If there is any game that needs a remake, it's this one. I know plenty of people loving on AvP Classic, but this is the one I lost my shit in. I remember vividly playing after school, soon as I got home, I fired up my old Dell 4400, put this on, and played for hours. My computer was barely able to handle this game, but it handled it enough I was able to play it haha. They need to remake this with no modifications. Just updated graphics. Every race felt so good. The only thing I hated as the marine was you were sent out alone while the rest of your "squad" sat safely in the APC haha. Regardless, still one of my all time favorite FPS games, or any game in general.
i was about 15 when this game came out. absolutely loved it. the story and voice acting were on point. the one that came out in 2010 was decent but the characters werent as good.
AvP classic is worse in nearly every way, it's just easier to buy because 2 has licensing issues. I think the squad as a marine heightened the tension, because you had to find your way back and were worried about them dying off screen, but it sucked as a kid because you wanted teammates to have it feel less scary haha
Yeah it's honestly the only good AVP FPS, the one before it is confusing as shit in terms of what you actually have to do (and is just generally worse). AVP 2010 screwed AVP for good, Colonial Marines was just the final nail.
And also GOG. I can't believe, why this game never get a re-released onto digital storefront, yet the legal copy of the first one is remain available on GOG and Steam, these day😞
I've put around 1000 hours just in the campaign... Back in 2008 when I was 9 years old. Played this game till 2010. Every spawn point of enemies, every quote, soundtrack, sound sequence, game mechanics and movement are engraved into my brain. Nostalgia hits hard seeing this after 13 years 🥲

Stalking you and waiting to pounce and the dark and well lit hallways whilst the little devils aka the aliens launch an attack. Absolute masterpiece and very much would like to see more AVP games to come.
You can actually one-shot him using the remote mines if you plant one directly on the back of his head. It's much easier to facilitate this approach if you cloak. He has no motion tracker so he can't actually detect where you are when cloaked so long as you don't walk right up in front of him.
@@ToughGamingGuy The alt-fire of the plasma pistol has an EMP effect which stuns the exo-suit. Also, Rykov is a human, not an android, and so your cloaking device still works against him.
I used to play the multiplayer of AVP2 all the time. I loved being the Alien, I didn't care I died in most matches. Since it was just so much fun to come up with different ways to sneak up on people. There is nothing more satisfying than someone typing after a match, 'I think I peed a little.' The opening and ending for the Alien campaign alone is scarier than all the Alien or Predator movies made in the last 20 years. The atmospheric storytelling in the Marine campaign shows what a lot of game developers have lost over the years. Though watching the Marine one, I forgot how much Halo and all the other FPS's were influenced by the movie Aliens (1986).
Man the memories. This, the first AVP on PC Red Faction and the original Deus Ex were the first PC games I ever played after my oldest brother gave me and my brother his old laptop with these gems. I never knew what kind of amazing haul of games we got that day till I was a lot older.

Childhood . And yes, I was very afraid of facehuggers because of the disgusting animation on the screen when he pounced on the face of the protagonist. Ew.
I was more scared of the fact that the damn things were a guaranteed instakill plus they jumped around like cocaine fueled rabbits. Literally used the smartgun just to deal with them when possible. But hot damn the game is definitly a classic. The guns had punch, the meele was visceral and atmosphere was on point.
God I loved this game. No other game involving the xenos has quite captured what a force of nature they are. All three stories were great, and fun to play (the marine was a bit sweaty-gamer play for me though 😂). I really wish someone would remake this.

The closing epilogues, especially the one for the Predator campaign, absolutely demand a sequel, in addition to a remake.

If this game ever comes back as a remake or reboot but for the Nintendo Switch, then I will buy it in a heart beat. I remember playing as Predator, Marine, and Alien. The Alien and Predator story I played a lot together, but Marine was boring. AVP Gold Edition was just as good.

The only complain i had is that the game doesnt reward you for skulls and melee kills.

Predator hunting grounds is FINE. No, it’s not as good as this, but we haven’t had a full blown solo predator game since the PS2.

@@nico55544 I didnt said Hunting ground is not fine. From what i saw there is a lot of potential, but for me this is a waste in the sense that it could be so far better. Hunting ground is not bad as a game, it is bad as a vision of a game.

I used to play this game online all the time.
Imagine a new AVP with the Alien: Isolation game engine and then with the kind of gameplay that AVP 2 have, maybe a bit more polished but yeh, no lock-on jump as in AVP 2010.
I think that would be an amazing game xD
