    Cool Idea man! I have been thinking about doing a 1/2in stretch cause im still on short arms and 2” lift but wanna get bigger tires in there. Good to know most things should be fine 👍

      Thanks man! As long as you have the clearance in the front, I say go for it!

    It's been my observation that driveshafts usually don't slip much at all through the suspension cycle. That said they are fairly cheap and not hard to fabricate in your garage. Balance them with the old two hose clamp method if needed but really not necessary.

      Yeah there was very minimal movement in the driveshaft splines throughout the travel. I think short arms at any decent lift height would not have the same result. I will be upgrading the driveline soon!

    So you said you made some spacers that were angled to adjust the lower mount of the front coil springs. After seeing this video I will most likely do this same thing to my WJ. What did you use to make the angled spacer for the lower mount of the coil spring?

    • @engineeringoverland
      @engineeringoverland  ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct. I essentially made a U-shaped wedge that I put between the lower spring perch and rubber isolator. I made it out of some heavy duty conveyor belt rubber. Haven't touched it again since this video and it has worked perfect.

      I'm running the IRO rock link pro kit. Definitely planning to make a full walk around video of the Jeep soon and explain everything!

    Did you have any alignment issues after the stretch?

    I would go to my local machine shop and have them machine a spacer where the drive shaft bolts on. Order a 1 inch spacer. its easier than changing and making custom driveshafts.

    Did you make the top control arm longer too

      @engineeringoverland  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I did. Had to adjust everything to keep caster angles correct.

    How does it ride that trail temar shocks?
    Is it better than doestch tech 8000?

    • @engineeringoverland
      @engineeringoverland  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't have any experience with the doetsch tech shocks, but the trail tamers are a bit soft for my liking. Pretty decent build quality and plenty of travel, but in the future I'll probably go to something a bit stiffer.

      @@engineeringoverland that why I choose doetsch tech 8000 more stifer better for 8"+ lift with no sway bars.
      Had bisteins years was soft for my test.
