I remember floam, which means it stuck around until at least the late 90s. Also the sesame seed talk was funny taking Mal's Starmen name into consideration.

Scultpting's not a bad option if you want to make miniatures. They are a bit small, so that might be challenging. It's possible though. I had a dental tool once, just the hook they use to go in between teeth. I don't know where I got it, but it was good for smaller sculptures I've made.
15 dollars gets you a good box of sculpty clay - has quiet a bit of clay there. If all the figures are about 1 inch, it should give you about 10 or more figures from that box. It depends on the size and if you give them bases (which you probably want to do). Paint's not too much in cost either, so chances are you'll get some bang for your buck if you choose that. There might be some bigger characters you want to do this for, so at the very least, you can do that.

Drizzt is a really cool character, and he's featured in a lot of books by R.A. Salvatore.
Also i think that the blue dude was a kobold.

Drizzt is the main character in the Forgotten Realm series as written by R.A Salvatore. It is a huge expansive book series that gives tons of lore for D&D. If I could recommend anything I would suggest reading the Drow Elf Trilogy by R.A Salvatore, as giving the basic origins to the characters. I also recommend the Cleric Quintet if you want to read a series of stories about the type of players who like to make outrageous characters, like a dwarven druid for instance. Wonderful read, but very long.

the name of the figure is on the bottom of the base. =) It's also cheaper to buy a brick (8) boosters than buying them separately, but if you want a bunch of mini's on the cheap...wait for Reaper's next Kickstarter...insane amount of plastic mini's for a VERY low price, although they are unpainted. Hope you have fun playing DnD!

It's great to see you guys getting into D&D! I recently got into it and I've been the DM for a while now. I'm curious if you know where I can make my own maps for my adventures. The reason I want to know is because I make almost all of the adventures we play because we can't afford the official ones and any you find online aren't the easiest to tell what you have to do. I also feel that it's a lot more fun because you get great things like demon kittys and people almost dying while someone else is drinking martinis.

Marjolie Lemay-roy I use that currently, but I just wanted a full map to give a feel of adventure. That and I don't really have anything that can stand in for the minis on a piece of grid paper.
