An EXCELLENT and clear video. Spent £29 on new LEDs and followed this video step by step (very slowly)-SUCCESS and have never opened up an LED TV I was delighted with the result. Saved me about £400 in just one hour !!-THANKS JIMMY 5 STAR !!!
Hello Danny, when u changed the strips, later u put the white layers, they are 4 of them 3 very slim and 1 gross. When u put the gross one first or last??
Amazing video. I did the repair myself, took about 3 hours. Totally worth it. Amazing video, litterally showed everything it needed to. Took me a little to figure out where all the screws went on the back panel but I got it. When I first tried powering it on it didnt work and I freaked out. Took back apart the back panel and took out all the plugs blew on them and put them back in. TV works like new!
Just thought that I would let you know that I followed your video instructions and did a little trouble shooting as my tv lg tv was not the same as the one in your video, anyway it took me a long to time to replace the LEDS and hey presto it worked. Saved me several hundred pounds. Thanks man, it gave me a great feeling of accomplishment.
Thank you so much for this! Tested the broken TV with a flashlight, and could still see the picture so knew it was a backlight issue. £45 on some new LED strips and a few hours of careful work then boom! it works again. This was super super helpful. I think a few others have mentioned about the staggered LED strips too, maybe a note in the description would be enough to make people aware? But anyway, it was easy to spot during the process, so thank you again!
Funny, watched your video and ordered the led strips from eBay. Turns out the strips came from you, lol !!! Everything works like new now, Thank You for the Great tutorial !!!
Thanks a lot, helped me a lot. Only 1 comment: I choose NOT to remove the ribboncables from the display, but to remove the flatcable from the t-con board. And leave the t-con board connected to the display during repair. This plug connection is less vulnerable, works well for me. Another tip: Note where any short and long screws are mounted, it prevents internal damage.
Unfortunately, Rick, the answer is no. I am still trying without have success to narrow down the cause. It may be the power board but the multimeter I used was not conclusive. I will probably do what you did, but am still skittish about the outcome. Meanwhile, I have tv parts in two rooms of the house to serve as a sore reminder that the job is still not done. Thanks for asking.
Rick: Finally. I definitely over-analyzed and never got to test the LED lights, but the led lights were unavailable for quite some time but ss soon as Shopjimmy restocked the led's, I ordered and got a quick delivery and re-tackled the task. Now the TV works again!! I also adjusted the backlight setting at 65% in order to help avoid another "blackout". Thanks for your post. It was very encouraging to me. Hope your unit is still going strong. I
This was a very helpful and straightforward tutorial. I just have one request how do I know the exact matching strips to get? my Tv is the same as the one in this video. Thanks
Excellent tutorial! Very thorough! I recently replaced the T-Con board that I got from you and my TV is working again. I dread having to replace anything else but your tutorials are well made and makes repairs less daunting.

It worked! Make sure the rivet cables are all the way back in when reassembling and close the secure flaps that keeps them from coming out. One wasn’t in all the way and when turned on the screen was on but a black screen, luckily it was only the river cable. Thanks again great video
Top stuff my man thanks to this video I easily was able to fix my lg tv by identifying the bad led strip and fitting a new one. Tv is now fully working again. Liked and subscribed.

Thank you so much for this, worked a treat. Just needed the strips and the bravery to go through with it. I did end up with half white screen but found another of your videos that explained why. I just hadn't connected one of the ribbons properly. Tiny moment of feet stamping at the thought of taking screws back out to get to it but all is well that ends well.
I’m about to embark on mine. Did you have difficulty removing the panel/ breaking it or getting dust/fluff/fingerprints on it? Any advice would be brilliant
No difficulties with removing the bezel etc, just take your time and only apply a little pressure where you can feel the plastic clips are. I had to remove a circuit board at one part to get to a plastic clip that hold the white card in place (this is the final part before you can actually get to the leds)

Our Panasonic 42" LED TV turns on, turns off, turns on, turns off, turns on then off and then a red blinking light intermittently occurs whilst it is turned off. We have tried a few of the fixes with no success. Would it be time to assume the LEDs need replacing?
Would an LG 47LN578V be LCD or LED, it flashes the lg logo once when turned on and we need a flashlight to see the display and flashes the current display when turned off. :/
Hello, I changed the TCON Board, Main Board and LED strips. Still not light on the TV. Any ideas? The red light flashes but I don't get anything else out of it...
Have this TV and doesn't have image, but sound. Can't figure is the backlight or power supply. The heatsink for the LED circuit doesn't get hot like others heatsinks.
Not sure what I've done wrong, did not work for me. I followed these instructions carefully. Before doing the repair, images could be seen on the display but very very dark, barely visible. Thank you very much for this video :)
My LG works again!!!
Have this TV and doesn't have image, but sound. Can't figure is the backlight or power supply. The heatsink for the LED circuit doesn't get hot like others heatsinks.
Did the replacement and TV has light and image now!! very tks for this guide
Will one blown led stop both led strips working also on other it has dim led
kinightsbliss it’s on series that’s why you have to replace entire strip
Thanks, sorted my right out
Thank you! It worked for me!
Not sure what I've done wrong, did not work for me. I followed these instructions carefully. Before doing the repair, images could be seen on the display but very very dark, barely visible. After the replacement strips, I can't see any images, the whole screen is flashing grey. Any idea what's wrong?
replaced my LEDs and all is well! THANK YOU!
what did you use for removing the panel... I wonder what those plastic things were
hello I have a 47" Philips flat screen model #47pfl5708/f7 . the screen went dark when I turned it on. It flickers a little but nothing shows up. I took off the back of the TV and I can see white dots come on for a moment then off. I was wondering if it was the main board or the t-con board?
thank you in advance
T-Con board. Definitely.

TV power light is blinking and resist to start when power button is pushed on from remote.
It take 2 hours to see steady light of power on in TV
did the tv still turn on? Mine flashes the LG logo once and then doesn't display anything anymore. What could be broken in this situation?
My Samsung model un46c6900vfxza screen flashing picture looks ok but screen flashing so on function side on eco mode when I put it to low it stop flickering and flashing it work for couples of minutes and flashing again please advise me which part to changed !!
Probably a faulty LED strip. I had the exact same problem. When I opened my TV I found one LED bulb was burnt out and preventing the bottom 3 strips from lighting. I ordered replacement strips and will let you know if it works.
where do I get to buy the lcd tv panel? I've been looking around with no luck
Ebbay
I have replaced my led strips but hadn’t resolved the problem, I can see picture with a torch on the screen but no back light.
I’ve changed the pcb thinking it’s a controls issue but still nothing.
Any suggestions?
Did you match the old ones exactly the same. Positive and negative. There is a sequence. And if you made a mistake wont work
