  • Shea butter is a great product for preventing our hair from drying out, retaining moisture for longer periods of time. It works even better for skin aging maintenance.

THIS is the BEST video explaining the difference between white and yellow Shea butter (that I've watched thus far). This was definetly not a waste of 9 mins and I'm surprised you were able to fit all that info into one video without babbling.
Unfortunately I purchased African Butter thinking it was Shea butter, but I'm glad it's not a complete waste of money and I'm also really thankful for the links that you provided to purchase authentic shea butter.

Can you do a video on JBCO next? Under my impression Jamaican BLACK castor oil almost is supposed to appear black or a very deep brown. But the only ones I see provided at every store I've been to and every person I have seen use it has some that is no where near that deep brown color.

I know I am 3 years late, but I am glad that I found this video! I always wondered what her stance was on Shea butter on the hair. I have tried a few twist butters for my hair, but I have not had a product that gets my hair as perfect as raw African Shea butter with a little mixture of jamaicain castor oil! I only use those two products for my twists and I get so many compliments on my hair! The African women think that I got it done professionally, but I always tell them that I do them myself, but I use raw Shea butter and Jamaican castor oil!

Morgan Francis I know what you mean. I get my Shea butter at the African world festival in Detroit and the dealer told me it's different color comes from how it's milled. He said it's no difference in the ivory or the yellow. I have bought both in the past but at different times. But this time I'm buying both together!

    • @Veronique428

Yes Indeed ‼ It's like a bright yellow, because they add a root which called pachow (the spelling may not be correct), so it has so medecinal proprety like anti inflammatory.

  • @chantallaneau9195

    A. If it's pure white most likely it is not authentic, Because it's most likely been bleached and all the awesome beneficial nutrients have been taken out through the refining process. Real authentic unrefined Shea butter is ivory to pale yellow and its varies because that is how organic products are, every batch is different!

I think it is A. Rather than being off-white, beige or a pale yellow, it is pure white. Pure and unrefined shea butter has a pale colour rather than a bright one. This means that it has been bleached and has been refined. It also appears to be hard instead of soft and creamy like pure shea butter.

You're the "Boom", A is the answer to your question. You talk extremely knowledgeable. Thank you soooo very much. God bless you. I grew up watching my mom making Shea oil or Shea butter as people call. There are two ways of making Shea: 1) the roasted nuts that yeal brownish Shea oil and the raw nut which yeal the "Almighty" beige butter. I've never seen a yellow Shea but until I came to the USA decades ago. I always argued with people that these are not Shea butter..... Thank you so much for your research. It really helped me understand how the "Yellow" shea butter comes to life. The beige color of shea butter depend on how and where it is produced. God bless your heart ♥!!

    I love this video
    Great information
    ... but the background music
was a little too loud and distracting,
making it hard to hear you sometimes.
I really enjoyed this video (please leave
    out the music next time)

Shea butter is great to cook with. You can't even smell it with most foods. The only foods that can have the smell is small food like omelets, but something like jollof rice will not smell like it. I am Senegalese we cook with shea butter a lot.

The answer is A because it is bright white in color. Unrefined shea butter is pale in color. It also comes in a range of off white, beige, and yellow..

  • @abbyedosomwan5668
    @abbyedosomwan5668 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

A: because its the whitest and looks like the one with the most impurities removed. In other words, A is refined because it is white and creamy with a smooth and fine texture
