    Guy's SB reef light has great lights, for their pricing. Their 32inc Sbox regular and pro models will light up a 75 gal tank and par/spread is great from the regular model i think its $250 at 163w and it grew my sps and i recently upgraded to the pro version, and it costs 310 at 363w and i just started dosing so with a new light and just starting to dose i hope to see a boom in growth since the last light did so well. Their Lights are very durable! I owned the older version of the Sbox pro light for 7 months with it falling into the tank 3 times during thoes 7months do to human error. Even tho it did work it was't as like it was when it was new, with only half the blue sustaning my tank for thoes 7 months. Not to mention they also had great customer service, So let the results speak for themselves. But since it is a box light you lose out on customization when it comes to control over the light spectrum.

    That sps tank @ 3:30 is stunning.
    If you use instant ocean, don't mix it with red sea, or visa versa. One is synthetic ocean salt the other is real.

      Red sea all the way

    Great detailed vid! I’m always amazed but not surprised that behind every successful aquarium… is 10 other aquariums haha

    Hey man I just have a question about the auto top off system. When you're using/losing tank water to drip acclimate fish, invertebrates, etc. Do you top it off after with salt water or you shouldn't have to worry about it and let the ato top it off with the rodi water. Thank you in advance.

    • @TheReeferYT
      @TheReeferYT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yo Kenny. 😀 It depends. If I am using a large volume of water to drip acclimate coral I would try to replace it with saltwater that I already have made. If the volume of water is not large compared to the total volume in your system, I'd be okay with letting the ato take care of it.
      I hope that helps. 😀👍

    I'm very new , is it a way I can keep water changes to a min. Automated to a degree, I dont even have a tank yet but I know this will be my weakness

    • @TheReeferYT
      @TheReeferYT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mash. Thanks for checking out the video. 🙏
      My water changes between removing water with a bucket and refilling it from saltwater I've made takes less than 15 mins.
      I don't preheat my water before changing. When I started I did, but I change between 10 to 15% weekly when I can and have never noticed an issue. If you're changing a larger volume of water i would try to get the temperatures close. Doesnt have to be exact.
      I hope that answers your question. The hobby can be time consuming but water changes shouldn't be too bad. The only other time I didnt discuss but you'd want to consider is the time to make your salt water.

    Can you buy distilled water and add the salt?

    Hi. What kind of rock is that? Thanks

      Sorry Miguel. I thought I had responded. This is Stax rocks. It’s common mined dry rock. Very similar to Marco rock.

    Can clownfish live with gravel?

      @TheReeferYT  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gravel shouldn’t be an issue for clownfish. 👍🏼

    I enjoyed your video. But sometimes you use technical terms ("RODI") that the beginner would have no idea what that means. Your system looks very advanced adn sophisticated. Can you explain why you need all those tanks? It's quite intimidating and complicated looking. Love your video otherwise.

    • @TheReeferYT
      @TheReeferYT  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the late response Gardis. 🙏🏼 That is a great point with the acronyms, and it’s funny because I work in a place that uses acronyms for everything and I don’t know what 75% of them actually mean. So I actually can’t stand acronyms most of the time. 😩
      To simplify things, for a successful reef tank you need the following:
      1) good water parameters
      2) an adequate light
      3) adequate flow
      4) sufficient filtration both mechanical and biological.
      The equipment on the nano fall into one of these 4 categories. The auto top off and heater are for water quality. The bio balls, and filter floss are for filtration. Everything else is lights or flow. I hope that helps!
