another flc to be honest. flc and dflcs or h gear stuff all do the h harness thing just fine and they have more molle space to utilize as well.

You can also take the back off the ataps and use your own h harness. It makes it into a split slightly lighter chest rig with admin pouches

Something to take note of if you live somewhere very cold like I do in northern Wisconsin. Is that an H harness setup like this fits much better over thick cold weather gear in the winter, where a chest rig fails as it will put too much pressure over your jacket making it not as effective and restricting your breathing. I personally much prefer an H harness as it gives me the ability to wear my kit year round.

Agreed. FLC with the buckle front configuration is a great cold weather rig

I never got the ATAP but I I’ve had the TAP and FLC and everything on the civilian market in between and in retrospect, I didn’t give the FLC enough credit back then because “chest rigs” and “ranger racks” were all the rage but the FLC was super comfortable and allowed you to carry a-lot equipment. It just doesn’t look “cool”.

While talking about water supply you can molle in a hydration pack with upper molle straps going around the h harness up top and then into the belt if need be a pouch can be molle onto the bottom of the hydration pouch

Hey Lucas! Another gentleman on here did a couple of videos about removing the FLC inner belt and using it as either a battle belt or attaching it to a Y/H Harness for use as an ALICE style suspender rig but with Molle. I was curious to know your thoughts on this

That's why I carry the airforce load carry harness because it splits in the front and it carry everything I need comfortably pluss a molly back panel.
I would like to try this ATAP out.
    Thanks for sharing ❤

@DennisRogers-jb1jr yes I use there bladder as a pack and a place to throw on more kit if I need it.
I think its a really good set up. At least for me.
Pluss I love everthing the tigerstipe so that's a bonus.
I also finally found body armor in the ABU it's the London bridge trading company 6094c 😊

Looks like a great rig and well explained as an updated version of the FLC. Any plans on shipping to Canada yet?

The worst thing about the A-Tap is that its sold out.

Honestly, I've been issued the FLC, the TAPS, and the ATAP, and the ATAP is more "comfortable" than the TAP but it feels restrictive in what pouches fit and are useable while wearing it. Definitely feels like less useable PALS webbing real estate than either the FLC or TAP.

  • @justcallmejoeable

The regular TAP sucks, sorry. The FLC was better. The A-TAP is what the TAP should've been all along. It's name should've been the A-FLC.

    • @CDNR711
      @CDNR711 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

The TAP if it’s the only thing you must use as it’s issued gear. It’s not bad and there are mods that can be done to make it better. However, there are better systems out there. But, for issued gear it’s not bad.

i feel like the flc is still just as good as the ataps as well. obviously not in the airborne role, but for patrol/movement

This. The Airborne TAP was made for the conventional Army, and as such is super durable and affordable. It does everything a Paratrooper on the move would need. The Trex TRAAP is an overpriced piece of equipment based on something that was designed to be used by PVT Snuffy with minimal gains.

Mine should arrive today. The tap is ok. Seems built more for a qrf scenario. The FLC is what was issued to me way back and I always liked it. The biggest downside to it was not being able to molle a hydration pack on the back
