I am a jump-pack connoisseur and I have some other tips and observations: 1) Beware of fire with the pack. Too many hulks have caught me, and you will die if you catch fire midair.2) Getting to higher ground tends to have less fog so you can see and sniper even better. While your team is approaching an object and getting set up, work on getting higher. 3) While playing the bots, if you jump on a flat-topped terrain feature, but are getting overwhelmed lay down to avoid fire. 4) If you are planning to jump or if it is a remotely important jump, seek higher ground. Even standing on a barrel can get you the perfect jump. 5) I like the energy weapon/jump pack combo because I do not run out of ammo when I am stuck a rock spire and surrounded. 6) Beware that the jump pack's braking shot will trigger if you fly too close to an object. If you are jumping from on high and just miss a fence, your brakes will fire early, and you will hit the ground a little too hard causing you to take damage. Sometimes you got to do it, but just be aware.
@@Wallbouncing also, you can mount your resupply barrel unlike the other taller strats. So placing the resupply beside a ledge can give you a leg up to get higher.
Agreed. I also love how you can bull fight chargers with it. The only mission type i don't tend to take the JP on are defense. IF you are setup for solo/stealth with a JP, the EMS strike is a great strat to use before jumping away.
@@Eneeki On the new defense missions I have been taking the supply pack and grenade launcher. It backfired last time I played because the team could not handle Bile Titans. The fun part about the grenade launcher (for the defense missions) is that you can launch nades "straight" up and they drop like a mortar round. I have never seen a video on this, so if I see people do it in the future, I will take credit lol. The "straight up" method allows you to fire over walls, hills, and teammates. If you point "straight up" (the game does not let you point all the way up) the grenades will land 50 meters away. If you see a defense mission with a mad lad grenade launcher user, pointing to the sky, it's me ha-ha.
@@_Jay_Maker_you’re the one calling it BS, when a module giving 2 uses is an excellent and balanced idea. But you’re right just “fixing it” is a good idea too, gee I wonder how they’ll do that…
2 things. I think the jump pack should have a 10-15 second recharge, not 20. And I think it should have 3 modes. Height mode which burns the launch and the recovery to get you higher and is less reactive to existing forward speed when you launch, Launch mode which is the current normal mode, and Speed mode which doesn't lift you at all and burns both the launch and recovery to add ALL of it straight to your running speed, basically tripling it for 2-3 seconds or whatever the total burn time is.
I used to "not" to like jump pack before because i thought it was useless. But i gave it a shot again and after learning on how to really use its potential, boy i was dead wrong. Im in love with this thing now, will not play without it. It saved me many times more than the shield, especially against bugs. It gives you that 2 steps ahead kind of thing when youre using it, as long as you know how and when to use it.
Thanks for your comment and for watching. I agree that the jump pack has saved me in more scenarios than the shield generator. A bubble shield won't always stop that charger from pancaking me into a wall haha
1. Jumpack can be used to easily hop onto friends' mechs to provide additional cover 2. You can jump onto chargers and ride them! yay! Don't ride bile titans though. They're almost a 100% guaranteed death. 3. You can use jumpack to easily sneak onto many Automaton objectives and important targets, couple examples: - Skip a long way to disable a jammer - Hop onto a factory strider, this requires a bit of height (the AT-AT doggy) - Easily jump over tanks blocking paths. You can also stand on them to confuse them, if situation allows this can help your teammates A LOT. Beware of tracks. - Easily get to that small, fenced area that is under a Gunship facility so it can be hellbombed hella easy 4. Change elevation heights often with bugs to make them chase you around the terrain while u just skip it Nice vid btw
Vaulting over fire tornadoes, mines and napalm eagles. Infiltrating bot Jammer bases. Taking a group's aggro and flying off behind terrain, effectively making them run after your ghost.Guerilla tactics at its best.
Thanks for mentioning that. There's a lot of hazards on the map you can just bypass by jump packing. Even on maps with awful terrain that prevents you from easily accessing one part from another, the jump pack can let you fly right on over. Thanks for your comment!
Perfect for baiting Can-parties into traps like Minefields, Sentry Killzones, or Heavy Ordinance Brose with itchy Triggerfingers.... ... Or in the rare circumstances when you're the HellAdmiral diving with a bunch of fresh recruits and you called them some Heavy Ordinance to help with the Education portion of their "Field Trip". :D
Some of the strats I’ve been using with the jump pack are 1. Force bugs to walk around terrain. This is way more noticeable the more you try it, anything that requires a vault to get over, almost all bugs have to go around instead. So even the smallest ledge forces them on a longer path where you can start dealing damage. 2. Going down hills gets you insaaaane distance and time save vs running. You can start a fight at the top of a hill or bring a group up there, just to jet pack down and sort of corral the enemies, giving you a ton of time to shoot them. 3. You get to “solve” extraction by just getting up to the highest rock and lying down. You can either stealth or wait out aggro’d enemies till the shuttle lands then fly over to the door very consistently. 4. Cannon turrets don’t seem that good at hitting you flying, hasn’t happened to me once yet. I think you can just reaction jet pack to the red light lighting up. 5. You can clear the explosion of a cluster bomb with a little extra height from starting up on something, same with an impact nade (throw it as you start the jump), you can make it over a napalms fire to force bugs to walk through it to get to you, etc etc
Also I guess tips that work well for being up on a rock vs bugs that in turn are jet pack tips 1. Gas strike or napalm or any eagle tbh = big number go brrrr 2. Infinite ammo weapons cook here 3. Turrets get an automatic flank and enemies struggle to choose you or the turret 4. Long reloads and stratagem cooldowns are safe to do and wait out
as always motors re real dangerous. I got hit mid air by one when I was jumping away because the first one landed nearby and I knew I was gonna die if I stayed. I didn't know you could actulaly hit a motar in the air before that.
You completely left out my favorite use for the jump pack, extending the range of your strategem throws. If you throw the grenade while jumping, you get about 20 meters of extra distance. Great for reinforcing, orbital barrages, and throwing down supplies while on the move. Edit: you didn't leave it out, just didn't have any footage showcasing it.
I mention it around 10:40. I wasn't sure if I said it earlier in the video so quickly added it there. I do believe the extra height/distance when throwing is great for engaging from afar or reinforcing teammates as well. Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching!
@@BoobmatesI watched the whole video, hence how I was aware that he did not showcase this (extremely useful) aspect of the jetpack in his video, yet showcased weird firing angles of different weapons. I'd argue that it is important enough to warrant more than a footnote at the end of the video. At that point in the video, I was distracted by the fact that he regularly reloads the Sickle, something that too many people seem hesitant to do (saw he only had 2 cells left)
@@revanteharriell7289 Not always, you have to learn the surfaces with habit... also, you can drop a turret on a backpack to make it stick wherever you place the backpack.
Thanks for your kind words! Always looking to make informative no-nonsense (maybe just a little joke or two) videos that help spread democracy! Appreciate you checking out the video!
I also run the jump pack all the time! Great tutorial that goes over a lot of the basics of using it -- I've seen a lot of folks poo-poo it because its not entirely obvious how to best use it and it is rather inflexible. One great tip with the jump pack is that the secondary burst of jet to cancel fall damage triggers based on how close you are to touching the ground, not on a set timer. You can use this to great advantage if you're at the top of a hill or cliff and need to clear a lot of distance quickly. Doing a sprinting jump at those high points can mean easily clearing 30 to 40 meters in a matter of seconds, depending on how high the hill or cliff are.
Additional tip I have found is that if you do a stationary jump, you are able to aim weapons like the EAT and Quasar cannon accurately and get a shot off if you do it at the peak of the jump. This is super useful for quickly shooting at cannons, tanks or dropships behind cover.
Level 58, just started using it on Bug missions. I'm not sure if it's usefulness is quite worth taking up a slot, but damn if it doesn't look, sound, and feel cool as Hell when it activates. Jumping off of a cliff or hilltop so you get maximum height and flight time never gets old. It is effective for jumping over enemies and getting out of tight spots too.
Thanks for your comment. As much as I broke down the mechanical side of it, it does feel cinematic and super cool to just fly around over enemies and structures.
A couple of days ago i was fighting terminids on the Fori Prime. It's that planet with a frequent tremors and a massive cliffs, which make you circle the whole map just to get every objective done, as those cliffs very often blocking your direct path. I don't know why, but that time i forced myself out of my "meta" loadout and got back to the jetpack again to have some fun just like the first time. I tell you what, i got OVER the overpass which was blocked off by the middle sized cliff, thanks to the jumppack. I couldn't even believe it'd be possible to do that, but it was. I just managed to mantle through some of the "convenient" rocks nearby and jumppacked to the top. I checked the minimap and i saw how teammates behind me were just looking at me with their cones and like "wth? HOW?". So yes, i agree, this game definitely needs MORE movement stratagems to have fun with
Totally forgot to mention how the jump pack can let you navigate those maps where there's so much impassable terrain and forces you and your team to run around the whole thing. Thanks for bringing that up and thanks for commenting and checking the video!
@@Wallbouncing sharing a personal fun experience is a pleasure. And yes, traversing through rough terrain on some planets is just a must have in a strat slot. And plus one point to the general fun of use of a jumppack is to thrust yourself up from some serious elevations, makes you jump forward to about 25 to 30 meters ahead or so. In general, great vid and good tests, informative for the newcomers!
The new survival mission are a prime example of how the jet pack is extremely useful! I did some videos on the tactics: th-cam.com/video/CpZNm4u41eQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=0Xz8FNPFMzPKFOPY th-cam.com/video/iNngjXK6NPQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=SWcZsP5pOulQ9KtR
I think a cool buff for the jump pack would be to always let you fall softly like at the end of a jump, it would still use fuel but it could make it useful in situations where you need to go down, not up
I love this idea. It has some sort of auto velocity monitor that kicks in as it senses you falling to fast and for too long, the after burner kicks in and uses 1/10 of the fuel so it reloads in like 2 seconds or something. Arrowhead needs to add this. It works with their ultra realistic theme.
I like to use the jump pack with the eruptor, it offer so many utility. Eruptor is basically a grenade launcher with the range of sniper, you can destroy bot factory at long range, then jump to somewhere high to finish the remaining bots. Jump pack also help you jump over the fire tornado so it's a big plus
I'll definitly be using the pack when available now Another movement tech I use a lot is with those mushroom spores on hot planets like hellmire If you shoot them, they explode and send you flying, I've now gotten good at standing on top of them, jumping back, and firing to fling myself across the map. Generally the lower the angle you get the lower the damage unless you hit a wall directly. Usually you'll need a stim but sometimes ive gotten away with minimal damage even in light armor. Its been fun for just crossing the map slightly faster than someone sprinting but its also been useful when your trapped in a desperate swam with no way to run out. Pop a stim, and take a leap of faith, gave me enough distance to get running and put a strategem between me and the swarm
I know exactly what you're talking about. If my jump pack is on cooldown I like to use those as my second budget jump packs haha. Thanks for your comment and for watching!
I originally wasn't a big fan of the jump pack, but I started using it more and more to get on top of rocks and buildings. It's started to become my go-to choice for bug and bot missions. Sadly, I get kicked pretty regularly for using it. Even had someone in a voice call the other day _demanding_ my justification for using it, and shutting me down every time I tried to explain.
Sorry you've been kicked for expressing your joy for climbing rocks and buildings. It was very undemocratic of them to do it. Hopefully you run into some fun groups in future. Thanks for commenting and checking out the video!
Jetpack is my favorite thing in the game! Thank you for the video. Some tips I have to add: 1. The arc benefits more than any weapon by being above the ground cover (like bushes) which block your arc. The jetpack makes that automatic. 2. When using the quasar or laser cannon, it is helpful to jump and charge your shot it while in the air, land, aim, and let it go. 3. My biggest tip is to not jump into any fight on flat ground. I know it’s boring to hold back but instead save the activation and having it on hand to escape a sudden problem, like a charger or misplaced stratagem dramatically increases your survivability. 4. It makes it easier to run the 380mm barrage and safely get away. Really it does this for every large AOE stratagem. 5. It is nice for jumping over where someone’s flamethrower has lit the ground or there a fire tornado path. It’s also great w the flamethrower period to be up high. 6. When bugs are chasing you, jumping over a V-shaped valley from one high side to another is an instant escape. 7. Like the video said, it is great w sniper rifles but also the laser cannon, which basically is the energy sniper. My fav is eruptor plus the cannon. 8. This is implied by the info in the video but when running for your life, it is best to jump asap or, dive, stand, run, then jump. If you screw up and jump early, it will snub the jump because your forward movement is so slow. 9. The jetpack is as much an offensive item as a defensive one. Look for raised terrain with no way to climb and you will be able to reign offense down on those around you. 10. Objects higher than head level are great to hop over when being chased by bots. It creates an instant block of their vision, which in turn staggers their bots in different ways (some will begin to run while others stand and shoot the rock). This creates separation and if you do fight them, they are easier because they are staggered.
one idea for a movement focused support stratagem could be a sort of climbing rope launcher. could be used by teammate to get to higher elevations or allow safe descents of dangerous drops.
The jump pack is part of my standard kit. You basically mentioned all the reasons, but it also allows you to jump over chargers and shoot them in the vital areas. It combo's well with the new grenade pistol if used right. If you jump down hill, you can cover some insane amount of ground almost instantly as well. Like 40 to 50 yard jumps in a few seconds. A useful tool indeed.
a neat bit of tech i found myself: if you jump down a hill or are about to land on something like a fence or rock, the small burst at the end will carry you a meter or two further. it isn't the biggest thing in the world, but it does make traversal faster if you do it multiple times. pair that with the fact that you don't get nearly as much out of the jump pack when you're traveling up hill, it is always worthwhile to wait until you're at the peak before jumping
Either shorter cool downs or more than one jump per charge and I would use it. I also think there should be ship modules upgrading it to jump higher and further.
I started using this just to deal with frustrating terrain and heavy armor slowness, but now I can't put it down. It's so useful to be able to get to high ground, ESPECIALLY at an enemy camp or at exfil. I wear the heavy medic butcher armor, so I'm still pretty survivable without a shield pack, and the jump pack compliments my playstyle really well.
It took like until lvl 90 something before I got in on the jump pack glory. I went from Shield pack to Rover to Jump pack. Oh boy do miss it when I don’t have it! However I’ve been a bit hesitant using with the bots but I shall go at’em with today to see if it suits my play style against them rust buckets… Cheers m8! Really appreciate the video! 👋✌️🖖
Tanking more shots within danger and removing yourself from the danger are two different things and require drastically different approaches. It's actually perfect for helldive you can avoid the bot drop mixed with a marksman rifle and you never deal with more then a handful of bots or bugs.
Love me my jet pack. MY trick to add is that being able to get to the tall rocks on some automoton kill missions can single-handedly win you that mission
-decreased recharge and increase jumping duration and height Or -dual charge jump pack with same cooldown and jump height but the charges can recharge independently
The biggest things are that it just isn’t worth it to use this instead of the shield pack as a defensive utility, and as a mobility utility it just doesn’t provide enough. It desperately needs a small cd reduction as a defensive positioning utility, the shield pack recharges faster! But I think it would feel much better if it went farther and higher (especially higher when standing still) to allow more flexibility when positioning around bigger cliffs and to basically dive into cover across long distances like those very open automaton outposts.

10:59 This is my tip for using the jetpack the most effective way. If you can find a high place and jump off it while sprinting , you're golden. You go way over the original distance you would. It also catches you , so you don't take fall damage. I have tested this with random players who were running downhill , I gave them a little head start , sprinted , jump pack-ed and almost caught up to them. It's amazing for mobility and getting quickly around the map.
I've been wanting to use the jump pack for a while, and this info is what I needed for sure. I do kind of wish it played more like the Halo Reach jetpack while this is more like the Dark Trooper jetpack from classic Star Wars Battlefront, but I enjoyed both of them in their own ways.
This is the video us jump pack enthusiast have been waiting for. I also like to use the jump pack to jump over chargers and make them slam into a rock. Its also so good at getting that high ground on the new defense missions
The safe landing feature is the best part of the jump pack, as it lets you launch for miles from a roost. Perfect for a sniper, cover your team from afar, ignore the bugs that get drawn towards yourself... When they start to climb up to you call a small orbital at your own location and yeet yourself half a mile away.
ive seen a lot of hate surrounding the jump pack and i genuinely dont understand it. it is really fun being able to jump around and its really good for getting out of sticky situations as well. higher vantage points are fantastic in any combat situation. thanks for these tips, they were very helpful! this video was really well made and i hope it gets more attention
People hate it because it takes up a backpack slot when the meta is usually guard dog rovers for bugs and shield packs for bots. That or people think you should use the autocannon and have that take up both slots
I honestly think they could rework it entirely, giving it Star Wars battlefront jet pack type controls, allowing you to essentially freely fly with it so long as it has charge
I became a believer in the jump pack a few days ago when I watched a diver jump over an impassable cliff face and then call me down a pack of my own. I was hesitant to drop my autocannon ammo but with how little time we had to extract I picked up the pack and since I've been addicted. I don't like running into lvl 60+ players who worship the meta and will complain about me running jump pack and AMR to fight bots though:( i just think it's the perfect combo cause it's ~100% of the autocannon with the mobility to reposition quickly. I can two shot hunters and take out commissars before they launch their flare and quickly get some distance if I run into berserkers.
Jump pack and AMR is a great combo! Meta or not, to me this is still just a game so I want to have as much fun as I can! Thanks for your comment and thanks for checking out the video.
Thanks for making content I can watch with my son that isn't full of swearing and "bro-type" language. Hope the channel grows and keep up the good work!
Jump pack is awesome and deserves a buff I think. My favorite thing to do is just bring offensive stratagems and a jump pack on bug missions. You can jump over chargers and spike resupplies or sentries(anything that drops in a hellpod) on their heads so you don’t even really need a stratagem weapon
A neat upgrade to the jump pack upgrade could be it always tries to use the landing jets when falling from dangerous heights, maybe costing a tiny bit of charge. It would make it useful when climbing around bot bases letting you drop off high places without risking broken legs or ragdolling.
Quick tip to help maximize efficiency: after using a Jump Pack, you can gain enough distance to begin regenerating stamina if you walk immediately afterwards, helpful for that tiny extra distance to get away from bugs/bots when exhausted! P.S: if you are positioned uphill, using the jump pack all the way down will both save you from the fall damage, and gain further distance + stamina regen (Note, jumping to higher platforms/mountains will not have the same result.)
I’d love to see the pack change based on the armor you use. Light armor you fly higher and heavy lower. Would be cool to have an armor perk add more fuel to a jump to go longer or higher ontop of the previously mentioned light armor buff.
Thanks for your comment. It would be super fun to have an armor perk that affects things like the jump pack. I would be spamming that everywhere! Thanks for watching!
I'd like to see some Ship Upgrades for the Jump Pack. Either more height or lower cooldown, or both mwahahaha! Against Bugs, I like to use it to get turrets placed in safer locations. Getting an autocannon turret high enough to where the million chargers can't head butt it is a good time.
I've been meaning to practice with the Jetpack because I see it being quite useful against the Bugs. I used to exclusively run with the Guard Dog but as I've gotten better it's been responsible for a higher percentage of my deaths.
I'm sure once you try out the jump pack and get the hang of it you'll never look back. Although the guard dog has it's own sets of pros of cons, so does the jump pack, but the thing I appreciate about the jump pack is that the range of movement it gives you also feels like you have more options in a situation and knowing I can approach something in multiple ways makes me feel like I can handle anything. Thanks for checking out the video and sharing your thoughts!
the grenade laucnher and antimatterrifle acually aim down, so you can jump and shoot the stuff where you land, also looks sick if you just unload while jumping
I was playing with my squad two days ago, we didn't have rainforsments at the end of the mission, they all died, i just hit a cliff, and from there i jumped over the bile titan's head straight into pelican-1. Now i'm use jump pack almost all the time😁😁😁😁
Really starting to like this thing, my latest bug loadout is breaker incendiary, laser cannon and jetpack, thanks for the great tips, really useful video!
I'm glad to see a lot of people enjoy the music! Super fun game. Made a lot of memories there and cool to see a lot of people feel something nostalgic from it. Thanks for watching!
That jump pack and drop into the other jump back and boost seemed like it actually gave you an even farther jump. That would be hot to use to clear an un usual distance perhaps. Kind of hope the devs do give a bit more love tot he jump pack. Of course right now I need them to not make explosions from my weapons suck me INTO them instead of blowing me back. it makes no sense and kills the vibe for me. Especially when explosives was the whole theme to the recent warbond...
I take the Jump Pack as often as I can. Just the increased speed from jumping and the increased distance jumping downhills makes it worthwhile. I usually pair it the MG-43 for better wave clear or the EAT if no one brings along dedicated anti-tank (rarely happens). Unless the mission requires that I spend a while on objectives, I'm running around constantly.
You can “glide” down hills to take advantage of the pack’s increased movement speed for longer. Just start at a high point and jump pack to a lower point
5:20 The other way to do this is If you press 4 on keyboard and equip your grenade before jumping, you can change the angle however you wish. That way you don't have to cook it first and can take your time!
If you jump over a charger without any movement input you can land on their back and ride them as they charge Its very fun. If you run an arc thrower you can taser it repeatedly to avoid being shook off.
I've found out (the hard way) that if you somehow get to an insane height and jump-jet off, if you are falling for too long it won't catch your fall and you'll lose control, hitting the ground hard.
This is good as you're starting out, but to play with cheat codes enabled, run light armor with the explosive resistance on bots with jetpack. You can cross the map in no time and all, able to outpace patrols and disengage very easily from firefights - which is what you need to do in difficulty 8/9. While still being resistant to random rocket barrages or cannon shots. I can ALMOST consistently do lvl 8 automaton missions with zero deaths using light armor with explosive resistance. Running: Primary: sickle/dominator/scorcher Secondary: redeemer/senator Grenade: Stun grenade Support: AMR/Quasar cannon (depending on mission) -Eagle airstrike -Orbital laser/eagle cluster -EMS mortar/Autocannon Sentry (if allowed 4th strategem) Autocannon sentry if solo, otherwise gunships fuck your ahh
Servo assisted and jet pack is goated, if you have a strategem in your hand and use the momentum and height from the jump, you can get beacons really, really far. I also like to jump when standing still to drop beacons right in the middle of patrols or drops, its way easier than trying to arc it from the ground
Servo assisted and the jump pack lets you really chuck those things super far. Very fun to experiment with. Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching!
Word of advice, when you extract try to elevate yourself towards the direction the Enemy is coming from, alot of the Melee Units will mindlessly pool underneath you, you help your Teammates a Bunch by not having them chased by the 30 Berserkers that just Bot dropped lol but.. stay very vigilant about anything that can ragdoll you, you don't wanna fall into the aforementioned Pool of Berserkes. One more thing.. when the Pelican arrives.. dive away, cause that SoaB will shoot you off your Perch. Edit: coming to think of it, it's not only the Melee Units but pretty much all Units will pool underneath you, though I noticed that the Ranged Units tend to be less focused on you and when they realize that they can't get to you go towards your Teammates
Not necessarily movement related, but I think a cloaking backpack would be a cool addition for stealth builds. Something that, when activated, temporarily conceals you from enemy detection.
I wouldn’t even mind if the cool down was increased if it behaved similar to the battlefront 2 jet pack and you got one leap with sizeable distance and height, but a longer cooldown. It would also make it a viable pick for heavy armor users to be able to keep up with higher speed armors at the cost of a stratagem slot.
I actually think heavy armor and jumppack is a great combo that compensates for your lack of movement. Also Jumppack and AMR combo is the god combo for bots change my mind. I swap the AMR for the Quasar or the GL for bugs.
Ok whoa I was certainly missing something here ! I can make certain maps a breeze and fighting chargers is completely different with a jump pack and an explosive weapon. Thanks for giving me some new options!
@@Kodiac Glad to hear your thoughts on it! Yeah, a lot of people like to pair either something long range like the AMR or something explosive like the quasar cannon with the jump pack from what I've seen. Even though its not something you'll be using all the time, this game is a lot more fun with all the options that are possible! Thanks for sharing your experience!

100% my goto jetpack and snipers
550 hours in 99% with a jumpack its like a third leg now
I still think the jump recharge time should be reduced. The fact that the shield pack regens faster than the jump pack is kinda BS!
Agreed. Should be a faster recharge
or very long leap not tall but long.
100%. I think people would absolutely use this if the recharge time was a bit more reasonable. Maybe like a 7 second reduction could work.
The shield pack is overrated anyways.
Jump Pack supremacy
Should be 12 seconds not 20, or have two charges

If you see a defense mission with a mad lad grenade launcher user, pointing to the sky, it's me ha-ha.
I hope they add a module that increases height of the jump by 10% or maybe a module that gives us 2 uses per charge.
Or... you know... just fix it so it operates more effectively.
The answer isn't always "add more bullshit that we have to balance."
just reduce the cooldown by 2-3 seconds :)
I’d pay 21 super samples
@@_Jay_Maker_you’re the one calling it BS, when a module giving 2 uses is an excellent and balanced idea. But you’re right just “fixing it” is a good idea too, gee I wonder how they’ll do that…
Or... just decrease the recharge.
Amen
Thanks for your comment and for watching. I agree that the jump pack has saved me in more scenarios than the shield generator. A bubble shield won't always stop that charger from pancaking me into a wall haha
jep it's the thing to go with when you want to keep your distance. Love it for solos but also find it very useful on coop.
It’s great against the bugs for sure. I’d still lean towards the shield for higher-level bots though.
1. Jumpack can be used to easily hop onto friends' mechs to provide additional cover
2. You can jump onto chargers and ride them! yay! Don't ride bile titans though. They're almost a 100% guaranteed death.
3. You can use jumpack to easily sneak onto many Automaton objectives and important targets, couple examples:
- Skip a long way to disable a jammer
- Hop onto a factory strider, this requires a bit of height (the AT-AT doggy)
- Easily jump over tanks blocking paths. You can also stand on them to confuse them, if situation allows this can help your teammates A LOT. Beware of tracks.
- Easily get to that small, fenced area that is under a Gunship facility so it can be hellbombed hella easy
4. Change elevation heights often with bugs to make them chase you around the terrain while u just skip it
Nice vid btw
Appreciate your kind words and for your tips! Thanks for watching!
Raven Guard...
Some of the strats I’ve been using with the jump pack are
Also I guess tips that work well for being up on a rock vs bugs that in turn are jet pack tips
1. Gas strike or napalm or any eagle tbh = big number go brrrr
2. Infinite ammo weapons cook here
3. Turrets get an automatic flank and enemies struggle to choose you or the turret
4. Long reloads and stratagem cooldowns are safe to do and wait out
as always motors re real dangerous. I got hit mid air by one when I was jumping away because the first one landed nearby and I knew I was gonna die if I stayed. I didn't know you could actulaly hit a motar in the air before that.
Thank you for sharing your tips. Very helpful to read through. Thanks also for watching!
really? first few times i used the jump pack i was getting absolutely NAILED by airshot rockets and cannons
A similar if not the same thing happens when throwing grenades/stratagems as soon as you dive
I mention it around 10:40. I wasn't sure if I said it earlier in the video so quickly added it there. I do believe the extra height/distance when throwing is great for engaging from afar or reinforcing teammates as well. Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching!
Lol shows you didn’t watch the whole video 😂
@@billyferguson2167somebody didn’t watch the video 😂
@@BoobmatesI watched the whole video, hence how I was aware that he did not showcase this (extremely useful) aspect of the jetpack in his video, yet showcased weird firing angles of different weapons. I'd argue that it is important enough to warrant more than a footnote at the end of the video.
At that point in the video, I was distracted by the fact that he regularly reloads the Sickle, something that too many people seem hesitant to do (saw he only had 2 cells left)
Jumpack goes so well with a turret oriented build... allows you to place very good turrets on heights.
Stratagems always bounce off high surfaces or roll Until they go to ground level
@@revanteharriell7289 Not always, you have to learn the surfaces with habit... also, you can drop a turret on a backpack to make it stick wherever you place the backpack.

I didn't think someone could spend 12 minutes giving actual useful advice... about a Jump Pack. This actually has helped out a ton!
Thanks for your kind words! Always looking to make informative no-nonsense (maybe just a little joke or two) videos that help spread democracy! Appreciate you checking out the video!
Titanfall mentioned. Now you have converted me to a jump pack main.
Fly high pilot
300 hrs in game and have always used the jump pack. Glad to see others seeing how slept on it is
I also run the jump pack all the time!
Thanks for your tip and for your kinds words! Appreciate you checking out the video!
Additional tip I have found is that if you do a stationary jump, you are able to aim weapons like the EAT and Quasar cannon accurately and get a shot off if you do it at the peak of the jump. This is super useful for quickly shooting at cannons, tanks or dropships behind cover.
Thanks for your tip. I'll definitely be trying that out! Thanks for watching!
Damn just like the strafing thing they do in valorant
Level 58, just started using it on Bug missions. I'm not sure if it's usefulness is quite worth taking up a slot, but
damn if it doesn't look, sound, and feel cool as Hell when it activates. Jumping off of a cliff or hilltop so you get maximum
height and flight time never gets old. It is effective for jumping over enemies and getting out of tight spots too.
Thanks for your comment. As much as I broke down the mechanical side of it, it does feel cinematic and super cool to just fly around over enemies and structures.
The Jump Pack exists a layer above the shield pack on the survivability onion. Instead of not taking damage, just don't get hit entirely!
If you are hip firing a lot, I recommend to enable the reticle to always be visible in options -> HUD
I did some videos on the tactics: th-cam.com/video/CpZNm4u41eQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=0Xz8FNPFMzPKFOPY

Eruptor with the heights you can get too with the jump pack is such an OP combo. Thanks for watching!
I'll definitly be using the pack when available now
Another movement tech I use a lot is with those mushroom spores on hot planets like hellmire
If you shoot them, they explode and send you flying, I've now gotten good at standing on top of them, jumping back, and firing to fling myself across the map.
Some tips I have to add:
Super cool tips! Thanks for sharing and thanks for checking out the video. Glad to see a lot of jump pack enthusiasts out here!

one idea for a movement focused support stratagem could be a sort of climbing rope launcher. could be used by teammate to get to higher elevations or allow safe descents of dangerous drops.
Oh that sounds like a cool idea. It can make for new approaches to bot outposts as well. Super cool! Thanks for our comment and for watching!
Agreed. At least a ship module to shorten the cool downs.
However I’ve been a bit hesitant using with the bots but I shall go at’em with today to see if it suits my play style against them rust buckets…
Cheers m8! Really appreciate the video!
👋✌️🖖
Anytime man! Appreciate you making the time to watch it and comment!
-decreased recharge and increase jumping duration and height
Or
-dual charge jump pack with same cooldown and jump height but the charges can recharge independently
Just my idea of buffing it
The biggest things are that it just isn’t worth it to use this instead of the shield pack as a defensive utility, and as a mobility utility it just doesn’t provide enough.
I use the jumpack with my 'firefly' load-out, jumpack + flame thrower + incendiar strategems and grenades. It's a fun time, everything burns. :D
Sounds like a blast haha. Thanks for watching and commenting!

It's amazing for mobility and getting quickly around the map.
thanks for doing the research
Anytime! Thanks for checking out my video. Appreciate the comment!
I've been wanting to use the jump pack for a while, and this info is what I needed for sure. I do kind of wish it played more like the Halo Reach jetpack while this is more like the Dark Trooper jetpack from classic Star Wars Battlefront, but I enjoyed both of them in their own ways.
Outstanding collection of tips

This is the video us jump pack enthusiast have been waiting for. I also like to use the jump pack to jump over chargers and make them slam into a rock. Its also so good at getting that high ground on the new defense missions
Fly high fellow jump pack enthusiast. Thanks for watching!

So Jetpack, Defender/Breaker, Redeemer, Mech, and Stamina Boost and I'll have a Titanfall build. I can't wait! (5 more levels to mech)

100 percent agree! Lets get a ship upgrade for the jumppack and more movement strats!
A neat upgrade to the jump pack upgrade could be it always tries to use the landing jets when falling from dangerous heights, maybe costing a tiny bit of charge.
It would make it useful when climbing around bot bases letting you drop off high places without risking broken legs or ragdolling.
I love the jump pack, jump pack + AMR is such a fun combo
It's a great loadout for stealth and for picking off high value targets from afar for your team. Thanks for watching the video!
Quick tip to help maximize efficiency: after using a Jump Pack, you can gain enough distance to begin regenerating stamina if you walk immediately afterwards, helpful for that tiny extra distance to get away from bugs/bots when exhausted!
P.S: if you are positioned uphill, using the jump pack all the way down will both save you from the fall damage, and gain further distance + stamina regen
(Note, jumping to higher platforms/mountains will not have the same result.)
Here's hoping in coming patches they'll give us a Thunder Hammer to pair with it!

You can begin a HMG / heavy weapon backpack reload in the air from a jump pack and still land smoothly.
As a fellow video game movement junky I really like this video.

I admire those who play light armor with no shield pack considering hunter can literally chop off your head in one swing 😂
It's true bro, I run shield pack or jump pack depending on mission
Jump pack is really good with the arc thrower too
the "ride the lightning" combo haha. Thanks for watching and for commenting!
Jet pack is very fun. I like using it on the lower difficulties, but if I want to collet super samples I need to bring the more serious stratagems.
The jump pack is so fun. I always use it
Yeah totally agree with less recharge time or even a extra second of thrust would be nice
Whenever I do this I get fd up after 2 seconds haha. Haven't tried with updated arc thrower though
I've found out (the hard way) that if you somehow get to an insane height and jump-jet off, if you are falling for too long it won't catch your fall and you'll lose control, hitting the ground hard.
Oh wow, never encountered that. Thanks for the tip! Appreciate you checking out the video!
Time to start using the jump pack more
Excited to hear about your experiences! Thanks for watching!
Heavy armor w/ explosive resistance + jump pack has been great on bot missions.
Running:
Primary: sickle/dominator/scorcher
Secondary: redeemer/senator
Grenade: Stun grenade
Support: AMR/Quasar cannon (depending on mission)
-Eagle airstrike
-Orbital laser/eagle cluster
-EMS mortar/Autocannon Sentry (if allowed 4th strategem)
Autocannon sentry if solo, otherwise gunships fuck your ahh
I like it. But it should be shoes that we unlock and keep on, because we need the backpack space for other stuff.
Jump shoes would be next level in this game haha. Thanks for watching!
0:43 based LBP music. Brings a tear to my eye
This is one stratagem I haven't dabbled in yet, but I think I will now!
Those vantage points look like very inviting Sentry spots :)
If you can get them to stick. That was stealth changed pretty early unfortunately
Maybe just my experience but I found with Servo assisted throwing, if you aim them directly downward they tend to stick
Thanks for your comment and for watching. Let me know how it goes!
Not necessarily movement related, but I think a cloaking backpack would be a cool addition for stealth builds. Something that, when activated, temporarily conceals you from enemy detection.
Jump pack. It’s uh okay.. idk about helldive but fun to play around with.
I’m hoping there’s a future ship upgrade (or booster?) that increases the jump pack’s thrust. That’d be sweet. 30% higher jump or something idk.
That SEAF tip was good!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching and for commenting!
I hated the jump pack before i saw this video, i will be trying it out again with the tips to see if it changes my mind. Thanks for the info
No problem! Glad to help and excited to see what your thoughts are after using it! Thanks for watching!
